  1. I get mine at Hobby Lobby. I get black, white, brown 20 guage wire for $2 for 300 feet. Cant beat it.
  2. I own a Century WASR AK 47 and i LOVE it.
  3. Thanks gentlemen.
  4. Thats just ugly
  5. Where can i purchase the carbon lite handle?
  6. Bomber Model A in rootbeer chart black/blue jig Sammy in american shad Strike King 6xd in chart sexy shad chart spinnerbait The key bait: the one you have confidence in
  7. As the title reads, will an MGX reel handle fit on a Revo S reel? If so, where do i purchase the MGX handle from? I understand i would have to get the drag star also, so im hoping that would fit also.
  8. this is an awesome thread. Ill see if i can get pics on here. I have an original floating rapale with a nice deep toothmark from a muskie, and a Rebel Pop R that has caught exactly 200 fish and has been retired to spend the rest of its life in a case on my shelf hanging behind my bar.
  9. I try to keep it at 60 strands or under. But its all personal preferance. If you have confidence in 100 strand skirts, then by all means tie 100 strands.
  10. nice, color looks killer. I can imagine that would be a Pike magnet on some of the Wisconsin lakes i fish.
  11. The Chicago store is in Bolingbrook. But before the Bolingbrook store came the Gurnee store was considered the Chicago store.
  12. I fish a pond that has vegetation along the shore and the carp go in the vegetation in the middle of summer. I take a hook and ill it with sweet corn. I place a bobber at about whatever depth keeps the corn at mid depth (6 feet of water, bobber at 3 feet etc) I throw the bobber and corn to just outside the weed edge. It gets bit most of the time. My wie goes bass fishing with me and when she gets bored i do this for her. Not many freshwater fish that will fight like a 10lb plus carp. I have caught a few on a fly rod when the cottonwood trees are shedding. They are a runaway train on a fly rod.
  13. Not saying they dont care. But on several occasions i have called the IDNR and reported the incident. I stayed in the area for several hours and noone showed up. Its just frustrating, I respect everything they do, but if theyre spread so thin, hire more officers.
  14. I use the Sufix ProMix copoly on most my rods. I find it at my local Farn n Fleet for $9 for a 300 yard spool. It has become my favorite line. I have had no negatives with it, and its unbelievably cheap. Iv used it for jigs, swimbaits, flipping, frogs, drop shotting, and everything in between. Downfall is no tackle outlets sell it, so if my local store ever closes, im in trouble.
  15. I have bad experience with the bucket fishermen. On the illinois river, there is only one spot that i catch decent smallies from. It is where a creek runs into the river. Well these bucket fishermen (all foreign) line the creek mouth. Throw bait nets. Keep everything they catch from smallmouth too white bass. Then they use the shad they catch to catch smallies, flatheads, white bass, largemouth. Then they keep them. They also leave behind all the garbage they have accumulated. I watched as they left the spot, i took the boat to shore and started picking up there garbage. I counted 46 smallmouth cut up bodies, tons of catfish, several largemouth, and tons of white bass. A lot of the smallmouth they cut up looked to be 12 inches and under. They go down there with 20 plus people, each with 2+ rods. Then they have a couple guys taking the coolers back and forth from the vehicles. The illinois river isnt the greatest bass fishery, so it needs all the help it can get. These guys kill this stretch of river and its frustrating. Our local DNR doesnt care, as long as theyre not harming "the great walleye/sauger," they dont care. I pulled up to this spot one time and a guy threw a weighted snagging hook at my boat. I keep a .45 in the boat, i almost went postal. Its just a lack of respect. My buddys get a boat load of asian carp and sell them to the bucket boys for good money. I dont even bother.
  16. Can we get a pic of that new gill color. Pretty pretty pretty please. If you dont want to show a pic you can just send me a few jigs.
  17. I throw hollow body swimbaits a lot and Mattlures gill and bass. All have caught me decent fish. When i first started throwing swimbaits i would give it 5 casts and never throw it again. Now if i want to fish swimbaits, i throw it allllll day. I have my best luck throwing hollow bodys in grass and trees. I like to throw the Mattlures gill and bass on weed edges. I swim the bass, but i use the gill like a jig. Just kind of scooting it along the bottom.
  18. I have peg boards full of plastics, unopened hard baits and such. I am very very organized until my second or 3rd time out. Then i have stuff everywhere.
  19. I like to use them like a swim jig. I throw it in weeds, wood and every other nasty thing i can find. I fish deep clear strip mines where structure often sits in 40+ fow. I cast past the structure, let the shadalicious sink to the bottom and then reel through the brush. It is a timely process and doesnt always work. But 6 of my ten top bass have come off this bait and technique. It just not a big fish bait either, i catch a lot of bass on this bait.
  20. I have to drill a hole in the ice to get to my winter bass. Soooooooooooo no comment.
  21. Good grub. I use Fat Alberts as swim jig trailers, but i fish the rage grubs on jig heads due to the slower fall rate.
  22. 22 responses and not one person saying the Yum Craw Bug. This is my go to craw bait when they wont bite anything else. I throw it as a jig trailer, rig it on a skirtless football head, T rig it with a 1/8 oz weight and it has a sloooooooow fall. I love paca craws and rage craws also. I only throw the paca craw as a trailer though, never had luck with it T rigged by itself.
  23. I rig mine by themselves on a weighted EWG 7/0 hook. Now that i have a nice supply, i might rig them up on a swim jig. I always wanted too but didnt want to waste a bait.
  24. HOT CRAW. Thats the first name i thought of when i saw that craw crank.
