  1. I'm reading your post and Curly's voice is going in my head like he's reading it to me. How can I take you seriously? NYUK, NYUK, NYUK ;D
  2. During my research last year before I bought a boat, one thing that kept coming up was people telling me to stay away from the Ficht. They said that all 2 strokes can be finicky, but the Ficht is the worst of all of them. Especially when it's not used every weekend and it sits unused for a couple weeks. I'm not even close to an expert, but I made sure I spoke with a lot of experts before I bought a boat. (AND, I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night) ;D Oh, and, I bought a boat with a Merc on it.
  3. A piece of 2 inch clear packing tape works great for labeling. Put a piece in the falcon box before you organize your baits. Then write on the tape with a black sharpie after you get the baits where you want. I use this method to label all my boxes on the outside too. If I get a chance, I'll post a pic.
  4. Looks like a blast. It looks like it would be hard to see the waters around you, especially when you've got water running over the canopy. Can you say "Rain-ex"?
  5. Trying to arrange the trip. I noticed while poking around on Google Earth, there's a BPS on hwy 641 in Benton, KY. That looks like around 8 miles from Moor's. RIGHT on the way in. I think I'll buy a ownership share of that store just before you (hopefully WE!!) get there.
  6. Some of you may have already seen this, but just in case you haven't... http://s88.photobucket.com/albums/k186/bigharry_2006/vids/?action=view&current=fullvideo1testversiondelete2.mp4
  7. Precisely why I don't drive a Dodge, and I don't fish with Quantum. I won't get burned again with either of these products.
  8. Anything But Quantum. I will be buying all SHIMANO in the future.
  9. I have lots of them also. But my problem is that I'm dragging them through water.....with no fish in it. My "lowest confidence" baits: Rapala clackin' rap Rage shad 10 inch worms I really like fishing these baits, but I really think I just haven't used them in the proper circumstances. I look at them and I think they gotta be fish catchers. I think it's me, not the baits. Big O... help!
  10. "use the force" Raul!!
  11. Was reading a thread on another board (BBC) and couple of those guys actually think that it's a good idea to spray chemicals like clorox bathroom cleaner with teflon or Liquid wrench silicon lubricant on their bunks so the boat will slide better when loading. Am I a complete baffoon or is it a terrible idea to introduce those chemicals into the very water that we work so hard to protect! One guy posted that he's "been doing that for years"!!!!! I've always just backed the trailer into the water until the bunks are wet so the boat slides up the trailer better. NEVER had a problem. ADDING HARSH CHEMICALS seems like a complete lack of common sense to me. Ok. My rant is over now.
  12. Wow, nobody has an opinion on this one?
  13. Welcome to the Quantum-Hater's club Ern! I happened to be a card carrying member. I bought two Quantum BC's last year. Got a TOTAL of 11 casts out of them BOTH. Yeah, that's TOTAL. Got 3 casts out of the first KVD sig series reel (similar to a Code series, about an $80 reel) and the gears froze up. Returned to BPS. Got 8 casts out of an identical reel I bought off a local guy for $25. Thumb bar froze up after a long cast. Couldn't move anything. Spool just free-wheeling. Ended up hand-over-handing the line to get my crankbait back. I then stripped the line off the spool, removed the reel from the rod, and BAPTIZED it. A.B.Q. from now on.
  14. This is a smaller version of my spinnerbait box. I absolutely love falcon boxes for their innovative ways of organizing tackle. The spinnerbaits are held in by the wire and mine never come out. They're really easy to pick the bait you need, I have mine organized by color, then by size. If you have room, I think you'll like it. http://www.***.com/Falcon_FTO_401_Spinnerbait_Box/descpage-FTO401.html
  15. I've done very little research on this thing. I bought this on an impulse about 10 years ago. It's been just sitting on a shelf and it might be time to send it to somebody who can appreciate it more than me. I think this is a Moonlight #1900 from around the early 1920's. I do not know how much it's worth. I'd like you all to give me an idea what I should ask for it when I post it in the flea market sometime in the future.
  16. David, If I'm ever out in the CA delta, I'll look you up. Maybe you can show me where to land a new PB LM. I'll be using a Dobyn's. And that's a wrap!
  17. Next summer, take that Nitro out to the middle of the lake...and sink it. Then take the insurance money and buy a Ranger. (spoken in jest, of course)
  18. Wow Wayne, You've really got that thing dialed in. Did it take you long to learn what settings worked best for that type of image clarity? Great images Wayne. thanks. (I hope this doesn't qualify as hijacking.)
  19. Does your boat run on vegetable oil Mike? Is it Merc? Is it age? Is it ethanol? :-/ :-/ :-/
  20. Interesting, I have a short piece of new merc line and I can see the plastic liner inside it too. It just isn't separated yet. Is that from ethanol or what? You'd think they would learn from this and make something that works.
  21. 1999 OEM Mercury fuel line. Lines are getting changed (obviously). I split the line with a knife and separated it with a toothpic. Question is: Are there any fuel lines that I can replace this with that won't do this?
  22. I'm thinking it's the big German ones with the deep voices. You know, the ones that can drink you under the table. I think in Australia they call them Donks.
