  1. The rule is the same regardless of what lure weight you throw. The lure must travel at or beyond the speed the spool rotates to keep up with the rate the line comes off the spool. If the velocity of the lure pulling the line slows, the line coming off the spool has to go some where. Back lash. When the lure slows, so must the rate of spool rotation. Do it by thumb pressure and or cast control features or both. Smaller diameter lines and softer action rods really help with lighter lures.
  2. Beautiful fish. The color on her is awesome.
  3. Cranking a Deep Little N in %*@$!*% color. It's all fun, even light carolina rigged plastics.
  4. Give the man a ceeeegar. Pre Ultra Mag XLT which had the thumb bar. Late 80's. The handle fits any pre-2010 Revo. Love the Swedes.
  5. The lightest I can and stay in contact with the bottom. That could be 1/8 or up to 1/2. I once dropshotted for ling cod using a 1 1/2 ounce. My buddies thought I was crazy but the system works, even in salt water.
  6. Forgot my photo, silly me.
  7. I kind of like them too.
  8. Which models do you own ??
  9. Welcome ! Lot's of great folks here. Have you fished Galesville ?
  10. THat is a popular model in my region for steelhead, jig and bobber fishing. Enjoy !
  11. Clear: silver Light stained: Gold/silver combo Stained: Gold or white turtle back Muddy: Copper hammered. That system has worked for me for a long time. I have fished a painted red/back blade on specific waters but that's a rare occasion.
  12. That's my choice for a worm but since I got ahold of some 4 inch Sharks in Ed's candy craw, that's my go to bait.
  13. How you handle yourself in the midst of a trial will define who you are.
  14. Jerkbaits, small topwaters and small squarebills.
  15. Thanks guys. I finally figured out what resize dimensions to use to post a photo. Changed the avatar with Chubby.
  16. I sound like a broken record but I fished the Lamiglas SR705R for the last five or six years until I tried my buddy's Dobyns 705CB glass. I got my own. I prefer it over the SR705R hands down.
  17. I have a bunch of older rods that I have attachments to and will never let go but I recently got a Dobyns DX745. Oh yeah, that's what I'm talkin' about. If I have a favorite, this is it.
  18. NYBASSIN36 and I are like minded on this one. That is also my favorite spinnerbait. I have several including the deep runner with burner blades. I will admit, I want to try the Northstars. If their spinnerbaits are as nice as thier jigs, it should be a winner.
  19. 8-15 on 4/17/12
  20. Tackle It in Lakeport CA has a special stand up football shakey head with a wide gap Gammi hook. I have had great success with this one. They sell on line.
  21. Front. Set it and leave it. If you are afraid of breaking off, back reel.
