  1. After some serious thought I would have to stay with a CustomGheenoe LT-25. Just happens to be the only boat capable of getting into the swamp I fish. If I fished open water I would have to look at Bass Cat.
  2. Excellent bass fishing east on hwy 41 from Marco Island.
  3. Thats a hanging curve .....but I ain't swinging ;D
  4. Monday I was seeing bass on beds in the deep south area.
  5. BucketBuster As a owner operator I do not expect a tip. If I get one ...thats just gravy. Most anglers tip 10-20%. Like one of the previous posters stated above, if the guy is working for a booking service or outfitter, definately peal off some cabbage for him...... if you were happy with his service.
  6. Yamamoto 5" senko rigged wacky style. Green, Junbug Rapala Husky Jerk Model # HJ10 in Tennessee Shad Plastic worms in watemellon pumpkin seed Zoom Super Flukes in green, junbug This will catch any bass in south Florida. Good luck and tightlines!
  7. Dont use seige it coils really bad I was looking to make a change this season from Berkley High Vis. Mainly due to lime memory coiling. BPS salesman suggested Suffix Seige in 10#. I took a shot and was very dissipointed. My line was parting on hookups and basic cast. I went with P-line CX. No problems with P-line CX 10#.
  8. Down here in the glades we just walk the edges of the flag ponds and gator holes. I use a flashlight and barehand them. Gotta be quick and have eyes in back of your head. Back in La. where i was raised we used regular crawdad nets and bacon or turkey necks tied in the middle.
  9. I would suggest hitting the everglades for a day. Mid march is smoking hot fishing. Hit the right bodies of water and you could boat hundreds of bass in a day with some size to boot. Tight lines!
  10. Bought my first new motor...had to look under cowling. Started pulling the plug wires off and forgot to put one back on. Launched boat on busy sat. morning. Motor ran like it had marbles in it. Had to put back on trailer. Felt like a jerk when I discovered what I had done.
  11. You nailed it. They are listed as Florida Black Bass.
  12. Miami Fl. is a place you can come and bang all 3 in one week. The best web site is called swordfishcentral. There are plenty of articles and charter captains on there with daily updates. The marlin will be the toughest to get, but the swords and sails are easy and plentiful. Good luck. Best time is Oct-March.
  13. There is the "Best" and then there is the rest. The Best is the Garry Yamamoto 5" Senko in any color. I use a O-ring so I can get more fish per stick. The reason it is the best is the density of the worm. Which is also its downfall cause it is more brittle than any of the others. The zoom trick worm has produced more fish for me and clients only because I use them more often (allot less expensive). I use a wide gap #2 hook. Just about any hook works for me. The "Wacky O-ring Tool" sold at Bass Pro is very helpfull when rigging the Yamamoto senko.
  14. Here are a few critters that were blocking up the canal. This is a shot back in the summer, but gives a good representation of the amount of gators within casting distance of boat
  15. The early part of this week was cold with temps in the 40' s and gusting N.W. winds howling most of the time. Jack and Linda Dempsey from Wisconsin were down for looking to do something fun. She wanted to see and film some alligators and Jack wanted to catch bass. Fortunately for them I had both. The winds were lying down by wednesday night so we decided that thursday was going to be doable. The Bass Monster took us to the heart of the glades where I was sure we could accomplish both of our goals.....seeing some alligators and catching a few bass. We probably saw 500-600 alligators and Jack boated nearly 100 bass in the 8 hour trip. Both were estatic and said that this was the best thing they had done while on this vacation. 16. I like a Rapala HJ12 Jerk Bait. in Tenn. Shad. 4'-6' suspending diver. I don't leave home without 1/2 dozen.
  17. The new Zoom Vibra Tila is smoking hot. If you dig the Zoom trick you love the Vibra Tail!
  18. Brackish water untill just east of hwy 29 and hwy 41 where snook and tarpon can be caught. Skip over the Big Cypress(unless you want pan fish) untill you get to the miccosukee reservation. All water on the reservation and east to the 20 mile bend (L-68)are loaded. Best bet on foot is the canal that is on the south side of the L-68. Only accessible/fishable on foot. Coming from miami..there is a pumping station on the right. Just past it there are tarpon as well as bass. Good luck!
  19. Put in at the big bend. Miami side. Lots of large bass taken there.
  20. Those fellas were doing the ecosystem and fellow fishermen a favor by helping clean up the dead out of the inlet. At the time of that photo the F.W.C. had given the o.k. to pick up the dead fish and dispose of them in an environmentaly friendly manner. There was no malice or law breaking done. What really sucks is all the guys who were issued citations for picking up live fish before the F.W.C. asked for help.
  21. Since I never caught a 14'er....i'll take the mega monster one time.
  22. I agree! Very entertaining and always produces a bigun.
  23. Steve Red hot throughout september.... Access in certain areas can become an issue as the water levels fall.
