  1. Cool, I think we will let this run until Wed. and we will be set! We need to pick a launch point though HAHA. There's 4 that I know of that have good fishing and are usually light on traffic. Here is info on all the launch areas: http://raystown.nab.usace.army.mil/Activities/boating.htm I'd say Snyder's Run, Aitch, James Creek or Shy Beaver would be ok for us to use. They all offer some good fishing spots and usually don't get nailed by the boaters. Guess we will have to have 1 more poll after this one EDIT: Don't forget to buy your launch passes (they are $3.00) http://raystown.nab.usace.army.mil/passes.htm EDIT Again: You can get these at the launches too so forget that last part.
  2. AH, I forgot about Archery... Looks like either one of the days in Sept. is going to win, or Sunday the 3rd. I'd rather go on a Sunday too, but I just want to fish and don't care what day it is! HA Edit: Took the Saturdays in Oct. out (I was the only one who voted for them anyway haha).
  3. I love watching Bill Dance, Rolan Martin and City Limits Fishing. I have them all set to record on the DVR because I always miss them otherwise. On Outdoor Channel I like Classic Patterns, Strike King Pro Journal and sometimes Legends of Rod and Reel. BUT, WFN is usually on 24/7 BIG BASS MONDAY! Then Lunkerville on Wed. Can't beat it!
  4. Did you update your software? A maintance update came out and your phone may not have it. Go to settings>>about phone>>software update
  5. Let me know if you need any help. I can do logos, graphics and site coding (simple code, no stores or anything haha) Check http://www.pabass.com/ and look at the club pages.
  6. If they arent salted (or you dont care about the salt) you can boil them for 15 to 20 seconds. I do this to straighten bent stick baits or swimbaits.
  7. It sucks, but it probably happens a lot more than we realize. That's TV! It's probably hard to get them out on a lake they have "never" been too. What are they going to do, give them a list of lakes and say, pick some you've never been too. If they put me in that situation, you bet I'd be researching some of those lakes I saw on the list... I like how Facts of Fishing will show how real it is fishing. I remember watching a walleye episode where Dave only caught 1 tiny walleye (almost a fingerling haha). I really don't care if people aren't catching fish, if theres enough technique info in the show, I'll watch
  8. Just handle it like you would any other industry. Keep plugging the resumes until someone bites. If you can, I would get your resume looked at by a professional. I was lucky enough to find a free seminar about resumes and it turned mine into gold. I would also suggest using networking tools like facebook or even better - LinkedIn. LinkedIn is more business oriented and a lot more professional. I have had a few job offers on there just from having a profile (didn't take any though).
  9. 3 words: Drop shot (maybe that's 1) and Finesse (Technically thats 4, but don't count the 'and'). I was never very confident in the drop shot, but I have to say, it's a deadly technique in this heat. If they do happen to be holding really tight to the bottom, throw them a small worm (I like a purple or blue 4 inch curly tail worm). I throw both of these on an ultralight (YES, I said ultralight) and 6 lb. test. The bites are few and far between but the fight is GREAT on such light tackle. Surprisingly, it produces decent sized fish too.
  10. Ok, here are some dates. If anyone absolutely cannot make any of these, we can remove them. I don't know of any other way to do this and keep it organized
  11. Ok, I think Raystown wins. I'm going to kill this poll. What months are good for everyone? I'm full the end of Sept. but any week in Oct. I'm cool with. August and Nov. are open too, but I think Oct. is primetime for Raystown (stripers should be on fire then! and the LMB won't be too far behind).
  12. I didn't use the pano feature on my phone yet, but I am very impressed with this camera. It takes great video too! It gets a little grainy in low light, but if you resize the pic/vid, you don't notice it. I highly suggest switching to the Swype keyboard. It took me a few days to get fast, but it's awesome once you learn how to use it. (go to settings>> Input and Language and change from Multi-Touch to Swype). A must have for everyone with a droid is the Snes emulator I play Super Black Bass, Jimmy Houston's Bass Tourna. USA, and Bass Masters Classic Pro Edition all day long Oh, and the Droid 2 should be out the middle of August. Once you start using an all touch keyboard, you won't need the physical. Just turn on haptic feedback (it will vibrate when you press a key, so it kind of feels similar to a keyboard...).
  13. Welcome! Always good to see another pa member!
  14. james creek is one of the many areas that offers the best fishing. All you need to do at raystown is find a cove with a point, some cover and a feeder creek or creek channel and your golden.
  15. that's a good point to add about the cost difference. If you fish painted weights the coating is going to last longer, giving you more use for your money...as long as you don't keep losing weights.
  16. 10. Ribbon tail worm 9. Spinnerbait 8. Rapala xrap 7. Jerkbait 6. Black and blue jig 5. Sexy shad colored cranks 4. Match hatch stick 3. Dual tail grub 2. Rage craw 1. El Grande Tube (bluegill, baby bass, green/chart. Or watermelon copper)
  17. I'm staying I'm the no wake zone. haha I'll probably just use the electric motor the whole time. I find its more productive there to stay in one area vs. run and gun. But thats just me ha
  18. You can watch all the episodes on lunkerville.com But i agree because i hate dish and wfn is the only reason i keep my dish network. Ill switch to direct as soon as they get wfn.
  19. Smallies usually look like tigers (haha) smallies will also sometimes have red eyes (SOMETIMES, not always). Another way to tell is smallies mouths look like they bend down a little toward their belly while a largemouths will look like it's straight. These are just a few more ways to tell, but everyone else posted the obvious ones
  20. I rarely use scent, but when I do I like to put some scent on a piece of paper towel and put it in my box. It gives each of the plastics just enough scent without using a TON of it. Does it help? I have no idea, but it can't hurt
  21. The TT Flippin' Weights have a larger profile than their standard bullet weights. Regular Flippin' Sorry, I was speaking in terms of lead vs. tungsten. RoadWarrior - You'll be amazed at the sensitivity difference. I thought people were blowing smoke when they said tungsten was more sensitive, but it really is. If you're worried about cost, don't get a tungsten jig because you'll only want to use them after you try one
  22. I usually don't listen to music so I can hear any activity going on around me, but if I do, I have 1 ear bud in. That way I can at least still hear from 1 side
  23. Looks like you took a bluegill out of the water and put him into some clear coat Nice paint job... I want one!
