  1. Sure can....The closet for you is Hillsborough canal. There are a couple off boat ramps on it. The best one is in a park. Use a rubber frog/strong hook/braided line (30-40#) They lay up next to the bank so keep your cast at the bank or parallel to the bank. Other Snakehead killing grounds include: C-14 canal Markham Park Sunrise Tamarac Coral Springs
  2. Love to see midweek fishing reports. I have never been out on the flats at Hoilday.
  3. Congratulations!!!! What a beautiful rig.
  4. I have no idea about your river...but shallow water is my specialty. I like to work the surface with the a Pop R, weight Bass Assasin, and Frogs.
  5. I own both of the Cumaras you mentioned. The 6-9" mhxf would work great for light cranks and spinnerbaits. The med action is just too soft for me for anything other than pan fishing.
  6. Its hard to say if they are messing with the bass fry. But I can only assume that they are eating them. I know the bass are eating the snakehead fry as well.
  7. It is a loseing battle. We keep finding them in every nook and out of the way ditch you can imagine. The FWC has a dedicated shock boat and it seem like the word is out to kill them all.....however everytime we go after them there are record breaking kills and the sizes are getting bigger. I have come to the conclusion that the snakehead is here to stay.
  8. JD'sCustomBaits put on another snakehead roundup this past weekend in Broward county. The top team, Steve and Andy killed an astounding 62 snakeheads. The second place team, Corey and Ed killed 31 snakeheads. My co-angler, Capt. Bud, got a 8 3/4# 34.75" snakehead for the Big Fish. Here is a video from our boat and the weigh in.
  9. What a beast! Steve did you design the Big O jig?
  10. Yes it's the same fish. When I caught it I could tell there was not enough light to get a good photo. I think the Carrot Stick I was using is a 6-7" hvy/fast with the micro eyes.
  11. Glad I did! The third or fourth cast I hooked up a nice 7# bass on a JD'sCustomBaits Frog. Other than this fish I never saw any other fish on the flats. Early bird gets the worm...but I think these fish were feeding all night on the big moon.
  12. did someone say the preserve was closed?
  13. thats right FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. fishing FRIDAY thursday need partner. Most likely flats at sawgrass, lox or way down south at aero jet. Holler at me 239-214-1778 shane
  15. Not sure..last time I was checked was over 4 years ago.
  16. Great report! I have been meaning to get back there. Another good place is the east canal side of the Falls Mall. That place is loaded and has the prettiest/clear blue water.
  17. That was nice of you to share. Anybody else want to give up some spots? I'am all ears
  18. It happens to me at least once a week.....after that I sleep like a baby.
  19. Good story....good fish!
  20. I just sent an 83" tube to shimano...Florida to Ca. for $20 via UPS ground.
  21. Great picture!
  22. Oh man! Ya making me want to take a road trip. That is incredible Steve. I just dig the way the eyes are bulgeing out of her head. That has to be the hottest bass fishery in the country..hands down.
  23. I like it when its hot like that!
  24. You are most definately an honorable angler! I was reading in an article that this was the stiffest fine and suspension handed out in the history of BASS. Yet as a teenager in Bossier City, La., I remember a school mates dad being sent away to federal prision for cheating in bass tournaments. He and his buddys were bringing Florida bass and keeping them in the swimming pool. Somehow they were entering them in the tournaments and winning all sorts of prizes. This was the late 70's to early 80's. Some of you older tournament anglers may remember these guys from the Bossier City-Shreveport area. Maybe they were fishing a different tournament trail?
  25. Not so good. Caught some but I was very dissapointed.
