  1. just came across this thread, think ill join in more often! although my breakfast and lunch are normally bland because i only have college caf food for options. Breakfast- bacon egg and cheese, french toast, cantelope, coffee. Lunch- egg roll, salad, pizza Dinner- Spaghetti and meatballs with a cold one to wash it down!
  2. ChrisAW hit it on the head. These worms have been submerged in the water a while and expanded. they are just your average size worm.
  3. 10 inch power worm reeled on top of high weeds like a buzzbait!
  4. after fishing a few abu's i never cared for them. after fishing a few shimano's, i never cared for them (besides my cardiff 400). ive moved on to lew's to test their product, and so far so good.
  5. hahaahaha this is too much. probably a simple miscommunication. 14 incher is reasonable, our jersey waters have a 12 inch minimum on most lakes and a 15 inch minimum on "trophy lakes"
  6. dont give up yet fellas! bass are still biting, just gotta catch em feeding. paying attention to moon phases this time of year seems to have a bigger affect on my success more so than it does in the summer. i have been catching fish on drop shots and jerkbaits within the last week heading out today hoping to wrangle in a few.
  7. i pray for you. lol!!!! have a happy and blessed thanksgiving anyways!
  8. throw em all! eh, maybe not the lizards, but a grub on a jig head would be a good bait to throw cold water smallie fishig right now
  9. sure does. ill say the same thing o this thread as i did on the other, check out tackle industries musky rods. meant for big baits, and a heck of a rod for the price.
  10. all i can really say is thats amazing. my ratio of 5 pounders is probably about 1 in 600.
  11. i find a lot of the time the guy who cuts you off or moves in on you and jacks your spot or scopes what your using doesnt have the skill to catch fish anyways. I have had times when im trout fishing ill have guys literally walk in the middle of the stream in front of where i am fishing, and then get ticked when i catch a fish and it jumps right behind them when i am fighting it. ive had guys walk 30 feet up stream of me and step i the current and contiune to drift his presetation dead in the middle of the stream, straight down i front of me. same guys has the tenacity to tell me that if i "snag" his line, he will reel it in, cut off my lure and throw it in the woods. i promptly responded to him saying "you know it is against the law to interfere with people legally fishing and hunting"................. not another word. i much rather take a plate number or registratio number, call it in, and let the CO take care of those clowns.
  12. not sure what it could be, but another tip to keep some tension on the line as it goes onto the spool while fishing is stick out your pointer finger so that the line hits it lightly before it goes back onto the spool. i'm not sure how you hold your rod, but for me it was just a slight adjustment that provided the benefit of less line twist and the line laying better on the reel for better casting
  13. take a look at tackle industries musky rods. my buddy uses one (for musky) and its a nice rod for a good price. they make rod lengths from 7'6" up to 9 foot i think and each length has one rated for 1-6 ounce lures
  14. well the flipping bite didnt pan out, but a trolling bite did....lol. hands got cold and resulted to trolling small rapalas slowly and ended up with 3-4 bass and a mess of pickeral.
  15. 28 inch pickeral?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? thats almost state record status im sure.
  16. yes, there is still much good fishing to be had. caught a limit of pound and a halfers (bass, that is) drop shotting last weekend, a few slime darts mixed in. trying to get out in a few hours after i get my anatomy lab done. flippin bite might be good today with the high blue skies and little wind.
  17. shakey heads are a clutch bait for me and seem to be a huge confidence bait for a lot of guys. i normally dont leave for a trip without that exact worm tied on to one of my rigs with a 1/8 oz shakey head. i have also been diggin roboworms lately, but they are tough to find around my parts. another sleeper shakey head bait i have used is a super fluke.....
  18. ah you beat me to it! you friggen hit the nail on the head even down to the color of my favorite.
  19. storm wildeye swimbaits....
  20. HUBBA HUBBA
  21. take the knob all the way off and look inside the knob part. there will be a square or round washer made of carbon or something. try to get it out carefully, take it out and wipe it down clean. now put it in the opposite way you took it out. if that doesnt work, the washer will probably need to be replaced from being overburdened by pressure from the knob being tight for so long.
  22. really cool! i think it would dull down a firetiger color nicely
  23. yes, moving you rod and thumb control over your line are keys to making accurate casts.
  24. finally got my power back on about 5 hours ago! that was a long 11 days but thankfully my home and family are all safe....just a little smelly! burned about half a cord of wood trying to warm up the house....but am still workin on cuttin up about 4 cords from downed trees in my yard. YEESH is all i can say. they closed my college for a week so i got in some much needed time on the water!
  25. instead of buying a 120 on reels and 120 on rods, i would suggest one quality rod and reel. you will definitely be able to get a really decent set up for those prices.
