  1. The keyboard will definitely NOT work in hydrilla. Just sayin'...
  2. Happened to me at Harwood's Mill a few times. One was when my youngest son was in the front of my kayak holding out the net while a huge bass, likely a PB, tail danced, spit my worm back at us and laughed all the way to the bottom. I think the same fish broke me off a year earlier in the same place.... Had my number.
  3. While at Lake Gaston last week I saw boaters flying across the lake as night settled in. Some with lights, and quite a few without as we could hear them and occasionally see them as the moonlight hit them. Still, as a kayaker, I stuck to shorelines and coves and avoided as best I could any big water. I also came in by sunset. Quite a few knuckleheads disregarded no wake zones while looking right at me, some never even looked just figured the no wake buoys were for other people... EDIT: I don't mean to make it sound like everyone was like this. There were FAR more very nice folks on boats who struck conversations with me, and I with them. They were very courteous.
  4. Now that's a big mouth on that there bass! Great catch!
  5. I believe Ozark Trails is a Walmart branded motor, and from what it looks like, it's rebranded MotorGuide. So based on that, I'd look at a local Bass Pro or other shop for a replacement pin. I think Bass Pro's rebranded motor is also a MotorGuide, so this: http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Prowler-Trolling-Motor-Prop-Accessory-Kit/product/98211/ Or here: http://www.walmart.com/ip/MotorGuide-Propeller-Nut-and-Wrench-Kit/10982920
  6. Should be able to find a pin an such at a local marine store, or where you bought it? I lost my prop and pin on a trolling motor once, too and fortunately had a paddle with me to get back. Now I keep a spare on hand in my kayak.
  7. Fertilizing it?
  8. Good chart! I've been building one for my own use, as well, comparing Yo-Zuri Hybrid, P-Line Floroclear, Sunline Sniper, Gamma, and other lines. 10. Welcome aboard! Spend some time reading the articles on this site, they are immensely helpful. Bass Fishing Basics For Beginners But for beginners I like to start simple, a spinning setup with a wacky rig. Cast it near/under docks, laydowns, and structure. Let it fall on its own - I.e., be patient as it shimmies down the water column. The other is TX rigging which you said you are doing...
  11. No idea, but welcome to the forums!
  12. Welcome aboard! Go spinning, much easier to get started with. Once you are there, expand to the casting side of things only if you want to. I do most of my fishing with spinning gear now after a foray into only casting, which was quite successful, BTW! So both are tools in a tool box.
  13. I'll downsize to 6lb leader if I have to. No issues with it. As for fluorocarbon, I'll use it as a leader attached to 10, 15, or 20# braid (depending on which setup I'm using). Most of the time I use 8# leader. It works fine in our waters.

  17. I've always thought of confidence in fishing to be a nebulous term. I.e., say Joe is "confident" in that bubblegum worm. Works all the time. But then I try it and can't buy a bite. Confidence is one thing to one person and something else to another. I experimented though, once, following a suggestion here at this forum, by taking only a bag of a new BPS Stik-O out, and only that bag, none of my fall back baits, or usual Senkos. Actually had good success to the point I felt... "confident" in using that bait that I would catch bass on 'em. And I have. But my buddy has had no such luck with it. So ... for whatever it is worth, my .02 on the matter.
  18. I wouldn't worry so much about ordering from BPS, especially if you have it shipped to the store for free. You can open it there at the front desk and if there is a problem, they'll take care of it there. Personally I've had good luck ordering rods online, but it is not common for me, in fact, I've only ordered two, the first a St. Croix Avid from a highly ranked store on eBay, and the other was the replacement for that directly from St. Croix. Actually, three, I ordered a Shimano Compre off eBay, which arrived in new condition.
  19. Can't help you with Florida, but could offer suggestions for Virginia! Welcome to the forums!
  20. I've only had White Castle, so....that's where my vote goes. Until I try Krystal...
  21. I'll just say welcome to the forums and let those with Curado and Quantum casting experience chime in here. Although I can say the Chronarch reels are amazing
  22. Welcome aboard!

  24. It's a hefty smallie for sure. I caught a striper in a local reservoir, the only striper ever caught there, as they are not stocked. Weird things happen when nature is involved.
