  1. Interesting. Look at the mix of brands guys have. I have owned reels under 8 different brand names and only found one that was a true dissappointment and soured me on that brand. There are so many reels today that are all outstanding performers. There is no BEST, just what might be better for you. It's great to be " dialed in " with your gear but you can only decide what meets your expectations.
  2. Been using their products for about six years. Good quality, features and VALUE. You won't be dissappointed.
  3. The 2010 Premier can fill any need except larger swimbaits due to spool size. I found I use the two I bought for thowing lighter baits long distances, like flukes, lipless baits, jerkbaits and so on. Don't get too worked up over EVA grip paddles. There is nothing wrong with the materials used in the other Revo models. Enjoy !
  4. Just the bare minimum: Brushhogs Sweet Beavers Yo Mamas Rodents Space Monkeys Super Hogs Bacon Rinds Wooly Hawgs Wooly Bugs and some goofy baits by BPS
  5. If the structure is not too snaggy, Quick Clips. If the botton eats weights like the Columbia does, hollow core pencil lead crimped ala steelhead drift fishing style. A roll of pencil lead is about three bucks. You have to use a swivel because this rig causes a bit of line twist. It works !!
  6. Lews fishing has a long history and many of the seasoned pros used Speed Spools in their early careers. They were and are the most bullet proof reels of their day. I have 5 BB1N's but shelved them as collector grade because parts are unavailable. Lew's, like all companies is looking for a portion of the market share. Like all companies they will use the loyalty of past Lews owners, the reputation of the name, the curiosity of potential buyers, the buyer who wants to be the FIRST to have one and or any other reason that motivates someone to buy the product. If the company re-introduced the BB1N in it's original design, I would buy 5 today. Time will tell if the company generates a following. I suspect the new generation Lews will be very good reels.
  7. Glenn will most likely need to change his pants after the Hawks win over the Saints. Lynch's 67 yard TD run was sweet.
  8. Read my poll posted 11/10/2010 titled handle preferences. 44% preferred split grip with no fore grip. Not exactly the most comprehensive poll but interesting none the less. I like no fore grip on all my rods, especially spinning.
  9. What's even worse is the model with the hooks included is 89.99.
  10. Catch More Bass by Stan Fagerstrom. Stan put bass fishing on the map in the Pacific Northwest. He's a hoot if you ever get to meet him. In the day his trick casting was nothing less than phenomenal.
  11. Yup. It's a beautiful place and the drift is awsome. If you want big fish you might be dissapointed but 100 fish days are not uncommon. It's been years since I was there and they say the fishing has only improved.

  14. It's not what I got her....it's what she gave me. Another year of being cancer free. I'm a lucky man. Try and put a ribbon on that gift.
  15. I use last years fruitcake as a wheel stop for my boat trailer. I'm still looking for a place to display my Kia-bass. Pork and Beans don't even have that little remnant of pork fat in them....they just print the word OINK on the lid. My wife just bought a box of Whitman chocolates and the box was double tall as if it had two layers. It had one layer and a ballast layer of nothing but air that smelled like chocolate. Oh well, at least a package of 10 Senkos still has 10 in it. So what is razzleberry dressing Tiny Tim?
  16. Thanks Kent, I caught 4 more about the same size all in about 45 minutes. The best trip of my life to date. My hand still shakes. BUT !!!!!!! When I grow up, I want to be Dwight Hottle. The man is a pig master.
  17. crankbait crankbait crankbait beaver tube
  18. I miss you Burley. Get well and get back to setting us straight ! A prayer a day until you say enough.
  19. Okay, I can't stand it. How many pages where in the paper Wayne was going to read in The shootist ?
  20. Very close !! Bultaco. You are good. Who was your favorite co-star in a Wayne movie and don't say Glenn Campbell ? Mine was Roscoe Brown as Jedediah Nightlinger in the Cowboys. I gotta stop this.
  21. What was the brand of motorcycle used to imitate the 1908 Indian in Big Jake ?
  22. I only knew 5 of the 10. Wayne worked with his son Patrick in several films and his son from another marraige appeared in Big Jake with Patrick. Did you know Wayne appeared in numerous films with a contract actor that was also played the first mate on the ship in the 1933 version of King Kong. What movie did Dennis Hopper appear in with Wayne ? I love this stuff.
  23. I started to fish for smallies seriously about three years ago and would rather go after them than largemouth. My only regret is not getting serious about them 20 years ago.
  24. Wear it at a night tournament.
