  1. I saw the g-man throw a dropshot into a nasty lookin tree and it broke off his line (he was using 6 pound test) so if he would have had the same rig with stronger line he would have one that tournament

  8. KU, i am the same as you i just can catch fish on a spinnerbait and i dont know why? This year was a big jig year for me, Last year i would have never said that a jig would be one of my go to baits but it is now. And i also produced lost of fish on buzzbaits and jerkbaits. Over all i would say that this was a good year for me I also became addicted to flipin around docks
  9. Great post lightninrod, When using a lure that noramlly gets hits on the fall like a jig i always keep my finger on the line. You will feel the hit but in the cold it is harder to feel strikes so you should see your line jump.
  10. JW you are in the right place this is the best fishin site on the web
  11. I seems like that my local spots are speendin up the last 2 weeks it has been cold and snowin off and on. Everytime i have gone out i have caught a least five the most was nine, all nice big fat ones.Catching them on Jerkbaits,c-rigs, and even buzzbaits. The most have been caught on a strike king pro model 1/4 jig worked very slow.
  12. GYCB c-riged worked slow around deep rocks
  13. I found that in the winter there is always fish that will bite. I live in indiana and i have fished in 20 degree weather and caught bass. During winter time the only lure that i would ever use is a jig and pig worked so slow that you could fall a sleep when you are fishin. Water color is easy to judge is it clear, muddy, ect. How far can you see down in the water if at all? Depening on how clear or muddy the water is you will be able to see the fish on there beds. In ponds i found that spawnin fish are sometimes harder to catch if you are not carefull because there is a very high chance they will see you and not take your lures. Try to find out what color the water is and the we will try to give you some more help
  14. I think it is just like a worm and i always watch my line when jiggin
  15. A big huge water splashin buzzbait, drill holes in the blades, bend the ends of the blades so they make a medal grindin sound. But LBH got it that is the best way, if you throw anything in there nest the will probley hit.
  16. I fish lots of small ponds and even at this time of year they still bite topwaters big spooks in wild shiner color and frogs worked slow and jerkin them like a jerkbait. I dont really use dropshot so i wouldnt know but make sure to find any sort of cover in small ponds bass dont have much cover to use so if any leaves, grass, trees fall into the water make sure to check that spot out.
  17. It would be cold but i have been fishing in 50 degree weather and catchin fish around cover and underwater slop with a big spook worked very slow and loud.
  18. Those are some great fish LBH and good music too ;D
  19. I have to agree with raul on this one boys.
  20. Yup i would try a scum frog on the top of those pads. Big bass love a topwater meal
  21. bassindude if you are talkin about me saying that i will never eat a bass and that you think that i throw my dieing fish back into the water u r wrong. 2 tell u the truth i have never gut hooked a fish so that common sense post better not be aimed at me.
  22. I have never ate a bass and never will. CATCH AND RELEASE ONLY.
  23. My Grandpa, dad, or best friend at school, I like fishing with anyone ;D
  24. Did anyone look around on charlies website? Look at the Codfather its pretty funny ;D
  25. All right, you just got to go ask the course owner you will see him in the clubhouse and he drives around in a golf cart every once and a while. Be nice to him and tell him you are a catch and release fisherman and you will not harm the fish in anyway. A little butt kissin will not hurt if he says no then try payin for a round of golf and bring your rods in a golf bag.
