  1. Never mind I got it to work...
  2. Thanks Shane I will have to check this people out. The first website you gave me isn't working though....
  3. Hi everyone, I was wondering if I might be able to get some help. We are taking a family vacation to Miami, we are staying at Calusa Country Club,it looks like its near Kendell. I am looking looking to take my father and brother in-law fishing, and was wondering if there are any good guide services in the area for either bass, red fish, tarpon ect... I wont be able to bring any of my gear because we are flying so using a guide with all the gear is needed. Any help would be appreciated. Matt
  4. I have to agree with Jim H here, I have nothing but good things to say about the Carbonlite reels. I personally would choose it over a Citica any day of the week and twice on Sundays.
  5. Abu Garcia's Veritas winch series rods are great.
  6. Mattoon Lake was pretty hot this weekend, Saturday 11 boats got their limits, and on our tourney Sunday 4 people got their limit. Biggest bass for our tourney was 6.48.
  7. It will work fine for you. Most people like a longer rod, but I used a 6'6" for the longest time and did fine with it.
  8. I have been dipping Skoal for about 6 years now. I only dip when I am outside (fishing, hunting, golfing, drinking beer by a fire, ect..) I can go weeks without one but once I am on the water, course, field, I am feeling the need, I actually cant not dip while I am inside, it makes me feel sick.
  9. I bring 7 with me. Jig Spinnerbait Crankbait weightless T-rigged keel weight/shakyhead and my spinning rod.
  10. 15# is way to small for braided line. I would recommend like others have said going to 50#.
  11. I know this may be late but a senko alway works in ponds. Morning time run a buzzbait along the shoreline. The pond behind my house is so choked up with weeds, I can pretty much only throw a fog, buzzbait, and weightless senkos/flukes. T rigs work but the weight cant be to heavy because all you will bring back is muck. Hope this helps.
  12. Its hard for me to see you write this stuff... People that have followed your post in the past might agree, you have been getting better but I have seen some post that I kept my mouth shut until this one. I think the Veritas is a great rod for its price, and feel NO need to go out and buy a 200 dollar rod to say I have one. I think the veritas is more than suitable for any situation I would run into. I honestly feel the verities covers every technique very well, the only place it MIGHT be able to improve is a jig rod. Even then I feel they are amazing rods, and wouldn't hesitate to buy one for jigging. I think this is coming from a kid that has never used one and is a brand fanboy, or asked for a 200+ dollar rod for Christmas and realized he could have gotten two nice rods for the price of one. It has nothing to do with advertising, the POSITIVE feedback comes back USERS, not people that picked one up at a bass pro shop. Sorry for the rant...
  13. I had on a HUGE blue cat once, about 35-40llbs while trying to catch some bait fish with my 6'6" M Ugly stick lite. I have never seen a rod bend like that and not break lol. I honestly thought that rod was going to snap back in my face after it shattered but it held up great, Its the only rod I will use for cats.
  14. Well from what I have heard so far (I haven't fished it this year) the bass are in coves near structure and timber on the west end of the lake. If you cant seem to find them there the bridges always produce.
  15. I have always used baitcasters but I am starting to learn how to skip docks now with a spinning reel. Senkos are a great bait to start with along with flukes.
  16. I may have had a bad batch but it always broke on me, and lost way to many fish. I switched to Yo Zuri hybrid and haven't had a problem. I use 50-65# power pro on my jig and frog rods.
  17. Personally I would stay away from vanish, I have had nothing but troubles with that line... I use braid for my jig rod, its very sensitive and gets the job done.
  18. I personally use a 7' heavy with a fast tip. I wouldn't go any smaller than a MH when fishing a jig.
  19. That sucks man, I would hate to waste that trip! I'll be sure to let you guys know how it goes.
  20. How did Shelbyville go? We have a tournament there this Sunday.
  21. You might want to go ML for the Veritas, they are a little over powered for what the are... A M might feel like a MH, so maybe a ML will feel more like a M to you.
  22. Going to Homer Lake this weekend, I'm not really expecting much but it will be fun to get out on the water.
  23. Took me about a week in a half...
  24. I will be fishing there Sept in our club classic, and was told docks are off limits because of that rule on the lake. Oh well, I am sure there is other good structure on that lake.
  25. I have that same rod and love it! I also have a BPS 5.1 reel paired with it but its not a PQ, you will love the combo!
