  1. It's the same crappy weather here too. I finally got tired of it and loaded up the boat and went to the lake. It was 45 degrees and raining with winds at 10-15mph. I had a great time! After my fingers went numb, I was fine.
  2. I think if someday money becomes no object. I'll get a Skeeter with the SHO.
  3. Don't forget to add a little dielectric grease after cleaning each connection before putting them back together. This will keep the corrosion from returning to that connection. Permatex makes a good grease. I think they call it "Dielectric Tune Up Grease". You should be able to find it at your auto parts store.
  4. Distressed commuter: "Can you tell me what the problem is?" Hillbilly mechanic: "Yep, lessee here, HMMM, Amma thaynkin' she's broke! Yep, she's broke!"
  5. Lund I admire your perspective. Glenn's got it right too. Just like guns, cellphones aren't the problem, people are. The cellphone affords me certain luxuries that I didn't have twenty years ago. The most important of which is the ability to call for help when you or your family are in a jam. My issue lies with the inconsiderate user. Too many people do not realize that they just DO NOT HAVE TO ANSWER the cellphone when it rings! If you're engaged with someone face to face, LET IT RING! The person in front of you deserves that respect. Obviously business is a little different. Many times phone calls are money in many cases. But that's still no cause to be disrespectful to those you are with. Everyone that calls my cellphone regularly knows that if I don't answer, I either can't answer, or I DON'T WANT to answer. No cause for concern, I'll call back.
  6. Mine stays in all the time unless I take it out to download images into my computer. Then it goes right back in.
  7. WHAT!!??? Kinder? Gentler?? NOOOO!! I really enjoyed that surley member that you used to be!!! Don't change because some silly 'ol owner named Glenn asked you too!! Seriously Mike, Congrats! You'll be a great MOD.
  8. I'm using it too. I like that the tabs are up top. I can't tell if it's faster though. Overall, Firefox still has a few advantages over others IMHO.
  9. Nothing like a little Johnny Cash to help with things!
  10. NOW, I am COOL!!! Thanks Glenn!!
  11. I see Wayne... makes sense. Thanks for the info.
  12. Technically, it was never BELOW the boat. It was six inches off the starboard side. Basically the same as passing very close by a steel seawall. It's a vertical face.
  13. Pretty good deal on a Terrova here...My link
  14. These are actually from Barkley, not Kentucky sorry bout that. I passed within a few inches of barge moorings to see if I could mark some fish stacked up behind them. The dam had 10 gates open which created a pretty strong current and the fish were hanging out in the current breaks behind them. If you look closely you can see the fish. Interesting question though... Why did the LEFT side show an echo as well? I passed by them on the right only. You'll notice that there's a strong echo on the right side and a weaker one on the left. Obviously there's nothing on the left so why is that reflection there?
  15. LOL Mike! I wish I could say you are the winner.
  16. Soda, My sensitivity settings are changed several times every outing depending on the conditions. What they were when pic #2 was taken, I don't know. I agree that the sensitivity looks a little high. As for the pic itself, despite my failures in settings, I think it shows some bait balls amongst the interference. I really like the bottom soundings in the pic. I see a few structure targets worth fishing. Pic #1 is a mystery to me. I really like your creek channel idea. My only guess was that due to my slow speed, I marked several fish swimming through "the fan". Similar to pic #3, but not as distorted. I marked it because I was a little puzzled by what I saw and wanted to study it later. I liked pic #4 because of the few large, suspended fish that are marked in the right SI pane. I marked it more for the waypoint that day so I could turn around and hit them with a crankbait. I boated none of those fish. My main reason for sharing these images is to glean any knowledge that some of you might post that I might not have already thought of. So far it's working so please do not hesitate to post any ideas, no matter how crazy you might think they are.
  17. Trying this attach feature...
  18. A few more to talk about... Guesses welcomed... #1 #2 #3 #4
  19. interesting ideas fellas. I'll try that.
  20. Oh one other thing... I don't know what kind of boat you have but if you want a 36 volt TM, first make sure you have the room for the three batteries.
  21. I do this exact thing! (except I'm a Humminbird guy) It's a LOT more comfortable scanning from the console too! No more sore backs! Also... Get the largest thrust you can afford. You might need it if you plan on using that spotlock in the wind. I have a Terrova 101lb thrust with iPilot on my 18 foot bass boat. It's NOT too much thrust.
  22. X2. I've had great experiences with Minn Kota's customer service. They should be able to help you out.
  23. Best thing invented since the hook. You'll be thrilled with it. If you have the chance, DO IT! I love mine. I can fish in strong wind and current where other TM's cannot hold the boat. Spot lock is the shizznit!
