  1. I just finished speaking with an Indiana DNR guy that nets and records fish for population studies and he told me that there are smallmouth in my favorite lake that he measured at 26 inches long! He said they looked fat and healthy! That's REALLY close to the state record size!
  2. Great catch. Terrible decision afterwards. The fish was kept and was going to be made into a wall mount. Nothing like removing the best line of genetics in the lake! It was about to spawn. You would think that a tournament fisherman would know better! Take a ton of pics and measurements and release her! Retarded!
  3. Last year I went from a motor guide 41lb, to a Minn Kota Terrova 101lb trolling motor. I can appreciate the difference you're about to go through. You're in for a few smiles!
  4. If I have help, I unhook before I back down the ramp. The bunks are dry and don't slip. When loading, I always hook up before pulling up the ramp. Wet bunks are more likely to slip.
  5. Looks like they're kinda cool, but they do have a warning to not unhook your boat before launching, and always hook your boat after recovery before pulling up the ramp. Sounds like they get pretty slippery when wet. I too am looking for something better.
  6. Mine stay on the boat in the garage.
  7. I was thinking that you could make the garage fit the boat!
  8. Ooh man, I like the sound of that! Flippin & rippin!
  9. That old TD doesn't even look like a thru hull TD.
  10. I guess you're right Tom! You aren't real smart... Sheesh! EVERYBODY knows there's only 365 days in a year! Wow! What a dummy! (maybe a little tough to tell the self-deprecating humor in this post)
  11. My condolences Sean.
  12. My mother tells the story of watching the cupboard doors flying open and soup cans flying out across the room. Happened when she was a teenager in a house they were renting at the time. Needless to say, they didn't pay next months rent.
  13. First car? Backseat's too big in a Lincoln. Skip it. He doesn't need a shaggin wagon.
  14. It's a bote that don't flote nomo.
  15. I do it all myself. That way I control the pain. Pain is just weakness leaving the body. Man up!
  16. Great thread... I must have missed some "butthurt" posts that got deleted...
  17. Shimano Bantam Magnumlite 2000 GT. I was about 12 years old when my mom sprang for that reel and surprised the heck out of me. I spent hours standing on our front porch stoop casting into the puddles at the end of the driveway with a practice plug. I could have knocked the knees out from under a junebug! I got so good at casting that thing that I was picking out individual rocks to hit from about 60 feet. I was so proud of that reel! I was on top of the world!
  18. You may not realize it yet, but YOU'RE the one who's been hooked! You will never be the same! Let me introduce you to a lil guy called the bait monkey!
  19. do you have any jigs with a Wide Gap cutting point hook?
  20. anyone know where the BEST and nearest tackle store is to the Hampton Inn?
  21. Wacky rigged senkos can be a nightmare for a beginner unless you are using a weedless hook. For you to succeed, it is really important that you spend as much time in the articles and FAQ's sections of this site. There is more information there than you can imagine. Do exactly what some of those articles tell you and then come here and post some of your questions for us to help you out. Good luck! Looking forward to reading some of your results!
  22. I'll probably have room for you Simp. Right now I have two riders, with room for one more comfortably, three more if needed. I was planning on taking out the back seats of my Yukon XL and riding four, but if needed I can leave them in and fit two extra guys pretty easily. One way or the other I'lll probably have room. I have more seats than friends! . Sounds like your boat would come in handy this year. Let me know.
  23. How are your carpentry skills?
  24. Good schtuff. Thanks Tom.
  25. That's a sweet ride man! I know, I have one just like it in dark blue!
