  1. check ebay, theyll have it. Or just google it and you will track some down.
  2. You all have good points about frogs, but this isnt a normal frog. Its a chunk of plastic that weighs maybe 2 ounces and doesnt float, iv tried swimming it on top and its useless. I have seen where people use then as trailers on jigs. There is really no working it like a rage toad or a hollow body frog. The only way i could think would work would be to C-rig it.
  3. I have yet to use mine, but most of the reviews say it wont hold up. I have seen where the tail comes off on the first bass. Im really excited to throw these, so im kind of dissapointed with the bad reviews.
  4. Good looking rifles
  5. I was just wondering if anyone has a fishing buddy or buddies that do something minor or major that gets under your skin? I have a buddy who keeps his baitcaster close to free spool and backlashes every 20 casts or so. He casts further than me a lot, but hes always picking out backlashes. Whenever i ask him why he doesnt tighten up the brakes he says it is because he can cast farther than me. Id rather keep my line in the water than picking out backlashes. It really bothers me when were on his boat instead of mine because instead of keeping the boat in position with the trolling motor, hes too busy picking out his "professional overrun."
  6. When i was learning how to use a baitcaster i put the brakes on all the way almost. Then id gradually loosen them as i got more comfortable. I still keep my brakes pretty tight compared to most. Id rather lose 5 feet on my cast than pick a backlash out every 10 casts.
  7. I dont even bother with a trailer, just a trailer hook. I used to put a grub on the back, then i started using a trailer hook and no plastic trailer and my hookup ratio went up significantly. I would say close to 50% of my bass are hooked on only the trailer hook.
  8. I can honestly say i dont know how to fish these, i hated mine so i just gave them away. One of my dumber tackle purchases.
  9. A Revo MGX with a Ducket rod. I have a Duckett rod and absolutely love it.
  10. I wanted a Revo SX. They were all sold out, so i settled for a Revo S, which is fine because i already own 6 of them. I was actually glad i didnt get the SX, i ended up getting a Veritas rod and got a $25 rebate for buying a Abu rod and reel. So i saved money for a rod by not getting the more expensive SX.
  11. When i first started fishing the strip mines i had trouble finding structure. I found that when i panfished it helped me find bass. When we panfished we would face the wind and have the boat horizontal so we drift with our lines out in front. Everytime i would get a snag i would mentally make a note. Then when i would go back and bass fish, id cast around the general area looking for the snag.
  12. I do not use a laser. Its my concealed carry gun, so a laser would prevent it from fitting in the holster correctly.
  13. 18 degree temperature drop from thursday to friday, that didnt help. Looks like most the anglers were wearing winter gear.
  14. My main body of water i wish is a strip mine with water clarity up to 30 feet. I look for any structure or bottom irregularity and i work it over relentlessly. I once watched 2 boats cast at a tree sticking out of 25 foot of water. They just casted at it and reeled in. I went behind them with a 6 inch shadalicious in blue glimmer shad (this bait is a killer in clear water). I casted at that tree and worked my bait at all depths. Started at the bottom and worked my way up. Ended up catching a 7 lber while working the swimbait at about 13 feet. That taught me to work a piece of structure relentlessly. If i spot a little shelf that sits in deep water, ill throw the kitchen sink at it. I have found it fun to look for structure, shelves, and bottom irregularities. I can cast jigs and rage craws all day long at the bank an catch dinks. But theres no better feeling than finding a little spot and throwing at it for 20 minutes and then you catch a 5 lber. I was fishing a members tourney at the pits im a member at and everyone was bank beating. I headed out to a little shelf flat that sits in 35 feet of water, but the shelf tops out at 22 feet. Its only about 20 sq ft. In 12 casts i had a 3 fish limit that weighed 12 lbs 4 ounces. To the other guys it looked like i was fishing in the middle of nowhere. Its all about finding a spot you think holds fish, and working it until there is no doubts. Then work it again the next outing, and the next, and the next. Sorry for ranting, cabin fever has gotten the best of me.
  15. My name is Ryne and i am also a jig making addict.
  16. I own a S & W Sigma 9mm that makes the PT 140 feel like a hair trigger. I also have an AK 47 which has a long trigger pull. I actually prefer a long or heavy trigger pull. It makes no question on when you pull the trigger. A hair trigger is too unpredictable to me. The reason i purchased the PT 140 was because it has a long pull. Everyone has there own opinion on whats best and what not. I just prefer to have a predictable trigger.
  17. Taurus PT 140 Pro with a Crossbreed holster.
  18. I prefer a Zoom Fat Albert grub over a rage grub as far as a swimjig trailer. But with a naked jig head i like the rage tail. The only negative is the lack of color choices compared to Zooms.
  19. I am heading to the Outer Banks for a week in October with the in laws. They rented a house on the beach and everyones excited to surf fish. I am a bass guy, so i started researching bass spots within a few hours drive. It seems like Lake Phelps is where i need to go. I was just wondering if i can get some info from some people who have fished it or heard anything about it. I pry wont be pulling the boat, but we are bringing our kayaks. So i will have minimal mobility. Any info is appreciated.
  20. I use the craw on all my jigs except my smallie jigs under 1/4 ounce. Then i use a baby rage craw.
  21. I have good days on a clown colored XR6. There are times when it blanks, but when theyre on the jerkbait bite, this bait is what i throw. I smallie fish a small shallow river, so small baits are key.
  22. Mine upgraded as well. Just wish they would carry Rage Craws. I just like to have them close for when i need to get a pack in a hurry. The night before an outing and im low on rage craws i have to drive an hour to a Bass Pro just to get a few packs of rage craws. My wife doesnt understand that i would spend $40 in gas just to go spend $40 on Rage Craws. She doesnt understand the feeling of being on the water and your down to your last Rage Craw.
  23. I have tried super glue gel and epoxy. But i have found that Fly Head Cement is easiest. Just find a sewing needle, stick the head of the pin in the cement, then stick the pin in the weedguard hole and spread the cement. It will be solid in a few minutes. Make sure you wipe the pin head off with a paper towel or else the cement will dry and build up.
  24. those are sweet
  25. I agree 100%. I started tying little crappie hair jigs. Then i got a little bass jig making kit and bought a few painted heads and threw together some pre made skirts. Then i bought some skirt material from fishingskirts.com and a few painted heads and then the addiction started. Now I have skirt material everywhere and unpainted heads that i got from Cadman and powder paint everywhere. I have more jigs than i will ever fish.
