  1. I have also enjoyed some of your posts. Good luck, and even though we have never met, I have read a lot of your posts and also enjoyed your input on topics. Good luck my BassResource friend. Two words of advice, never pea into the wind and never play hopscotch with a unicorn.
  2. Bad spool was my other option.
  3. when I saw the pic, the first thing that came into my head was the song "lady in red." Beautiful boat. My wife happen to see the screen and she even said "wow, that's pretty." I show her tons of boats I like and she never really comments. Good find
  4. hmmm, I use an improved clinch as well and I have never had an issue with the knot. They say not to use it with braid, but I haven't had a single problem tying that knot on braid. Before tying a bait on, rub your fingers on the line to make sure there isn't any frays or anything.
  5. I have fished loon waters when I head up to northern Wisconsin. I have never had one bite my bait, but when I see one dive in my vicinity I get nervous.
  6. I run Die Hards and have not had a problem. My neighbor owns several battery stores in Illinois and he swears by Everlasts and Die Hards. I was thinking of switching all my batterys over to Optimas and he talked me out of it. Then my friends dads Optima just quit holding a charge. My brother in law also had an Optima just quit on him.
  7. I feel your pain. That's a horrible feeling when you see your lure go flying into oblivion.
  8. I have fallen victim to the toothy critters a few times. The worst incident was when I landed a 38 incher on a lizard. It shook out of my grasp, cut my hand and in the scuffle, my buddy fell and got a Rapala stuck into his behind. I don't mind catching them, but they are just really slimy.
  9. The anticipation to see this boat has me excited. I cant imagine how anxious you are. lol
  10. i can only speak on the SX. Pros- casts like a rocket, really smooth, light, can get in high speed gear ratio, looks good, iv thrown everything on it from weightless senkos to 5 inch swimbaits. I love it, I use it more than any other reels I own. Negatives- extremely touchy. For instance, I can make 100 flawless casts and then itll backlash on me. My S's, Premier, and MGX do not do this. The upside is when this happens, the backlashes are very minimal. I could not throw fluorocarbon with this reel. So I had to switch to braid.
  11. Hopefully that musky got fish slime all over that Packer coat.
  12. ohhhhhh I hate that. When you fill up a plano box an you are 2 slots short of filling it. I just have to go get 2 more baits to fill the slots.
  13. nice bass, looks like a Koppers Live Target. Its my "go to" frog.
  14. will you post pictures? A video would be even better. I love new boat pics
  15. to me, there is no wrong way to fish a swim jig. If you can think of it, I have pry done it. I love to take a small 1/4 oz with a single tail grub and reel it as fast as I can over vegetation. I have also crawled them at a very slow speed along the rocks on the bottom. That's why it is my favorite bait
  16. You must catch different muskies than me. I have caught a 32 incher on a small ice jig and bobber, a 46 incher on small bomber crankbait with stock hooks and a few other northern and muskie over 25 inches and never once has one cut my hook with its teeth. They are more prone to cut my fingers and my line than my hook lol
  17. I have caught a lot of fish on these spinnerbaits. The skirt and collar are crap, but the hook is sharp and strong. When I fish shallow rivers and creeks, I throw one because I don't care if the head gets the paint worn off from hitting rocks. I learned to tie skirts by tying my skirts on this spinnerbait. You can get them at the actual store, so don't bother with ordering online.
  18. my Gen 3 Revo SX is without a doubt my farthest caster. But I would take my MGX and Gen 2 Premier over it in a heartbeat. But I feel the SX outcasts them due to line, rod, and its mainly used for 5 inch swimbaits and other heavy baits to where im going for distance.
  19. I had this same problem. Before a big fishing trip down south, I decided to purchase a G Force. I was extremely happy with it the first 2 days. On the 3rd day, the washer that holds the cable into the TM, broke. I figured I was SOL, since I didn't have an extra washer. I ran to the ramp. Took the boat out of the water, took the TM apart and just tied a knot in the cable. Its worked great ever since. It just sucks I had to waste over an hour of my trip. But my first stop after heading back out, I caught the biggest bass of the trip, a 6.5 lber on a swimbait.
  20. put a Yum Crawbug on the back of that jig, it will add bulk. But there aren't many craw imitations that do it better than the Yum Crawbug.
  21. I was watching the college tourney. Now after all is said and done and the one college angler gets to fish the Classic, what happens if he gets in the money? I would assume he wouldn't be able to accept it. Anyone have any info on this?
  22. are you giving the fish enough time to take the tube? I suggest 3 things, let them take it more, rub the tube with Megastrike, and try a Trokar tube hook.
  23. the Yum Craw Bug. There is some days on the small stream by me that I feel bad for even throwing it. Its a smallie magnet in small rivers, creeks, and anywhere craws are a main forage. You ever try small tubes? It emulates a sculpin to perfection.
  24. I have 2 Veritas and like them, but for under $100 I would go with the Kistler Carbon Steel. When I switch between the Veritas and the Kistler, the Veritas just cant compare. Not saying the Veritas wouldn't be a good choice, I just prefer the Kistler at that price point.
  25. Rage Craw, Yum Crawbug, Brush Hogs, Biffle Bugs. One of these baits its always rigged on a naked jig head on my deck at all times.
