  1. i have been looking into a used glass bass boat for awhile now. My local marina had a 2000 Ranger R81 with a EFI 150 in really good condition. They were asking $10,000. I thought that was a little high so we started negotiating. After about 30 min of talking. He offered me $11,000 out the door. I asked for 2 Humminbird 597 CI HD DI units, new leather on the seats, taxes, and my first 2 years they will winterize my boat free of cost. And he agreed. This boat was in very good condition. In a lot better shape than some of there 2010 and up used boats. So, did i get a good deal? Or did i take it up the shorts?
  2. that looks amazing. I was looking at the before pictures and didnt think it would turn out as good as it did. You definately did an amazing job. Now go out and get some bass slime on that carpet.
  3. When i bank fished i would run into all kinds of rude people. I also hate when someones in my boat and i tie on a bait and the person asks me why im using it. But theyre not asking me because they want to know, they just want to question me.
  4. im nowhere near boston. But just throw a crawler or chicken liver out on a C rig and let it sit on the bottom of your local waters. Good luck
  5. iv used Vanish as a leader for 3 bites, all 3 bites ended with a lost bait. In the garbage it went.
  6. every spider wire line i have ever used has been junk. Back when i was younger and all the fishing shows were promoting spider wire i thought it was the greatest thing ever. Then i started getting serious about fishing and quickly realized that every spider wire line i tried was garbage. I have used the EZ braid and of all the spider wire lines, it was my favorite (which isnt saying much). Power Pro is far superior to any spider wire line. Stick with PP
  7. iv used hot sauce, but once i switched all my reels over to Abus, i started using Reel Butter and i love it.
  8. i actually thought about this right before i left. So i maybe had 10 casts with this setup. Next time out im going to give it a shot. I try other thing in the vegetation, but right now all the little fry are in the weeds and bass are just smashing them. A fluke is the only thing that will get bit. Thanks everyone for there advice.
  9. how much for that crappie redeye? that is phenominal
  10. pro would be IKE, non pro would be my grandpa who passed away and always took me fishing. Then id have to say Eva Mendes
  11. i am beginning to think i may be burying the hook point too deep in the back of the bait. I fish some pretty nasty vegetation with it, so having it 100% weedless is necessary.
  12. im using a boyd duckett spinning rod, 7 foot at medium fast action i believe. Using sufix fluoro and 4/0 ewg gammy and trokar. I have tried a few of my other baitcasting setups as well, no luck. I thought about braid, but i fish strip mines where visibilty is 30 + feet, and my braid setups just never seem to get bit. Mayne its a confidence thing. I was throwing the caffeine shad a 6-6 skeet reese jerkbait/topwater rod with a revo s and 12 lb copolymer.
  13. my former high school started a fishing team and didnt have much of a budget. I gathered up a bunch of old tackle i dont use and gave them 2 baitcasting combos and a few other guys i know donated some stuff. I wish they had it when i went to school, i could have gotten a college scholarship and an opportunity to fish and learn about a tournament format.
  14. illinois. we are the only state that does not allow some sort of concealed carry, so it was no shock they would be so anal about me not having a kayak registration.
  15. I have just gotten into flukes this year. I was having good success with the caffeine shad but it just wasnt tough enough and my hookup ratio was bad. I switched to a Zoom Fluke and my hook up ratio is still terrible. Id say i catch 1 fish for every 10 strikes. I know some of these are small fish, but i have had some decent bass on and they just get off. My hooks are all new, i have tried gammys and trokars and its the same old same sold. Do you guys let the fish take it for a few seconds? I just feel the hit and set.
  16. me an my wife bought kayaks last year. We were out on a small public lake near my house. We threw all of our stuff away because i had no idea i needed to have them registered. A conservation officer met us at the ramp and jumped my arse because i had no registration. I told him i had no idea i needed a registration and he became ignorant and telling me to quit playing stupid and trying to insult his intelligence. He gave us each a ticket for no registration, luckily my wifes father is a man who knows "people" and we had the tickets evoked. Its only $13 i think for the registration, but i have no sales receipt or the other stuff i need. I have no problem paying, but the state just wants you to prove you paid taxes on it. Personally, i think its a joke.
  17. i have used the white ones on the back of a swim jig, but i prefer a rage craw.
  18. my best friend has a Top Prop that he uses up north that flat out catches fish. He calls it "the prop." I have a Brovarney Baits swim jig in crappie color. I use a white fat albert grub trailer and it has caught me 438 bass in the 5 years iv had it. I make my own jigs and fish them all the time, but when the going gets tough, i tie it on.It is missing a few skirt strands and the paint on the head has chipped in several places. It is still going strong, over the years i have come up with these names for her. - the answer (i was a big allen iverson fan) - old faithful - THE ONE - skunk buster - whitey - IT (id always say, im putting IT on)

    Swimbaits

im a shadalicious fan, but i also the grass pig, and mattlures gill
  20. My best friend and fishing buddy asks me all the time why I love swimbaits. Hes more of a beaver and plastic flipping guy and im a jig and swimbait guy. I never give a definitive answer, i always say "i dont know." I dont throw them all day or anything, but i throw them a lot. I have come to the conclusion after thinking about it a lot, i love it because you never know when that big bass is gonna strike. Even if i cast for 4 hours without a bite, the thing that keeps me going is thinking that my next cast will be a trophy. So, why do you love swimbaits? Also, a swimbait bite is contageous, you get that first bump and a split second later you feel the THUMP.
  21. BPS has a big version sticko, iv had better luck on them than the Yums and more baits come in a pack.
  22. try it, thats all i have to say since i dont fish Senkos.
  23. you guys are nuts. The only way im sticking my hand in a hole in the water is if i come out with a bag of money or a new Ranger. Thats hard core.
  24. i use sufix Promix copoly on all of my Revos except 2. I use it for jigs, plastics, swimbaits, topwaters, and everything in between. Its hands down my favorite line. And its cheap.
  25. I have 8 lb Sufix 100% fluoro on my spinning outfit and LOVE it. Havent tried it on my baitcasters.
