  1. Very funny! You guys got a great team. Twas the month after Christmas and New Orleans will be facing Favre. All my!
  2. Go TITANS! I hear a lot of people put down Vince Young because he dosen't put up big numbers like the Peyton Mannings and Tom Bradys. What is the objective of Football? To win! Vince Young is a winner, he did it through his college careen and now he is doing it in the NFL. Titans were 0-6 before Vince was the starting quarterback, now they are 5-6 with an possible shot at the playoffs. Dan Marino is a perfect example (had all the stats any NFL quarterback could ask for but no Super Bowl rings and very few playoff appearances. When the defense is not on the field very much during a game, usually means a victory. I'm very happy for Vince and all the Titans fans. 8-)
  3. I'm going to go get some garlic powder for the next batch. That is exactly what I'm missing.
  4. To me live bait fishing is cheating, to others it is considered fishing. Technique and strategy is involved with artificial. My home lake of Dale Hollow I wish people would take a step forward and make live bait fishing illegal (lot of fisherman would agree with me too). The big problem some business owners think it would cause an dramatic effect on tourism. I've got news to them, it won't. The lake is nortorious for big Smallmouth and fisherman will stop using live bait and start using artificial. Downside, guides will have to start learning how to catch fish using artificial, insteat of relying on ol' realiable shiners which bring in the fish. 8-)
  5. Thank you very much for the information. My first batch is marinating right now up to 48 hours. Tell me what you think about these ingredients? ( wondering if it will taste ok). 1. Liquid smoke 2. Worchershire sauce 3. Soy sauce 4. Brown suger 5. Accent 6. Canadian steak seasoning In about 4 days will be the big test.
  6. Yesterday, I killed my first Tennessee buck with a 270. Jerky is one of things I've been craving for a long time. Does anyone on here have any secret recipes that you want to share. This will be my first time experimenting with it and could use some great recipes.
  7. I think GPS chips are interchanageble. If one is taken out of a boat, it can be used in another.
  8. Guys, speaking of World Record Smallmouth. I was over on DaleHollowfishing.com, and they have been talking about how the lake is the best some have seen it in 3 decades. They believe it is time to catch the World Record now. Also next year they will be holding 6 tournaments, and a point system to crown the King of the lake. If you want to check it out go to DaleHollofishing.com and it is under their forum.
  9. Thanks, I got word today there hitting the Hoss Fly in 20-35 ft. on rocky banks. Water cooled down fast this fall, it shouldn't be long before they start hitting the Fly, can't wait.
  10. Guys, I stand corrected, it was the introduction of Alwives into Dale Hollow in the late 70's not Gobies. It is the Alwives that are making the Waleye sterile too. There have been instances though were people have thrown Gobies into the lakes, but we do not have the population like the Great Lakes. Alwives stay in deep water most of their life. Sorry for the mistake!
  11. Dale Hollow is full of Gobies, TWRA stocked them back in the late 70's because of a harsh winter that had major shad kill. They were more worried about what the fish were going to eat. Not knowing the full effect it would have on the future of the lake. Center Hill has the same problem with the Gobies because walleye are not reproducing. I will find as much info about it as possible and post it. My friend that has been fishing Center Hill for 50 years told me about their problem recently.
  12. I know this is off subject. My wife, stepson and step daughter play Facebook farm town all the time. I can't get my stepson off my computer because of it. Never played it, but it seems to be fun.
  13. Can you post that article? I would really like to read that.
  14. Excellent for the Great Lakes, does that include Lake Michigan. I believe waters are much deeper than Erie.
  15. To get sponsors: In todays world you have to be able to sell your self first. Be able to communicate and stay composed around crowds at all times. You need to be able to fish, or your about worthless to your sponsors. Need to be able to sale their products and have the knowledge to be able to talk with sense while doing it.
  16. There might not be a solution to the Gobies. Recently, they've talked about stocking some stripers in the southern lakes to fight off the Goby population. If they do that, then there is a risk of hurting the rest of the fish. Goby population increases at an exponential rate, so it does not look good. Only time will tell, if the fish will adapt to their new environment.
  17. This must be close to the Sweet Beaver. Personal things mean the most to me. When I find something that works I like to feel like I've accomplished something. Finding new ways to catch fish and devolping my skills. Most try the Yum Craw!
  18. Hoss fly, I'm with you on 6ga wire. Need some cooperation though on where to find it. But I'm with you no worries. Let me find a store? ;D The store is going to get hugh with me on your side.
  19. Very true! Gobies are a deep water fish. Not like the shad, who spend most their life above the Thermocline. Gobies get way down below the Thermocline, and spend most of their life in deep water, except to spawn. In deep clear water lakes it has caused a negative effect because it has pushed a lot of the bigger fish in deeper water. Away from our jigs and many other baits we were custom to using and catching bigger fish because the shad use to be the no.1 source of food. That is why our TROLLERS are catching bigger Smallmouth then are bass boaters because they can get down in the 70ft plus with down riggers. Lake Erie is not that deep, so you guys might not have to worry about it. :'(
  20. The Gobies have had a negative effect on the lakes down south (especially on the Walleye population). Most lakes have to stock the lakes with Walleye because they are sterile due to the Gobie population. :'(
  21. Four years, I've been wondering where I can catch one over 10, but need to have a spot to pick up one. But still haven't found one yet LOL
  22. Spots are very fun to catch, and can get to be descent size. It seems Smallmouth are as aggressive or more aggresive. Many times I've heard spots are too aggresive in the lake and should be killed when caught. Does anyone have any articles that can be read that states that?
  23. Dan, I have not read any articles about the Eastern part of Lake Erie. What information have read about it?
  24. You know I totally forgot about the Tennessee River. Your right there have been some toads caught there in the past few years. Right now is prime time to be fishing on the drops of the river catching those Big Smallies.
  25. Guys, I'm wondering where you think the next World record Smallmouth bass will be? There have been some big Smallmouth caught in the past few years, and if I had three lakes to pick from it would be Pickwick, Dale Hollow and Lake Erie. I would really like to hear your thoughts on this. ;D
