  1. I agree to contact local authorities. It isn't just bothering you, I guarantee it (unless there's no one around). We live in an area just between "rural" and "suburban" where you're allowed to own chickens but not roosters.... People think they can get away with it, but inevitably get told by the authorities they are not permitted roosters in this area. Lemme tell you, dogs barking all night vs. roosters crowing at all hours of the day and twilight. Annoying as H. E. Double-Hockey-Sticks. Anyhow, see what the local authorities will do. Noise ordinances are in place for a reason. Peace at certain hours. You're clearly not getting that. Hope you can get it resolved peacefully ;).
  2. Sheesh. Mine's dormant. I've been sooo tempted to delete it. Wife uses it to connect with her family, I've occasionally gone on to see what's going on with old friends...only to find out that I really don't care what's going on with old friends because they're political nutcases, or other and I just don't need that in my life. So maybe this brings me a step closer to the delete FB button....

    Hello!

  5. I agree with @Tennessee Boy, change is part of fishing is part of seasons is part of life. Patience, vary retrieval speed. Read up on things in your area (ask questions of seasoned fisherfolk). Try different tactics and colors. White could have been more attractive to the bass at that time.

  11. Simply put, depending on your line thickness, you go up 8-10 wraps (or more for thinner lines), then wrap back down in between each wrap the same number of wraps up. Moisten, cinch down. Now there are plenty of variations. I've had real success going up 8-10-15, then back down half the wraps instead of matching the number I wrapped up. If that makes sense.

  14. Sometimes simplest is best, IMHO. Mod'd Albright, or just the uni-to-uni. That's my go to, no problemos.
  15. Been curious to see if they'll eventually make it down my way, the Yorktown area. I understand they're mostly northern waters, tho are known in the James and York rivers. Guess they'll stay clear from the saltier flows.(?)
  16. Nice! What's the snakehead population like in the Rap?

  20. Sweet. Never caught carp this way, but I know they'd be as you describe. I have caught catfish, chain pick, which is like hauling in a boot full of water, LOL. I typically use gammy circle hooks when doing this type of fishing. Inspired by coarse fishing vids and articles I read over the years. Learned a lot from an elderly S. Korean gent back in the mid 2000s.
  21. Depending on my rig, I typically hold spinning gear with the reel between pinky and ring finger and I like to put my index on the rod if possible. Other times, if a heavier reel/longer rod setup, I may go all above the reel, tho not frequently.
  22. There's something to be said about light tackle, and finesse fishing. My favorite technique. Next up for ya, long pole, no reel, just a length of line and a float. Hang on cuz a 2lb bass on a long pole is crazy fun.
  23. Tonight, I'll be drinking....
