  1. a friend of mine gave up fishing and gave me some of his stuff. one of which was a lucky craft live pointer 95sp. the back of it is made like a swim bait???? any one tried these?? any good???
  2. at this lake i fish, there was a large 15ft flat that my graph showed to have a lot of fish on it. i tried several different things and only caught a couple. the fish seemed to be about 12-13ft deep. i was thinking of trying a drop shot, but was wondering if this is too shallow for that??? any other tips? water is 87* and pretty clear
  3. could be a number of things... -the bottom. if it had grass, stumps, rock, mud. things like that can make a difference. -bait fish. did you notice if there were any in those areas and not in others? -current. not sure if it is a issue in your case. but it could.
  4. caught 3 of my keepers on a robo worm on a shakey head and 2 on them on a buzzbait rocky points, about 8-12 ft
  5. not fished with, but i spoke with blake shelton at a launch ramp once. very nice/down to earth guy
  6. Mods, first off excuse me for putting this in probably the wrong forum. but i know this one is viewed the most, and i want everyone to hear this. i won my first club tournament this weekend. im 23 years old and i just started fishing a year ago. i didnt have anyone to teach me, so i leaned on this site to help me - as it obviously has. the tournament wasnt huge (only 40 people i think), and it took 12 lbs for me to win. but from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. this meant more to me than a lot of things that have happened in my life. and i appreciate you all so much. so as sincerely as i can put it - thank you all.
  7. GYCB Fat Ika. Rig it backwards with a 4/0 gammy wide gap. and then its SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!!
  8. senkos at night????????????????? what colors????
  9. hey guys, im trying my hand at night fishing again :/ ive struggled to say the least. my question is when throwing 8"-10" worms at night, how do you fish them? drag hop? both? go slow/fast? also, i know everyone says black, but what are your thoughts about a black worm with a chart tail? or something like that? and lastly, what size bullet weight do you use and do you peg it? Thanks!!!
  10. so when you fish this - you just cast it out, let it sink then drag and shake occasionally???? im clueless haha. also, where would you use this??? im thinking the same places you would a senko type lure?? or maybe somewhere with a solid bottom??? sorry for all the questions, its just that this is really interesting me for some reason and im clueless....
  11. has anyone every tried this? if so, what type of worm do you use? senko? finesse? trick? also, how do you fish them? i was just thinking of a way to give them a different look other than what theyve seen all year. any other info is appreciated. thanks!
  12. i hear all kinds of guys talking about havin luck on the color purple. specifically in finesse worms... so what water clarity is good for the purple/plum/cottom candy colors
  13. guys, i've tried the night fishing thing 5 different times, and i only have caught 2 fish total. ive tried big black colorado spinners, big black worms, jitterbugs, frogs..... i just dont know what im doing wrong. i fish the same places i do in the day and i catch fish during the day. so do you have 1 or 2 lures that i could probably catch 2 or 3 on if i threw em all night? im just really, really struggling with this and if things dont change, i will be a daylight only guy haha
  14. alright guys. im in a club that has a night tournament for charity this year. and ive never fished in one. ive read a few posts about lures. so im pretty much just going to try a spinner w/ big colorado blade, big black worm, and and big balck jig-n-pig. but my question is where do you try to fish? and do you changed your retrieve any at all? and a bonus question, senkos are my "safety net" if i have trouble, do they work well at night??? thanks!
  15. I had the opportunity to meet Jeff Kreit at a sporting show. He has a great story about how he made it. to sum it up, he had a career and a family (so obviously he was busy) but he made it a point to push through and make it happen. he tells it much better. and he is the most down to earth person you will ever meet. one reason he is my favorite
  16. Has anyone every fished this lake? im taking a few days off work with some buddies and we will be fishing here in 2-3 weeks.
