  3. That is exciteing!
  4. I have had a bass buster back in the day and it was cool. You might want to look at the Gheenoe. I've owned 4 of them..never a small one but they are very popular in Florida. Very light, super sturdy, and you can put a small kicker on it. Check this one out. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1296094545 Here are the Gheenoe dealers in N.C. 5. I've done a little research on BR but your input would be appreciated. I'am ditching my current rod mfg. since the rods do not seem to be able to take the daily abuse that me and the guys inflict on the equipment. In the last 6 months i have broken 3 rods. It just sucks being short on equipment while one is being replace. The rods need only to be durable and dependable. I currently throw an arsenal of Shimano Curado E7's and Saros 2500's. I'am hoping to match these reels with Crucial or Cumara rods. Since I usually only carry 4 rods on board, rods models need to be pretty versatile. Throwing mostly T-rigged worms, senkos, jerkbaits and spinners and topwater frogs and torpedos. I would like to get one heavy/long rod for flipping and snakehead hunting. Perhaps a 7-11" Crucial swimbait rod which i think will suit those needs?? If your happy with your Cumara or Crucial I would like to know what you like about them. If you have a particular model that sounds like it would suit my needs i would appreciate the input.
  6. SirSnookAlot, I dig the canals as well. I droped my boat in the canal that runs along Military Trail last month for the first time. That canal is loaded with nice bass. They were chunky and hungry. Never know what a lil body of water is holding.
  7. Nice fish Dale!
  8. what were the results?
  9. He got hung alright Beautiful fish!
  10. Picked up a bedded Big Cypress bass yesterday that look as if it had swallowed a NFL football. Still slow in the Cypress but looking much better. On a side note the water is level to just over the rim. Should be a foot over rim this time of the year. This is gonna be an awesome year for bass!
  11. Awesome looking fish. I'll bet fishing in the snow covered woods would be cool.
  12. I use a hand controll 55# thrust..its a PIA especially when its windy or fishing against the current.
  13. Big ol head!
  14. Plenty big for a standard bass rig...there were a few out there. Everyone was hooking up. The boat ramp is nice too. The only thing that bothers me about the ramp is that it is extremely isolated.
  15. I was thinking about hitting Flamingo this morning but decided to explore a canal off Tamiami Tr. instead. This canal just across the levee from where the Value Jet crashed. The canal was absolutely incredible. We ran in about 15 miles and worked south with soft plastics (Garry Yamamoto senkos and Culprits and 2 on a Tenn. Shad Rapala HJ8. We boated close to 2 dozen. Most were dinks but we did have a few good ones. What really blew me away was the ecosystm in the canal. This place was alive with shiners and big bass. The water was crystal clear and the bass were easy to see. Saw many 5+#'ers just cruseing along the ledges. Tried like heck to get one to bite but no takers. This is the pefect place for a south florida bass camp out.
  16. I'am doing my best to kill all non native species...one cast at a time ;D
  17. Matt nice vid..what type of lures are you using there?
  18. Like they said. Bass are 100% everywhere. I have seen Talapia everywhere I have fished but have never targeted them. I have yet to catch a PeaCock Bass in Broward or the everglades this year. The areas I have fished were eat up with them last year. The Oscars and Cyclids were hit harder in the Everglades and the SW Florida areas but there were so many to start with that you probably won't notice a difference unless your down on Tamiami Tr. or the Big Cypress. So my summary is that if your targeting Peacocks stay in Dade County. If your looking for big Cyclids and Oscars stay east of the glades. Bass, Talapia, snook and tarpon are everywhere. Good luck!
  19. I'll be fishing Holiday tomorrow...hope to put a nice fish in the boat. The nice thing about our cold front is that we'll be back in shorts and T's next week ;D Dale thats a good looking bass.
  20. Just over 4#'s. Beautiful fish and some nice looking territory.
  21. Go get em Roland! I hope he does well.
  22. My partner just broke his foor so now I have a open seat for some SnakeHead killing tomorrow, Tuesday. If you can throw a baitcaster and want to kill some big fish just holler before 10 pm. tonight. We'll be in my boat on the C-14 canal/Ft. Lauderdale. 239-214-1778
  23. The series start february 2011 on Versus, friday nights at 8:30. I'll let ya know when I know more.
  24. Earlier this week Charlie Moore rolled into Ft. Lauderdale to fillm for his new show, "No Offense" on Versus in the spring. We have caught bass, snapper, snook and trout in the past years so I figured this would be a great opportunity to shine some light on the ever increasing Snake Head invasion in S. Florida. We set up in a residental lake in Sunrise, just west of Ft. Lauderdale. This area is absolutely eat up with Snake Heads. We pounded the Snakes pretty good for the few hours we were on the water. We boated 8 and had shots at twice that many. There were also some nice bass boated. Good times with good people.
