  1. Oh yeah, it pulls a boat like a dream. I can't even tell my 18' bass boat is back there. That 6.2 doesn't even snort. Gas mileage is a whole different story.
  2. This is exactly how I mounted my 1197 at the console. I chose a Ram swing arm mount. It's left of the console and I just swing it around when I go to the bow. It works pretty good. I also didn't like the option of mounting a $2000 piece of equipment to the right of the console. Something goes wrong and it's in the drink.
  3. LOL... I'll give you that one... Anybody but Bill Romanowski...I don't wanna end up like Marcus Williams...
  4. Have you traded your Chronarch 50mg's for the Core 50 mg? IYO is it better or just different? What have you noticed are the improvements?
  5. So you're saying it's not so bad?
  6. Have you pulled a boat yet? I get around 12-13 mpg pulling a boat with mine. I average around 14 in the city too. It will be interesting to see what I get going to Guntersville in a couple weeks. It will be the first long distance trip with this new truck.
  7. Can you spot the malapropism?
  8. Sweeeeeet! Um, is Big O allowed to play?
  9. Bad deal. You're not alone. We've all had something like this happen at one time or another.
  10. Tom, I think 60 minutes might have an opening for an op ed piece. I see a striking resemblance to one fine writer named Mr. Rooney... may he rest in peace. Nice post. NorcalBassin...that DX 743 is a terrible rod! I think you should sell it right away, they're not worth much. Do you take PayPal?
  11. Why do they call them apartments when they're all stuck together?
  12. It would have been funny to sit at the roadside and watch the faces of all the motorists driving by.
  13. "Honey, can you go find this top in a size 2, this one is too big."
  14. Fish ( Ghoti ), I can't pm on this iPad so I'll post it for ya. Count me plus one in for the swah-ray. I'd love to help in some way. I'll be arriving in the evening of the 21st. So maybe if you want me to bring some bottles of wine or something let me know. Simp, I still have room in my truck. Be glad to have ya. Keep me posted.
  15. You ask why. Allow me to explain it to you in a respectful, polite way. Your "observations" seem particularly judgmental considering that you appear to know none of these guys you speak of. You are judging them by what they are wearing, and that it doesn't match what they a using. It seems very narrow-minded and projects a caustic attitude. You shouldn't be surprised by all the negative responses. Usually when a thread takes on an argumentative tone, it's "good night Irene".
  16. Can't go. I'm on vacation in Vegas, rented a red 2012 Camaro SS convertible and driving from Vegas to grand canyon on route 66. I'll fish plenty in a couple weeks!
  17. I have one sticker. A Bass Resource sticker on the back of my motor. That's all I need. People see that, they know I'm cool!
  18. Look around... You're out in left field. Maybe he should have said "curtains". Thread lock seems inevitable now.
  19. I really don't want to come off sounding like a naysayer here but I think it's important to know... Although Carolina rigging is a very good way to catch fish, I would be slow to recommend it to a beginner. Carolina rigging is something that you need to be a little polished at detecting subtle strikes. The way it is rigged makes it more difficult to detect the strike. If you don't detect it right away, you will be pulling a lot more hooks that are swallowed deeply in the gullet. Remember to keep the slack out of your line as much as possible.
  20. After reading the rest of the posts another thought comes to mind... When I'm driving the boat, if my backseater is somehow left too close to shore, or left dangling out in deeper, unproductive water, I would expect him to speak up. Sometimes I get so into my own pattern that I forget about the other guy. I'm a naturally considerate person and if I'm making the day miserable for another guy, I want to hear about it! Even if that means both of us on the front deck, I'll make the necessary adjustments without a second thought. This goes for pattern issues too. If I'm struggling and you think you know where they are, speak up. Unless you want to go out into 70 ft of water and bobber fish, I'll probably change in a heartbeat.
  21. I am a boater and am usually at the front. However, I would enjoy the opportunity to do this very thing. Especially at Guntersville for the Roadtrip I think it would be fun.
  22. WOW! This sound exactly like the wasteiod I was about to describe. I have to work with this turd every day. His vacation is my vacation. He is the single laziest person I've ever met. Thinks he knows everything about everything and that you are beneath him. He whines constantly that everybody else has got a better deal in life and that he always gets the hind teat. Talks bad about everyone, I mean everyone. Then is a total politician when that person is around! Easily my biggest challenge person.
  23. All good valid points. IMO if I caught it, I'd do everything I could possibly do to keep it alive, then after the circus is over, turn her loose. I'd have a replica mount made, and then I'd go out again and again to try to catch her again. Just my .02.
  24. I have one and I use it hard on one of my cranking rods. I had a squeaky bearing after the second season. I sent it to Mike at DVT and got it super tuned and it is one of the longest casting, best reels I own now. It's a great reel. I'd recommend keeping it.
  25. There has to be a good way to get it weighed and all that state record stuff done without killing the fish. The pro tours do it every week.
