  1. .22s and 9mm are starting to make a comeback in my area. Its not marked up too bad. I got a brick of .22s for $30. I was paying about $24 before. I have even been seeing a lot more .223s and 5.56s.
  2. I'm sure his $30 reel is still better than a Curado
  3. I have used Star Tron and Mercury Quickcare. I haven't had any problems with either product. One of my good friends dad is a tech and he told me both are good products, but he told me I needed to use Mercury Quickleen in my motor. I have noticed it seems to run a tad smoother since using the Quickleen.
  4. Rig a blue craw rage craw on the back of that jig. That's a good start
  5. I was carrying a Taurus PT140 in a Crossbreed holster. Then I started having feeding issues. I traded the Taurus and holster in on a Gen 4 Glock 20. I love the gun, just a tad heavy for carrying compared to my .40. The glock holds 15+1, I just put 8 in it to keep it at a comfortable weight. In Illinois we cant carry, so I don't carry it often. But when I head to Chicago, I definitely have it on me. Like I said, its illegal, but im not going to the murder capital of the U.S.A without protection. On a side note, I live in a small town 2 hours south of Chicago. Two men robbed our Verizon store at gunpoint last week. They put a gun to the workers head and another 17 yr old customer. You just never know when you are in a life or death situation. During the pursuit, we lost a K-9 dog in an automobile accident en route to the scene.
  6. im glad you brought it up. I have always been a fan of shark week. I feel the past years have been OK at best. It seemed (not including this year) the past 3 years have all be "air jaws." About the great whites coming out of the water to hit a seal. That's all fine and dandy the first year, but after seeing it over and over, you just get tired of it, I like to see hammer heads, tigers, blue sharks, reef sharks etc. I was so excited to watch it this year, then the Megalodon travesty came on. I chalked it up as a sci fi movie mistake. Then Voodoo Shark came on, that got me really upset. I did like the shark attack one though, like when I saw that guy get nailed by 2 Great whites. Iv seen the video before, but never heard from the guy. I also liked the Alien sharks one. Overall though, I would give it a 3 out of 10. I found myself watching the shark specials on NatGeo. That was informative and wasn't hyped up to be something it wasn't. I feel that shark week got too big for its pants. That after dark live show was also terrible. I feel like they fed into the reality tv monster, its just sad that this is what America has become. The powers that be feel no one wants to learn or be educated, just fed a bunch of crap. Same reason why that Kardashian show is still on TV, people don't care about reality.
  7. you are a lucky man. I remember the day I picked up my used 2000 Ranger last year. I couldn't imagine the excitement of a brand new boat. The problem is, I would be so anal I couldn't enjoy it. One little scratch would make me flip out. That's the one thing good about a used, if I see a scratch, I simply tell myself that it was someone else fault.
  8. not really, but when you're at a range and an 80 yr old woman is next to you. You pay attention and apprectiate the fact they're still sending rounds down range.
  9. Bersa Thunder .380 would be a good choice. I have seen a few older woman shoot this gun with no problems.
  10. i usually stick with Abu reels. But I own a Daiwa and 2 Shimanos. I just prefer Abus. As far as rods, I have several different brands. Kistler, Phenix, Skeets, Abus, Ducketts, BPS, and St. Croix. I like them all for different reasons.
  11. that is a horrible bait. Take every pack of Rage Craws you own, and send them to me. I will dispose of them for you. Especially the Falcon Craw, Blue Craw, and Green Pumpkin Craw with the claws dipped in chart. dye.
  12. I like to throw the 1oz Hack Attack jig with a rage craw trailer.
  13. im already dreaming of this on the back of a black/blue swimjig. Oh man im excited.
  14. when you feel the first tap, don't set the hook, just keep cranking. I had the same problem, then I would just keep reeling and wait for them to load the rod.
  15. I have Zekos and loved them' but then I made the mistake of washing them. They smell absolutely horrible now. I still where them, but I cant wear them in the truck on the way to the lake. I have to wait until im outside to put them on. But a perfect fishing shoe.

    Ufos

I was reading another thread and the topic of UFOs and strange lights was brought up. Just wondering if anyone has any good stories. The only time I ever witnessed something strange was about 11 years ago. I went outside around 1 am to have a cigarette on the porch. I was just checking out the stars and then I saw a strange light fly into my view. Then it would jump long distances in no time at all. It was moving with extreme speed and agility that if there was a human inside, they would have been crushed by the G force.
  17. I took my dad out on the local river to show him my Ranger. We trolled down a feeder river and turned the corner and saw a canoe on the shore where a young couple were going at it.
  18. We have a local catch and release pond that they use for kids fishing expos and rodeos. When I was growing up, you could catch a bluegill on a plane gold Aberdeen hook. It was a great place to take little kids to teach them how to fish and keep them interested. About 3 years ago, you were lucky to catch 2 fish in a day. My buddy went out there to night fish after work and saw the banks full of bucket fishermen, all with there buckets full of bass, catfish and bluegills. He called the local authorities and most were ticketed and some arrested because they had warrants or weren't a legal resident of the US. Once the arrests happened the lake started to come back slowly to its old form. Its a small pond, 5 acres. So it couldn't handle that kind of pressure like a big reservoir could.
  19. Kistler Carbon Steel. Starting price is $89. Or a Phenix Recon for $159. Both are great rods
  20. I have the small Live Target Frog and it catches fish of all sizes. The downside to the small frog is its much harder to throw with heavy baitcasting equipment.
  21. A tarpon is on my fishing bucket list. Ever since I was a little kid watching fishing shows and seeing those bad boys jump, iv been dreaming of the day I get a chance to have one on the end of my line.
  22. That's good to hear. Ill stick to my Abus.
  23. #2- Revo SX with 50 lb Power Pro and a Kistler Carbon Steel Kistler Carbon Steel,6-9 MH (fishes lighter than a MH)-$89. Hands down the best bang for your buck rod on the market Revo SX-$159 Power Pro-$14.99 This setup will do anything you ask of it. I have thrown weightless Senkos to 1oz Jigs with it. Its just a solid all around setup. Even if you want to go cheaper on the reel, the rod is a bargain. I have a $100 Mojo Bass, $100 Veritas. This Kistler puts them to shame.
  24. I get mine from Cadman. Good guy to work with. I have also bought baits and skirts from Siebert and have had no problem. Try the Sweet Craw skirt from Siebert, its a fish catching machine.
