  1. I feel that the invasion of all non native fish is counter productive to acheiving and maintaining and healthy bass fishery. If the FWC is serious in making Florida the "Bass Capital of the World" again if they will have to address and take steps to eliminate the non native species....Kill em all!
  2. My fishing hole is flooded and flowing hard....not even worth the effort to go out there. I picked up a couple of 4#'ers in some local neighborhood ponds on sunday.
  3. Shock treat the waterways on a mammoth scale and throw all the foreigners in farm pastures.
  4. Got the call from Dan and Jason from JD'sCustomBaits that the snakehead bite was hot. I was a back seater on Garrys cool lil skiff for most of the morning fishing somewhere in western broward county...I was lost most of the day. Jason and Dan had 3-4 fish in the cooler before I got my first fish. It hit like a snook and fought like a mudfish. Tipped the scales over 5#'s. Later in the day I picked up another one that was 4.5#'s with a couple of 4# bass to sweeten the deal. Jason and Dan boated 6-8 and a couple of good ones as well. As fun as these fish were to catch, this was a very alarming day for me. I strongly believe that our fresh water fishery is in trouble and something must be done to kill all non native species of fish. This fish is coming to your favorite body of water in the near future.
  5. You da man Dan! I know your daughter was excited. I could hear her in the background.
  6. Love the fight of a big jack.
  7. Incredible!!!!!!!
  8. I know most guides have something on the side but thats just crazy
  9. Nice fishing video!!!!
  10. Nice fat bass. Good looking bass country there.
  11. Bio-O-Bass pardner!
  12. I used to fish the scottsmoor area every afternoon, but have not fished it since 1991. I was in Titusville for the day and was fortunate to meet up with Garry Amos Jr. for a couple of hours on the flats. The afternoon was getting blown out with S.E. wind gust to 20 mph, makeing fishing pretty tough. We pulled the plug and headed back to the launch. Not too far from the landing we see reds pushing next to a small island. We stoped and made a few cast. I hooked into this one and Garry hooked into another one. This was my first red in over 10 years. Thanks Garry!
  13. I like the Hawg Trough. Might pick one up for my rig. Nice pictures.
  14. Nice fishing in the SW part of the state. Welcome aboard.
  15. Italian newlyweds, Domenico and Barbara were my guest in the glades today. Domenico is an avid bass fisherman back in Italy so he was really looking forward to this trip. He had never caught allot of bass and had never had any size so he was very pleased to catch so many fish and some really good ones to boot. Barbara had the hot stick for several hours before she retreated to the rear of the boat for some rest and relaxation. Funny thing is that she would not touch the fish no matter what. She caught some good ones but would not hold them for a picture. We were covered up by gators all day, but neither Domenico or Barbara ever flinched. Domenico told me that this everglades trip was exactly what he dreamed it would be.
  16. The are looked incredible. Great report!
  17. In the summer I like to find areas that have little to no pressure on them. I know thats hard to due for most of us in south Florida, but very doable. Some folks say scale down on the size of the bait, work slower.....I say scale down on the size of the boat and work tighter. Try getting into areas that the bass boat will not go. Use google earth to find the remote and hard to get places. I know thats not doable for most, but the lesser known and out of the way areas can be highly productive in the summer. Another strategy is to try some night trips.
  18. If your just tucking the barb back into the worm you may want to run the barb all the way through the worm and then skin hook the barb to the backside. Less rubber to go through.
  19. I couldn't agree more. The launch I use is on the line between two governing bodies. So neither does any trash pickup. I have been stareing at this growing pile of trash for over 10 years. Every client I have ever taken in from this launch has made a negative comment on it. I couldn't take it anymore so i made up my mind that I would clean it up. I spent 2 1/2 hours filling 5 fifty-five gallon drums from the pile and had it all ***** and span. The other day I get out there and some jackarses had already started throwing trash back in the same spot. I just don't understand how fisherman can just toss crap out on the ground. Most of the trash consisted of beer bottles, so maybe they are too drunk to care.
  20. Them big Cuda can make a reel sing ;D
  21. Thats a great mess of fish.
  22. B.Lee, Thank You for the compliment. I have been trying to take better pictures lately. I use a point and shoot Olympus 760 digital camera. Less than $200. I have had the camera for 3 years but have just read the manual. While reading I found that the camera had some cool features that will improve the photo. Mainly using the "saturation" feature, which apparantly saturates the pic with color.
  23. Saturday me and "Catching" from the BR forum hit up Loxahatchee Preserve. Dan caught a few good bass up to 5#'s on his JD'sCustomBaits monster worms. I didn't do as well. I'am hopeing that my patience will be rewarded by a XXL bass. Dan grew up on Lox fishing with his dad. He knew the place like the back of his hand. It was a good thing because as soon as we ventured past the flats we were swallowed up in a maze of bullrushes and lilly pads. I have to say that Loxahatchee Preserve is a beautiful area. The kind of place that looks like every cast should produce a big bass. On a side note, I have been trying to mix it up and fish as many areas of south florida as possible over the last few months. My next goal is to get up to Lake Okeechobee.
  24. When I was a child in Bossier City La., one of my friends dad went away for many years due to cheating in bass tournaments. It was devastating on his family. Apparently he and his partner had a swimming pool full of FL. bass. It is good that Mr. Hart was caught but I feel for Mike and his family.
