  1. Glad we could help... There is no need for a full size truck to pull a bass boat, unless you are... I won't go there...
  2. Anything less than a 6L is a toy, haven't you heard?
  3. I would much rather have that butt ugly "Camry" that a Chevy... lol you must be pretty proud that Chevy finally came out with a decent truck with a little more power...
  4. We have people in our club that even use their mini vans and have no problems lol. People that you "know" that are burning up their tonka trucks must be morons and dont take care of their stuff. Some people feel the need to have the biggest and baddest, and put their nose up at others that dont...
  5. I dont agree that you need a big bad manly man truck to pull a boat, and also dont agree that calling these guys V6 trucks toy trucks either... There is absolutley not reason to for that, maybe not everyone can affored the latest and greatest Chevy truck that came out. I know a guy that has been pulling a 19 ft bass boat in his Tacoma for 6 years now and not a single problem. Now maybe you should have said it depends on where you live??? See, here in IL its very flat, no need for a big engine and big brakes... Grated I do have a full size truck, but at times I wish I had a midsize that could do the same thing and get better gas mileage around town.
  6. Buy an extra battery instead of a outboard... but like nice bass said you should have a problem, just make sure your battery is fully charged.
  7. Lake Shelbyville and Lake Egypt, and I think Taylorville Lake.
  8. I have got to go fishing with you at Clinton! I would love to learn that lake, everytime I go its very tough to fish....
  9. Im not a huge fan of Clinton, its a tough lake to fish...
  10. Check out Northstars hair jigs, I bet the smallies would love those!
  11. If I had to choose a jig to throw in any cover it would be Arkie style... But definitely buy some football head jigs incase you need to throw in some rocks.
  12. Thats awesome Chris! I cant wait for the sale, need to stock up again!
  13. I'll take those northstar jigs off your hands if you dont want them! I have had nothing but good luck after switching to northstar, quality of this jig is great for the price. Miss hooksets happen, try splitting the weedgaurd in a V.
  14. I did the same thing lol.
  15. Very true and thats not really what I was getting at. If before you find bait fish boiling, and couldnt get them to bite on a fluke, traps, topwater ect. it was tough luck. Now you throw the a-rig and have a MUCH better chance of getting the bass attenion because its still a "school" of fish and not a single bait like before... It takes all the guess work out of it...
  16. I like trying to figure out what they are biting on personally. I think its crap that someone can tie on an alabama rig and have a chance at winnning a tournament that has no skill whatsoever.
  17. I think it looks pretty good... If I come accross some money I might have to get one.
  18. Maybe try something like this Got the video from Bird Dog.
  19. If you guys havent tried Templeton Rye whiskey you should give it a shot. Its by far the best I have had and Im not a whiskey guy, You can find it online, but if you try to get it straight from the factory there is a waiting list.
  20. I have a 1436 john boat with deck, it can get a little tipsy but if you pay attention to what you are doing its fine. I would not however take it on a river...
  21. I love my Veritas rods.... For 99 bucks you cant go wrong.
  22. I have seen quite a few people pulling bass boats with vans.... I don't know what it will do in the long run to the vehicle, but I don't see a problem towing a boat with one...
  23. I got the rod in the mail today. I went out back to our pond and made a few cast, so far this seems like it will be a great crankbait rod! It has great action and sensitivity, and being a 7'6" long rod it really help to get the bait out there.
  24. If you are new to baitcasters dont use 10#, it will dig and you will have break offs... I would only go as low as 30# braid and thats pushing it. I personally use 50-65#, it seems to work best.
  25. I'll let you guys know when it shows up, and see how it performs.
