Tabu Tiny Tim's for small spinnerbaits and RageTail Grubs for everything else. As I learned from a local guide around here, adding a trailer to your spinnerbaits gives the fish a better way to tell what's the 'head' and what's the 'tail' of the bait. Since he started using trailers (just a long curly grub) he hasn't had any short strikes.

If the body gets ripped up, don't throw them out. I use the top 1/3 as a jig trailer after the bottoms get ripped up.

I actually won a Veritas around Christmas and just started using it this year (funny story, it took them like 4 months to ship it due to a shipping error... so they sent me a Revo SX for free too... Because I was so upset I didn't get my FREE rod! That's awesome customer service right there!), Anyway, I was always a 'cheap' set up user, never liked to pay more than $70 for combos. So far, I really like the rod and reel, very light (lighter than my Quantums, and it's a foot longer), the rod can take a beating... or bending I should say. I put it in the bottom of my kayak and it has to be bent pretty hard to get in there. I cringe every time, but it holds up fine.

Love my croc's (even have mickey mouse head shaped holes... Does anybody know of any places I could launch a kayak on Swatara creek near Hershey? I'll go up to the State Park if I have too, but wondered if there was any launches closer to me?

Busy and lost my brother in Feb. (was in the hospital with him for that whole month, then March and April I spent catching up on everything). Doing a lot more trout fishing too (I know, I know, trout suck ) I enjoy the fly and wilderness fishing though haha I'll be interested to see how things go tonight. Taking Owen out again after work today, he can always find the bass.... I've trained him well

Me and my little brother caught smallies on crankbaits for 2 hours straight, then it died off as fast as it started. Was around 6 to 8pm. Fish were holding SUPER tight to cover and the shoreline (probably didn't help that the river is muddy and up a good 4 feet from what it should be).

Was going to say the same thing GrundleLove... I enjoy catching Pickerel, in fact, I usually target them if I know they are in a body of water (which isn't hard at all). Grips are the best way, but if you can't get them, I usually hold them behind the eyes (pinch about an inch behind their eyes) and they usually don't thrash that much. If they are bigger, usually over 18", I'll do the hold 'em under the mouth/gill slit thing.

Out of those three, Ride 115 all the way. Great boat, stable, fast and you can even stand in it once you're comfortable and find it's 'tipping' point. You won't be dissappointed with it at all.

Skip the anchor - I've heard horror stories of guys dropping anchor in the smallest of current, flipping, actually getting twisted up in their kayak or anchor line and drowning. All goes back to what J said, learn to paddle, you'd be surprised at how much current you'll be able to sit in without moving. Even a little patch of weeds is usually enough to stop you. There's smallies in there, so technically it's bass waters too haha Never fished it, but I hear about it all the time. Sounds like a decent piece of water.

Too broad a question to answer specifically, but generally, small and slow works best for me in the winter (everything from simply cold water to fishing ice jams in the river). Some of my favorite baits are RageTail baby craws or even Chunks 'nose' hooked on a split shot rig or even put them on an 1/8oz ballhead jig. Tabu Whiptail worms are awesome also, small package and a ton of action, even when just laying around.
