  1. oh yeah and im not sponsored by them or anything but Lakeside Reels has amzing deals and FREE SHIPPING!
  2. sounds awesome. I have a Saros, but havent had a chance to use it yet. Some other rods that are well spoken of in the $100-$120 range are Lamiglas Excel - shares blank with top line Lamiglas rods, Lifetime warranty, made in USA Falcon Bucoo - made in the USA, five year warranty, very light Shimano Compre - Lifetime warranty, Shimano so its quality
  3. Also after salt (you probably know) keep them rinsed off WELL and serviced once a year. We have old white Stradics going on 5 years that we use on our boat for the charters. even with the abouse that the charters put them under, they are still going strong. We use them for dolphin and spades.
  4. x2 but for durability, get a Shimano or Daiwa (Diawa Coastal, Advantage or Shimano Saros, Stradic)
  5. I like a long rod for underwater cover.
  6. im in! :-*
  7. Exactly how I am.
  8. Theres really only 2 manufacturers you should consider...Daiwa & Shimano. Which one all depends on what you expect the reel to do. A Curado is not going to do well with light stuff, you will need a baitcaster with a light spool for that type of work. Shimano has a few choices.,unfortunately the prices get up there. The Chronarch and the Core will throw light stuff well.,especially the Core. Daiwa has the Sol. If you don't intend to throw small light stuff, a Curado is fine. x2
  9. Did you put it on the reel with as much tension as possible? When spooling with braid, you want it TIGHT.
  10. sure the line wasnt wrapped on something? like around the rod in between guides? if not, you got BIG TIME FLUKE power pro.
  11. Where can I find these "state publications"?
  12. What are your favorite magazines for Fishing? Only Bass fishing?
  13. Looks like a GIANT norfolk spot... without the spot.
  14. cant imagine it could possibly make a difference more than a few inches in casting distance. :-?
  15. x2 I also got the SAROS shipped for $99.95! Check Lakeside reels.
  16. I have had that happen with a Mitchell (made by Pure fishing). In my case, the oscillating slider has side to side play. If this is the case, the main shaft should wiggle a bit, and the clicking noise will occur when the spool is closest and farthest from the rotor during reeling. Hope it makes sense, and this is probably only one of 100 problems that can cause clicking. the reel is still useable, but annoying.
  17. Just get some trilene and be done with it.
