  1. I saw your posts Cowboy. I tend to crawl out from under my rock in the winter and see what the rest of the world is doing to pass the time. I can only stare at maps and read my log book so many times. You have my email address if you get bored.
  2. No but there may be some ice along certain edges. You guys got two feet of snow up there did you not? That place is terrible when it comes to trying to drive somewhere and I know it is insane when it snows. You better wait until March to start thinking about Briery. Put in for a weekday off to avoid the insanity of the "Weekend Warriors".
  3. I think I got that PM. Something about wacky rigs on creek channels. You slay me Mr. P. Yes tis me. I got bored and ventured out. Apparently its all the same though. The visual of the graves however was a good twist I must admit. I will see you on the other side.
  4. Sam is right, there are so many spots to fish in this area its crazy. I imagine it certainly limits your ability to hit some of our top producers without a boat but his recommendation to find a club was gold. I assume you are a young gun so you have to start somewhere. Save up and buy a trolling motor. Always keep your eyes peeled for a used John boat or even a canoe. The process does not happen over night but maybe by the fall you will be shoving off on your own and we will be reading of your success. I will shoot you a PM that will help you find someone to fish with.
  5. Check your P.M.'s
  6. Thai I graduated from West Springfield H.S. I lived ten minutes from B. Lake and spent 30 years in Norhtern Va. I used to drive right past the Res and the lake to fish elsewhere. B. Lake is tired, but if you had no or limited options I guess it woulod do. I woulod fish it at night though. You would be vey surprised at how many citations come out of Swift Creek Res. Actually its about twenty times that of B. Lake. Again I drive by it to fish Briery though. Mechanicsville, I hope we have been of some help here and I am going to shove off now. Thai have a good night.
  7. This guy lives in Mechanicsville. I would not wish Burke lake on anyone. The fish school fairly tight on Briery Creek Lake in the winter and it is still the best trophy lake in Va. That is only a one or one and a half hour drive. Sandy River Res. is a little closer. Lake Nottoway off of RT 360 is even closer. Swift Creek res is only 30 minutes from you. The Chick was not a bad choice either. The York River is not a bad idea. You can catch striper in the lower James right now. Call Eberwiens catfishing and he gaurantees citation blue cats on the James River in Hopewell which is just down the road from you. I have caught then with him up to 72 pounds. Not a largemouth but still a goliath fish and fun to catch on a ST Croix musky rod. You see Glenn, I can play nice.
  8. Thanks alot for the update Charlie. Two more years...love it.
  9. Ah, the golden rule. He who has the gold makes the rules. I will not argue but rather move on and stick to PM's Thanks Glen
  10. Hey Charlie, if you are permitted to, please keep us up to date on the lake. Thanks
  11. I posted a lengthly reply but it seems as though the people that run this site only let you read what they want you to read. Sorry fellas but I guess we can not talk on this site. What a shame. Shoot me a private message if you would like to talk fishing.
