  1. duckett, carrot stick wild black, st croix rage. All very very light rods.
  2. reaction innovations double wide beaver with a 5/16oz shake2 shakey head
  3. im not happy with my tube, all it did was catch fish. You can buy this tube back and send me 10 more. Thanks
  4. theres a stretch of illinois river within 5 min of my house and have been dealing with these carp for many many years. I have snagged well over 150 fish. Using big weighted trebles and by snagging them by accident with redeyes and other treble hooked baits. Only once have i ever had one bite my bait and i land it. I was using a 1/4 oz orange jig head with a white mister twister grub. They are an amazing fight no matter which way you snag them. When you hook into one, there initial run is amazing. Drag stripping like you wouldnt believe. When we are bored during the heat of the summer well take out my Tracker (dont want to get the ranger full of stink and blood) and snag several fish. Theyre fun, but they have all but descimated the white bass population.
  5. i wouldnt do that to my worst enemy lol. I kind of miss him though, he would get so defensive.
  6. so hes gone? can we throw a bass resource party? I have noticed since the fire starter hasnt been around, its been a much more friendly forum.
  7. i have noticed they have been laying low. But thats because i havent seen Gambler running around lately. I have been a die hard Abu guy, but i purchased a Daiwa Lexa 100, and am now trying to figure out how i can afford ridding myself of all my Revo S's and gettin all Lexas. I stll love my Gen 2 Premier though, that will forever be my favorite reel. I just sold my Curado, so i am now shimano baitcaster free. I still have a Sahara spinning reel, but thats pretty much the wifes, so that doesnt count.
  8. I think the Daiwa Lexa 100 is a great bang for your buck baitcaster for $139. The sale is over, but i have several buddies who use the BPS Pro Qualifier and absolutely love them. I have played with theres and it is a really nice reel for the price. I think they got them for $70 during the sale.
  9. original for me. I had to order my buddy some on my last TW order. On a trip to Wisconsin last year, i put on a fish catching clinic while he was hanging out with the skunk. We were both using the same line, jig, and trailer. Only difference was i was using Megastrike. The other reason i like it is its not messy and doesnt have a completely awful smell. I have tried the fish sticks, sprays etc. They all would either melt, or leak and smell up everything. I keep my Megastrike tube in its original plastic packaging and have never had it melt or leak anywhere. Ease of use goes a long way with me.
  10. i would say jigs and spinnerbaits. Just because i like to make them, so i have quite the stock pile. As far as store bought baits, i would have to say jig trailers. I have 2 big storage bins full of trailers. I have every color Paca craw they make, every color Rage craw they make. On top of that i have rage grubs, Menaces, chigger craws, zoom swimmin flukes, and regular flukes for bladed jigs. I would say i have over 20 bags of black/blue paca craws and 10 bags of saphire blue trailers. I think the reason i collect them is because all my trailers can also be used as a bait by themselves. If i had to narrow it down to one single bait, it would be the Rage Craw. Every single time i go to BPS or make a TW order, i get at least 1 pack of rage craws.
  11. kvd triple grips for me. I would try other brands, but the Wal Mart close to me carries Triple Grips, so thats what i use. Havent had any negatives. I use sizes 2-6 on various sized baits.
  12. theres a spot on the illinois river that always produces a few smallies for me. A smaller river flows into it and it has rocks and clear water and the smallies stack up there. The only spot on the whole river i have found bass. Well on the weekends you get every bucket fisherman in the county that fishes that little area. Im talking 50+ people, all fishing for catfish, drum and carp. You cant get anywhere near it. Not to mention they leave there garbage all over the shore line. So the only way to fish it is if you are lucky enough noone is there during the week.
  13. get something withiin your budget that you wont outgrow. Nothing is worse than having a boat, but not having room for all of your gear. Not just your gear, but you have to factor in safety equipment and other boating necessities.
  14. i also cut off about 1 inch off the head as well. Other really good swim jig trailers are the Rage Tail Menace and the havoc devil spear. The devil spear could be the most underrated bait on the market today. Its very versatile, cheap to buy, and has great action.
  15. the one thing you will find out is how well it lubricates your baits. I think that phase of it is my favorite, it will help all of your baits go through vegetation much better.
  16. I like my MGX, but i would take my Gen 2 Premier over it anyday. The MGX is a good reel, i jjustt dont think it is worth the price tag.Of all my reels, the MGX ranks 3rd. My favorite is the Gen 2 Premier, then the Daiwa Lexa 100, and then the MGX. I still cant get over how nice that Lexa is for the price.
  17. exactly what he said.
  18. i have nothing better to do lol
  19. i remember my first tube lol. I put it on every single bait i own, no bait leaves the boat without it. I reapply when i feel its needed. It really does last a long time on a bait. One tube will last you a few seasons, unless you fish 365 days a year.
  20. I also use the Rago hitch colored swimbait with some success here in Illinois.
  21. no, i have had such horrible experiences with every spider wire product i have ever tried. I wouldnt use it if someone gave it to me for free. But thats me, im sure there are people who use nothing but spider wire.
  22. I really wouldnt have cared, but most of my combos are fairly light. My heavy action Rage rod with a Daiwa Lexa is probably half the weight as the bionic spinning combo. And about the Siege, iv fished the Sufix Elite and love it, i dont think theres much difference with the siege. I grabbed some to try out.

    P90X2

i started P90X two years ago. I was 198 lbs, i got down to 167 by the end of the 90 days. I was in great shape and looked good. Then i met my wife, got married, and put most of the weight back on. I started back up today and i thought i was going to die. I remember the first 2 weeks were the hardest. My modo is "theres nothing to it but to do it"
  24. Alright guys, whenever i make a run in my boat, i have a horrible time focusing for the first 20 minutes or so. I think its the noise, wind, adrenaline and such from the ride. Then it becomes near silent and i have to focus. I have a hard time doing that. I dont know if this makes much sense to anyone. But anyone who has ran at decent speed and then stopped to fish should understand what im talking about. What do you guys do to get youre adrenaline down and focused on fishing?
