  1. I am bummed but will not be able to go this weekend. I have Thursday the 11th off work, Veterans Day. Anyone want to go? BTW, do you launch at the Pickwick State Park boat launch and go through the locks to get below the dam or launch on the other side? I drove over there last year to launch and there was no real dock to tie to and it looked like I might damage my boat trying to put in there... :-/
  2. Fished Yellow Creek Monday. Water temperature 75 degrees. Shad all over the place and the bass are active. Very windy day but productive. Cranks and T-rigged Rage Tail Craw seemed to work best. Good Luck!
  3. The temps have to have dropped with all the cooler night/day temperatures. I'm hitting Pickwick this Monday and Tuesday... Want to link up?
  4. Trip to Pickwick was good, water temerature is coming down- between 83-86*. Fishing picking up too. Caught five fish. All on jig/Rage Craw and drop shot fluke minnow. I vote we fish Pickwick for the fruit jar, question is when?
  5. Any of the three would be fine. I'm hittin Pickwick tonight and all day tomorrow. I'll let you all know how it goes...
  6. I'm in. I don't have a great deal of experience though. What is a fruit jar tournament?

  10. I live in Bartlett as well and frequent Pickwick, launching from the State Park. Let me know if you would like to get together and make the trip- split the gas cost! Your boat or mine... Let me know!

  13. I'm thinking of hitting the TN river this weekend south of the lake. I'm coming from Memphis and heading up I-40. Any sweet spots near I-40??? Best place to put in? Baits??? Any advice would be appreciated!
  14. Awesome trip soopd... Did you fish the bear creek area? Smallies? I might try to get out later this week or Saturday. Thanks for the info!
  15. I have not fished the Bear Creek area, just up north near the Pickwick Dam in TN. Great water, and this weekend sounds promising with 60+ degree temps warming the water. I've had success with the texas rigged worms, black with blue tail as well as red eye shad (bronze or silver) and rapala jerk baits. Best of luck and let me know how you do. Maybee I'll see you there, I'm going to try to get out on Saturday!
  16. My son and I hit Pickwick Sunday. Launched at State Park near dam and fished headwater to Alabama border. Started at 930am and fished to about 4pm. Slow am but afternoon picked up. Water was 44 when we started and 47 at the end of the day. Drop shot, jerk, and redeye shad. Red eye produced three quality LG mouth in about 8 ft near drop offs in ship channel. Hunting for smallies but no hook-ups... Going to hit it next weekend in warmer weather! Anyone going?
  17. From west TN, Bartlett. Just got here last fall. Fished Pickwick a few times, and some local lakes (HerbParsons,Horseshoe). Might go down to Sardis this weekend for a day trip... Do you get out often?
  18. Just finished up a two day trip at Pickwick. Launched from the Pickwick state park and headed up toward the Alabama/Mississippi border. Tried the humps with shakey heads and chigger craw, x-raps, spinnerbaits, texas rigged yum worms, and float-n-fly... Fished hard and only caught two fish. About a 2 lb largemouth and a yellow perch. Current was running toward the dam too. Someday I'll figure out these smallies! :-/
  19. Hey group! New guy from Millington, in the Navy stationed at NSA Millington. Just bought a 190TX Bass Tracker with a 115 merc. Looking for hotspots within a few hours drive... My 11 year old son have tried a couple local lakes (Glenn Springs, Herb Parsons, Horseshoe in Arkansas) with limited success. Got out to Pickwick in November but no luck there either. If anyone has ANY suggestions I would sure appreciate it. Have a great Holiday! Jeff
