  1. 1) Which brand and model should I get(fluorocarbon lines/leader)? 2)what i meant is what's the best knot for braided line when tight the knot directly to the lure like crankbait or soft plastic? Thanks for all the tips.
  2. which fluorocarbon line do you recommend for use as a leader to 40LB prower pro braid for baitcaster and how long should it be? What's the best knot for braided line other than palomar knot? Thanks
  3. I got one of these reel for cheap($60 from craigslist 4 months ago) and comes down one word-solid after few months of ownership(best abu round reel ever). It cast extremely far and very smooth. I sold my reel 1 month after i brought it cause I mostly fish for bass/sometimes pike and prefer low profile, the model I had is RN60 HC which mean high capacity with power handle and its the largest in the record line up, which is suitable for large freshwater like monster pike and muskie and samon or you can use it for sw fishing, the carbon drag will offer beastly 15lb of drag pressure and will never let you down. So if ur targeting bass/pike, get the smaller rn40 or rn50 and rn60/rn60 HC for muskie/samon and sw fishing. PS: The RN60/RN60 HC would be a great chioce if you're trolling since they both have the clicking line alarm on the side. Happy fishing
  4. Thanks so much for those useful tips everyone! especially to Reel Mechanic and cart7t
  5. Then hit the thumbar and spin the spool, if you have about 10 sec of free spool the reels spool bearings has been properly lubed if not then someone. Right?
  6. Reel Mechanic Quote: set the cast control cap just tight enough to have no lateral play in the spool can anyone explain this, what does mean to just tight enough to have no lateral play in the spool. THanks
  7. The deal is someone is selling me his shimano chronarch 101B for $100 after he sold me his st.croix rod, he's saying that $100 is great deal and he said " if I were to post on this site I would be asking $180." Well To me that sounds like too good to be true, so i told him to wait and I'm not sure to get it or not.
  8. I know many people like myself would spend money on a good conditon used baitcasting reel because the money cost less than compare to getting one new. So what are the things to be aware of when buying a used baitcasting reel and tips? What would you do when checking the reel in person before paying the money? Thanks alot
  9. Alright thanks alot for your help. Happy fishing everyone
