  1. Journalistic urination is now terminated. Great resolution.
  2. Yo-Zuri Drum. Looked at it and just knew it was going to catch smallies. Yep, it did.
  3. Fire Tiger. It works in real dirty water. I have a few.
  4. Sweets. My dad had to have some type of baked goods around the house or in his lunch. My mom, bless her heart is a really good cook and bakes some of the best stuff. I'm not diabetic but my penchant for that sweet stuff has me on a constant sugar buzz. My youngest granddaughter has the curse now. " Papa...I want caneeeeeeee."
  5. You displayed some great character. You laughed at yourself and made things right. I once had a fit over some new batteries I had just purchased and installed, dang junk batteries. " Plug the trolling motor in and you'll be fine Doug." I love my wife.
  6. We are home ! Things went well in spite of a scare that Dee might loose her right eye but the surgeon told us the involved area didn't make it that far and the prognosis is very good. We are soooo grateful to all of you for your prayers, thoughts and words of encouragement. Now the healing process starts. My poor sweetie has a bandage over 1/4 of her face and eye. It just brings me to tears. I don't have the words but thank you all. Doug and DeAnn
  7. My wife is going in for surgery in the morning for a new recently discovered cancer. Some of you know she is an 11 year survivor of ovarian cancer and the best part of my life. If you think of it and would, say a prayer for DeAnn. I will be grateful !!
  8. I thought the coverage was alright. There was a good mix of personalities. It was great to see some of the lesser known anglers fishing well and to have them featured. I really think Edwin Evers may have a break out year this year. He's my dark horse to win angler of the year.
  9. Would you consider taking the research one step further? Take a look at Tackle Warehouse as a retailer. You will have to read each comment because they don't apply a 1 to 5 rating scale. Look for rater who have commneted they are repeat buyers. I have to agree with megastrike about the LEWS MG at an MSRP of 129.99.
  10. Three words: Aluminum frame only.
  11. I love both baits. First is depth and then water color. Do I need the type of vibration and flash I get from a spinnerbait or the vibration and rattles of a squarebill? Next is cover. Squarebills will go through alot of cover types well but a spinnerbait may be better. Next is forage although both baits mimic several forage bait types, minnows, crayfish, bluegill, etc but the SB is more versatile for that application. Finally the bass have to help out so I mix it up with both baits. Remember, the spinnerbait can be fished up top in a waking manner, allowed to flutter and fall and so on but the squarebill also can be stopped, will slowly rise and will bump or climb over hard cover in a way unlike a spinnerbait. They each have thier own unique characteristics. Play with each one and experiment. That is the much of the fun of bass fishing. OPTIONS !
  12. Greens and browns. Almost every lure I have has some mix of green and brown in it with the exception of some black blue (jig) and or pearl white (Fluke) lures. Various Crayfish and Bluegill/Perch color patterns are my most productive.
  13. If you have Direct TV, check out the new NBC sports channel and the Outdoor Channel. Plenty of bass related shows. Some are infomercials, some entertainment, some informative and some plain stupid. I caugt a show this past winter that is out of Pennsylvania and is smallmouth rich. I forget the name but it is a very good show, especially for guys who fish rivers for smallies. I miss Classic Patterns the most. I love Fish Fishbourne but his show was, how can I say it without being rude, juvenile.
  14. Absolutely !! Better than that was yeti had some pepperoni made from wild goose and duck. That and some smoked cheese. Those guys even went together and started their own micro brew. I sold my Glock to buy shares.
  15. Well it only leaves me with three more.
  16. Look at the Luhr Jensen Hot Lips in 1/4 and 1/2 ounce and the Yo Zuri Hard Core. Both have been excellent producers for me, especially for smallies. The Hot Lips looks a little wierd but it flat out works.
  17. I was having coffee with Yeti and Sasquatch the other day and trying to come up with a reasonable explaination for the crop circles last fall. It all lays in the pyramids of Peru, that we could agree on. For me, Life as I know it ends on 7-1-2014 when I retire.
  18. I was able to get the time to watch the Classic coverage and the one thing that struck me was the aftermath has no " good Lord...I gotta get some of those baits!!!" The business of fishing intrigues me. Strike King had two home run Classics which is great. I just didn't see that kind of deal this year. The Power Pole got some good comments and promo time but they're more the $5.49. I'm probably the only guy that burnt a brain cell thinking about this.
  19. Cliff, Are you fishing the creek channel edges as the creek leads into the cove ? I'd hit points where the creek enters into the cove with your Bandits and follow the creek channel edge up into the shallows and then work the flats. A spinnerbait would be my cover water lure off the points and the squarebill thrown in and then work your jig at the visible stuff. You are good with a jig so fish your confidence stuff. You'll get bit.
  20. Yo Zuri has been my line of choice for almost two years. I have yet to break a fish off and it handles as well as most any line.
  21. Iv'e been married to my waffle maker for over 38 years.
  22. Sweet. Now if I ever need a kidney I know who to call.
  23. My primary fishing buddy has been generous, sharing locations, techniquies, positions the boat when I back seat to give me casting opporunities, answers any questions about his retrieves or presentations, rolls down the window when he passes gas and has a great sense of humor. If he would just let me fish without those little booties that cover my shoes to keep his carpet perfect, he would be without a flaw.
  24. I have a twin !! I have a twin !!
