  1. Sick photo Steve! Congratulations.
  2. That was indeed a fantastic hit and a good fish!
  3. Bruce nailed it! Stay in this boat trail and you'll be fine.
  4. I'll meet back up at anytime ...dan and I are going to fish all day though
  5. Just a meet and greet. Meat at the launch and meat back at predetermined time to compare notes/fish. There are no tourneys allowed at Lox. Of course we want to see the big fish. It's alot of fun to put faces with screen names. Hope you make it out.
  6. The area I'am thinking of is the Golden Gates area. If you've never fished in there you should give it a go.
  7. Congratulations on an awesome fish. Fantastic photo
  8. I recently dunked all my gear in the swamp for over an hour. Cleaned the best I could and was about to send them out to be tore down and serviced. Found this Shimano link on Face Book. Start to fishish on a baitcast. Part 1 Part 2
  9. Sounds like an incredible trip! See you at Lox.
  10. I'd be throwing a watermellon pumpkin seed Zoon Fluke either rigged with a weighted hook or weightless. This time of the year at first light(when its coolest) I'd be throwing a buzzbait, frog, chug bug, tiny torpedo or a smithwick. It would be hard to beat a wacky riged Garry Yamamoto. I'am not too far from you and these are some of my Go-To baits. Do you ever get back into the Scenic drive area? If not, you might want to google it. Monster and plantiful bass in there as well as landlocked snook.
  11. A fella I went to military school posted this up on FB. Maybe crude but I thought it was funny.
  12. Has anyone caught a snakehead at Lox? How about a Peacock? A friend was in the boat with me and he swore he had a good sized Peacock on. I did not see it but have no reason to doubt him.
  13. Good fish! I hope you can get out with us.
  14. I'am 20 miles deep in the Big Cypress national Park untill monday morning. I hope they don't lock me in.
  15. You took care of "Business". Great photo!
  16. Dan from JD's Custom Baits sent me a picture of a 30" bass caught today at Lox on one of his baits. Estimated at 10#'s.
  17. I sure hope its lox road and on wed, thurs or friday of next week. I'am in for sure!!!!!!! The place is definately on fire . I'll bring some JD's frogs and monster worms to give out......afterwards. Sorry ..i had to explore the new emotion icon list
  18. Did I see you last tuesday a mile or so from the ramp in the canal? After I passed I thought the boat looked familiar? I was at Lox 3 times last week with friends and for the three days we boated more than 30 fish over 4# some were in the 6-8 class. I'am definately up for Lox but the Big O....??? Wed, thurs, or friday works for me. Any other day and i'll catch yall next time.
  19. I would love to get some sore ribs like that. Great fish!
  20. If the conditions are right then a frog is a hard bait to beat for quality bass. Frogs are an essential part of my spring-fall bait presentations. Frogs are a major source of food for the bass in my region so it just makes since. I like it in the slop and in open water. Green, black or junebug works for me with a 7/0 works for me. I try to pause a second before setting the hook but still miss my fair share of hits.
  21. How about wed, thurs or friday of next week? South Lox sounds goog to me.
  22. This week the top water bass bite has been strong in the glades. My bait of choice this week has been a JD's Custom Baits Frog. Earlier this week we had multiple fish over 6 pounds and today was more of the same. My friend Dan Bieniek, co owner of JD's Custom Baits was with me today. He was field testing one of his new frog colors. I was using a june bug JD's frog. We got hit with a good rain at first light, but as the rain ceased Dan busted the first of many fish over 4#'s. It was just a few ounces shy of 8#'s. An hour later he nailed a 6#'er. I had a monster tight and taking drag. He jumped and cleared the water by 2 ft. before spitting the hook at me. Even though I did not get him to the boat it was one of the best strikes and jumps I have ever had by a bass. We caught alot more bass before noon and then bolted deep into the backcountry. We were super skinny, even the trolling motor was blowing up a mud trail. The bass were stacked in the trail and on hard feed. We picked up more than 15 bass from 2-4 #'s before heading back out into deeper water for the afternoon feed. Now I had alot of bass and some 4#'ers in the boat but so far a real good bass had eluded me. I was working a frog in a 10 ft. from me I see a good bass tracking my frog. Four feet from the boat I killed the frog and he swallowed and under and around the boat he went. 6# on the Boga. A few more fish and we pulled the plug. My buddy Lars and I fished this weekend. He had never caught a bass and was really ithcing to get a fish. We worked frogs in heavy cover all day. There were alot of nice fish caught. He boated 2 real good fish.
  23. Your bait is incredible looking! Nice fish
