  1. Good golly Miss Molly that's a chunky smallie!
  2. Great catch, man! And way to do it on light tackle!!
  3. Welcome, Dylan!
  4. Welcome aboard, Joseph!
  5. I noticed that, too. Might be a seasonal thing as Glenn has mentioned before that some sponsors do it that way. But yeah, interesting nonetheless.
  6. Have you rec'd your order yet? I'm considering an order with them....
  7. You can do it with either setup
  8. Nice to see you still use the little boat Unfortunately, I don't see a wacky rig or drop shot, perhaps my eyes deceive me? Regardless. Clearly a productive trip and I'm only 5 minutes in the vid. Nicely done.
  9. No pic, no evidence, no weight!
  10. Between 3 and 5 pounds.
  11. Any of you guys received your order from OM yet? I lost a number of DS weights up on Lake Vermillion in the rather plentiful rock bottom. Looking to replenish my supply, and considering ordering from these guys....
  12. Can't help you with Florida, but plenty here can! Welcome aboard!
  13. Agree with the Hobie thoughts. Personally, reverse is a MUST have for me. I can't imagine not being able to do a hurry-up reverse in the wind when fighting a fish. Of course I'm using a trolling motor, but to have to reach for a paddle in those windy conditions is a pain. At least for me it has been.
  14. Welcome aboard!
  15. Welcome aboard!
  16. So sorry. Mine never complains, except when it's windy.
  17. Sweet smallies!
  18. My employer lives on the North side of the lake, near Black Bay, so I fished that area, primarily. The myriad of islands -- with homes on them -- are fascinating. Truly a beautiful place!
  19. Welcome aboard, Alex!
  20. I asked about this I think a year or two ago and got some good advice because I was losing fish near my yak, likely due to the hookset because the pre-rigged baits have a thick hook. The advice was a MH rod, I think from @A-Jay, so I bought a 6' MH Berkley Lightning rod...can't remember the success level because the bite died off in the area I was fishing not long after I bought it. Alas, that rod met its demise in the spokes of one of my son's bikes...'nuff said. Haven't done the swimbait thing much since.
  21. Spent past 4 days at Lake Vermillion. One good day SMB fishing doing the drop-shot thing. Caught 3 off a dock, and 6 more anchored near a hazard buoy in a windy portion of the lake. None much over 2 pounds, but all between 1 and 2. Didn't take many pix given they weren't "big-uns" but doggonit, I'm thrilled to get some smallie action because I don't get any down here in SE Virginia!! Pix are from the dock where I was staying. Awesome fight(s) on a BPS Light action Micro Lite travel rod, 5'6", which was more like a ML in action, paired with my new Stradic FK 1000, 15# PPSS8 with a 6# Gamma Edge fluoro. #2 Gamakatsu Split/Drop hook and Yammy shad-shape worms.
  22. Latest developments, not unexpected (i.e., no promises employees keep jobs) in the BPS buys Cabela's saga. http://www.seattletimes.com/business/bass-pro-ceo-talks-to-cabelas-workers-about-future/ SIDNEY, Neb. (AP) — Bass Pro Shops’ CEO has told Cabela’s employees that he won’t plant false hopes about their jobs after his company completes its purchase of the company. But he repeated earlier statements that some operations will stay in the Nebraska town where Cabela’s was founded.
  23. Happens, man. @A-Jay is pretty quick to catch us
  24. Welcome aboard! Another braid + leader recommendation here. All I use for LBM fishing on my spinning and casting gear. Spinning is either 10 or 15# and a leader from 4-15. You could probably do just fine with a leader in the 10-15# range. Yo-Zuri Hybrid is pretty dang strong for the rating (of course the diameter is slightly larger), and P-Line CXX is a very strong line.
  25. Welcome back, man!
