  1. That was a beautiful boat. Did you not like it? or the opportunity for a new one came about and you couldn't pass up the chance?

    Swim Jigs?

rage tail menace, rage craw, single tail grub, and a swimbait are the trailers I use. My favorite is the Menace. I work mine through scattered vegetation. Just working it slowly like a spinnerbait, and then when I get hung up on a piece of vegetation I rip it out and let if fall a little before continuing my retrieve. Sometimes they want it burned as fast as you can reel.
  3. i have caught a lot of fish on that spinnerbait.
  4. I will never again not have a set of jumper cables in my boat. On 2 separate occasions I got to the ramp, only to find out my cranking battery was dead and couldn't start my motor. Now I keep a pair in the boat and my truck.
  5. how fast you were going when you hit that log?
  6. I like fishing out of my boat, but if im in the back of someones boat it doesn't bother me. It kind of feels good to just relax and not have to worry about the TM and controlling the boat. I just hate not having all my stuff since I store everything in my boat.
  7. i pry top out 35-40 yds. If I have a 3/4 Redye on my cranking rod. I don't do much deep cranking, so long distance casts are not crucial to me.
  8. I just hate when they leave there garbage everywhere. Or when they clean there fish as they catch them, and just throw the remains on the shore.
  9. Thanks a ton. I was kind of figuring that was an option, but wasn't sure.
  10. I had an issue with my trailer brake lights. I fixed that issue, but upon fixing it, I had to disconnect the old wiring from the trailer brakes. I had to buy a new adapter that connects from the trailer to truck. My question is, what wire connects to the brakes. I have ground, right blinker, left blinker, backup lights (this wire I believe should be the brake wire as well) and brake light wire. So my question is, what wire hooks up to the trailer brake? Its a 2000 Ranger trail. I hooked everything up the way I thought was right. Hooking the backup wire to the brakes. When I had my wife pump the truck brakes, the trailer brakes didn't do anything. This is my first trailer with brakes, so I don't know how to make everything work. The only thing I did not do was connect the ground wire from the trailer brakes. I had both ground wires connected together. Any info would help. I have a big trip in 2 weeks and want to get this issue taken care of. Im a bad electrician
  11. The only freshwater Live Target baits I use are the mouse and frog. Both are very very good topwater baits. When I was on vacation I used a Live Target swimming mullet and landed several blue fish. It casted like a rocket, and after several blues and a few unknown fish that got off, it looked as it did when I took it out of the package. It ran true, even in the surf that I was fishing, I ended up buy 4 more Live Target hard baits in the mullet pattern. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a freshwater crank from them. I just don't do much crankbait fishing, or I would have a few.
  12. rage craw Yum Crawbug Paca Craw
  13. i have fished a small river/creek similar to what your talking about since I was about 8. In this order -single tail grub, experiment with colors. My best are green pumpkin, black, chartreuse. - Yum Crawbug, as a jig trailer, T rigged, c rigged or a keel weighted hook - Rebel Pop R -Chartreuse spinnerbait -Clown colored X Rap, XR6 size - Baby Rage craw in any color - jig with Yum Crawbug trailer. - wacky rigged Senko -a BPS leech on a drop shot -Zoom Trick worm fished on a shaky head -Bomber Model A in Bengal Firetiger color - MEGASTRIKE on everything
  14. I use Seaguar Red Label and have no complaints. I tried Vanish and ended up throwing it away. I am going to get a spool of Tatsu next week, hopefully it will live up to the hype.
  15. I love all the different reels. I kind of figured Shimano would dominate, but its cool to see the different brands and models. I was shocked at how many SXs I saw, good reel. Even saw a Pro-Lite finesse, which is one of the most underrated reel IMO.A lot of Cores an Chronarchs. Its reel porn lol
  16. if your water isn't extremely clear, just go all braid. If you have to use a leader, just use a 2 foot or so leader, and just don't reel all the way up to the knot. For me, I usually use a 2 foot leader, my knot never gets into my eyes of the rod. I never reel my lure all the way up to my rod tip, I always have at least a 2 foot distance between my lure and rod tip before I make a cast. I know a lot of guys who only use a 1 foot leader or less. My main body of water is extremely clear water (20+ ft visibility) and a leader is a must on braid. But on lakes where water isn't as clear, I have no problem going straight braid.

  18. with your water temp, im thinking a Redeye shad or a jerkbait. Those would be the first 2 baits leaving my boat.
  19. I just want to know what everyone thinks is the best baitcaster they have ever used. I don't want reasons why. I just want answers, just to see all the different reels. Mine Is the Gen 2 Revo Premier
  20. nothings worse than back pain. I was playing a high school game and did the same thing you did. After trying to fight through the pain, I eventually went to the doctor. I had a ruptured disc and it was brutal. I could barely put my hands over my head. Sleeping was nearly impossible. The good news is, when they did all the MRIs and such, they found out I have scoliosis. I still have back pain here and there, and have come to the conclusion that it will be like this forever.
  21. our stretch of river has become a ghost town for game fish. It used to be called the "sauger capitol of the world." Every year the MWC opens there tourney here. 3 years ago, 660+ fish were weighed in. This year, 220 something. Only 10 of 132 teams brought in a limit in 2 days. And these guys are some of the best walleye/sauger fishermen in the Midwest. To me, the worst thing is when they die and wash up onto the boat ramp area. It will be 90+ degrees and there will be hundreds of dead carp everywhere. You almost have to hold your breath. I have never seen any animal reproduce and explode like this. I used to be able to cast net for shad, now I cast net the feeder creeks and will get nets full of baby carp. They are really good catfish bait. Game fish are eating the young, but there is soooooo many, that it does no damage.
  22. thanks everyone, looks like ill have videos to watch over the weekend.
  23. I have never used this, but my buddy did and it worked great. Goo Gone will work too.
  24. are there any in depth videos to help me understand my electronics better? I only see them for Side Imaging and it really doesn't go in depth. I have a 597 CI HD DI. WayneP, I liked how you posted pics and explained it. It would be nice to see a video like that. Any suggestions?
