    My 2013 Pb

weighed 5.5 for those who want to know. I thought for sure itd be around the 6.25 mark, but nope. Oh well, fun fish.
  2. Yeah, ill be ice fishing tmrw. The cold doesn't really bother me, I just don't like not being able to fish from a boat.
  3. when I had my tracker I did this on the second outing. Was fishing a small private strip pit. I had a #2 emergency, ran to the shore and forgot to pull up the TM. ripped the screws out of the frame, but that was after the TM shaft bent to all hell. I gave the boat to my dad, but the TM still works. Its just a "tad" bent.
  4. wear it, who cares what people think. I do not fish tournaments, but I wear several jerseys while fishing. The only reasons I do it is because I like the material, and do not care if I get water splash or fish slime on it. 90% of my fishing is private water, so im not really around anyone. Who cares what people think.
  5. Don't mind the dates. I never put the proper date into my camera. The sad thing is I lost several more of this size. That's fishing
  6. Well, this is my biggest bass of 2013. Came on Lake Kincaid (southern Illinois) in march on a 1/2oz Dirty Jigs California swim jig in Tactical Shad with a pearl white Roboworm Ocean tail swimbait trailer. Ended up catch 2 more over 5 on that 3 day trip. One more on this setup and the other on a Mattlures gill. My buddy in the back landed 4.5 on a shadalicious swimbait. Good trip.
  7. Id have a Merc hanging off the back though.
  8. Bass Pro line of plastics make a floating lizard. I have a pack, and they do float.
  9. i have never had it fog up on me. I am a tradesman and spend a lot of my winters outside in harsh conditions. I always leave my Save Phace in my truck, many times I have worn it to keep my face from getting numb and my eyes from watering. It is well worth the money. Last year we were on a fishing trip in southern Illinois in march. The 3 guys I was with made fun of me because I have a "ghostrider mask." That first morning we are running across the lake in 35 degree temps, my buddies face is tucked into his coat. I was doing just fine with my mask on. By the end of the trip they were all impressed with my "stupid mask." The one impressive thing is the lens doesn't scratch at all. I had a seagull hit it, countless times of mistreatment and with a decent cleaner, it looks like new. You will NOT regret your purchase.
  10. Of all the things iv purchased for fishing, my Save Phace mask might be one of my smarter purchases. Not only does it help keep your face warm, but also keeps rain and bugs from hitting your face while on the move. Early October I was running my Ranger on the river to run her before I winterized. I was going 64 mph and saw some seagulls in the water. They usually get out of the way, well this one seagull was too slow to react. It hit my front Humminbird unit, then hit my windshield and then hit my face. No idea what would have happened if I didn't have my mask on, but im glad I didn't find out. I literally scared the you know what out of it and it was everywhere. Especially my windshield and mask. Its especially worth it on cold mornings when your making long runs. I got mine on sale at BPS for $50. I got the mask, 2 lenses, and the carrying bag. Its already paid for itself many times over.
  11. 1/2 oz black/blue jig with a rage lobster trailer in black with blue fleck. If the waters reel dirty, I will use a blue sapphire Paca craw. Secondary color would be the Sweet Craw pattern from Siebert with a green pumpkin rage tail. I will dip the claws in chartreuse or orange. If none of that works. It will be a T rigged black Trick Worm with a 1/16 oz weight.
  12. hey, my 2000 Ranger has a toilet. Its called a 5 gallon bucket and a garbage bag.
  13. it was a go to creature bait for me. My buddy and his dad went on a trip up north and all they throw is creatures. I gave them a couple baits and they wore the bass out on them. I guess I will save what I have and use them wisely.
  14. Why is it no longer available on the web site? I have a few left but was thinking of restocking over the winter.
  15. Beautiful triton. If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for that bad boy?
  16. I had this same idea 2 years ago. I bought all my heads pre poured from Cadman, then I bought all my paint, skirt material, wire, vise, etc. I made about 150 jigs. I maybe sold 20 or so to friends and a few people I met at ramps. Then i started building my own spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. I enjoy doing it and that's why I keep doing. It definitely helps pass the winter if im not ice fishing. I was never in it to profit, but I love knowing that on the water I have as many jigs as i want at my disposal. I am a huge swim jig and football head jig fisherman. It is nothing for me to lose up to 5 jigs if im flipping trees. its nice knowing if i lose one i have backups. If i lose all my backups, its nothing for me to go home and tie the same pattern. Good luck and have fun
  17. If you feel your bait casting skills are really really good. You can get by with the SX, but it is a very finicky reel. If it is not tuned right, it will backlash. It just isn't as forgiving as say my Premier or even my S's. Once I have it tuned where I need it, the reel is a joy to fish. Lightweight, smooth, looks great, feels great, and it fits my hand perfectly.
  18. I have an 18 footer with a 150 (Ranger). I have only noticed it porpoise when I let off the throttle to slow speed to let a barge pass and what not. I have never had it porpoise coming out of the hole or when im running wide open. I have no jack plate either. It doesn't happen often, so I don't really pay attention when it does happen. All I do on my hole shot is trim the motor all the way down, hammer the throttle all the way and gradually trim up to the sweet spot on my gauge. Have never had a problem doing it that way.
  19. I have a 2000 Ranger with a 67lb thrust MG. I bought the boat last year, so the MG was already on it. Im assuming it was installed new at the factory. The other day I noticed my speed control knob was loose. Then one day I got out on the river to run it a little bit before I put it in the garage for winter. When I got back to the ramp I noticed the knob was gone. Wasn't in the boat. It either got lost on the way to the river, or when I got in tough water it flew out of the boat. My problem is I cannot find another knob. I would hate to buy a whole new motor. I have found a few sites, but they need a serial number. I took the foot pedal off the deck and only found 1 set of numbers and none of them work when I put them in the serial number box. If anyone has any help for me, it would be appreciated. Its a 67lb Tour Edition 767V. Im assuming its a year 2000 model.
  20. When I purchased my boat, the one thing I regret was not spending the extra $$$$ and get a SI on the bow. I have two DI units. One on the console and one on the bow. I definitely suggest going with the SI. I run Humminbirds, but have been on boats with Lowrances and wouldn't hesitate to use them. I went with birds because I got them for well under retail.
  21. Simple Green will work just fine. I would spray it on, let it sit for a few minutes. Then scrubs it with a soft bristle brush.
  22. Pheonix, Ranger, Gambler, Bullet, Skeeter, Allison
  23. I currently have a MG on my Ranger. The MG is a 2000. I have only had the boat a year but the MG was working just fine. Then the other day I got to the lake and my speed control knob was gone. Not in the boat, nowhere to be found. Couldn't understand how it just vanished. I have a MG on my 2002 Tracker and I had to do a few things to keep it working. I really want to go MK with my next motor, im just unsure about the foot pedal. I have used MGs since i was 7 (im 30 now) and not sure i would be able to get used to the different pedal.
  24. I can only speak on Ranger. I have a 2000 that I bought last year. The boat has been everything I wanted and more. No compartments leak, the fiberglass is in great shape, all lights, pumps, etc. work like new. The one single thing I dislike about it is, theirs no factory cup holder in the boat. That's a small complaint. It fishes great, and is very stable at speed and while fishing. If someone handed me 60 grand for a boat I wouldn't hesitate to get a Ranger. If a Ranger wasn't an option, I would get a Pheonix
  25. This is what I thinking when it gets to that time where I told my wife I would be home.
