  1. Is there an annual trip scheduled this year? I attended Pickwick and Guntersville in the past but have been unavailable for a bit. Would love to jump in if we're having one this year!!! #funtimes!!!!
  2. Great article! Love the Chick, been exploring for three years now. Much different than the Tennessee River that I'm used to. Like anywhere, I've had good days and bad. Tide dependent, and I have not quite figured that out. I think most would recommend hitting it on slack tide (falling), but I've not noticed a difference having caught 'em on both rising and falling... Regardless, another wonderful place in our United States!
  3. My son and I had a great trip to the Smith Mountain State Park, with two solid days of winter fishing on the lake. As expected, the bite was slow but we did catch fish. Finally figured out that the big greenies wanted an ITO jerk bait, and they only ate for about a two hour window in the mid morning... Everything else we threw was not attractive to the sluggish LM. Water temp was about 45, rising to 47 by afternoon. Hunted typical winter patterns, changes in depth, humps, bluffs, and points. Found them on the leeward side of windblown points. Water gin clear and surroundings were simply breathtaking. We'll be returning to this great lake.
  4. Fellow BR Members- New to the Norfolk area, and need to take my 2009 Bass Tracker PT190 in for regular maintenance. Has a Mercury Opitmax 115 - and would like any recommendations on a certified mechanic in the area that you trust... Thanks for your time and consideration! Swabby
  5. Thanks everyone for the great advice. Nice to reconnect - and hope to see you on the water soon!
  6. Fellow BR Members- Been out of pocket for the past year, Navy has kept me relatively busy and my boat has been sadly inactive... Just relocated to Chesapeake, Virginia and I'm looking for any suggestions on areas to explore here in the southern part of the state. Excited to get back in the game, and now that the house is settled and my bride is happy - I CAN BEGIN PREPARING FOR SOME FISHING!!!! Any information and/or advice would sincerely be appreciated! 7. Roadtrip 2014... AWESOME!!!! Nate and I had a great time and look forward to next year. Posted are a couple of pictures of the larger fish. The brownie was caught on the last day, and went 4-12, what a way to close out the trip!!!!
  8. Nate and I are on the move from VA. See everyone tonight!
  9. My son Nate and I are getting psyched for the Road Trip... I attached a couple of photos of some big brownies to get your heart a pumpin' . First from Wilson Lake in late April 2012 and the second from May 2010 in the tail water of the Wilson Dam.
  10. I'm staying at the Wheeler State Park Lodge, and they have a pretty good breakfast every am... I think it's about $8 and it was buffet style...
  11. King George - Near Naval Base Dahlgren.
  12. Sam, Fry - Want to hook up some time for spring fishing? I'm relatively new to the Potomac, but would really enjoy the opportunity to share some time on the river with some of our fellow BR members... PM me if you are interested. Jeff
  13. Thanks guys, appreciate the input. I'll keep you posted of my trips to the lakes in VA!
