I haven't forgotten about giving a report yet A-Jay, my package from tackle warehouse got lost in transit and its going to take another week to get here Why UPS wouldn't think, hey we lost this guys package lets overnight it or send it two day shipping is beyond me... Instead they will make sure it gets to my house in 7 days... I just hope they don't lose it again so I can use this at my next tournament.
I don't use an in car GPS anymore, I use my smartphone for everything now. Like the above poster, I have Waze and love it, also Telnav is a good one for a smart phone.
It was for the Champaign County Bass Masters. We fish Mattoon, Shelbyville, Clinton, and Springfield. Last year we threw Vermillion in the mix, and we are fishing Egypt for our classic. Let me know if you want anymore info on it, our meetings are the first Monday of the month at the VFW in Champaign.
Golf around here isn't a rich person sport, but it really depends on where you live. I find deals in our local newspaper to buy rounds half off (19 bucks instead of 38), and the most expensive course around is only 60 to play. I find it just as relaxing at fishing and its actually easier for me to do with a child because I am only gone for 3 hours instead of 8 hours on tournament days.
Longer the rod the better (longer casts) in MH to handle the deep cranks, a moderate tip for a little give when the bass strikes. Moderate tip is key in most cases when using treble hooks.

Check out that website, you can get the Abu Veritas winch 7'6" MH Mod. rod for 61 bucks with free shipping.
You're gonna get me killed lol, the a lew's is next on my list also lol. Already have 3 veritas rods and I don't think I can pass it up at this price. Now if I can find a good deal on at Lew's I'll be in business.
I called Capt. Dean at doubledcharters and he said he can get 4-6 six of us out for sail fish and some theres using live bait in October. Has anyone ever heard of this guy?
The babies definitely are not going anymore... And I wouldn't be surprised if it was just the younger people going (four total). My sister in-law is kinda dead set on deep see fishing because it would be a rush I guess, I think she thinks shes going to catch a marlin or something lol. I wouldn't mind deep see fishing, but I just don't want to be sitting around waiting for a bite and have the captain setting the hook for me. I am wrong about what deep sea fishing is, or is it different than that? I guess I don't want it to be the same as salmon fishing in a charter... You just sit in a seat all day and wait for the pole to bounce and have the captain set the hook for you...
The powers are higher (I feel) than what they say on the rods. I have a MH 7' and its more like a heavy, I have the MH winch more like a heavy, and a ML which is more like a M. I would just try to find one in the store to play with it before you make up your mind on the power of rod you need. I cant speak for the micros...
I would get the Veritas winch model like other have mentions for your treble hook lures, with at least a 6.4 gear ratio reel... You can use your current setup for jigs...
I just got off the phone with my wife and I guess everyone wants to go, which would be 8 adults and 3 babies. I really don't think we can find anything that can fit that many people without being on one of those HUGE boats with 30-40 people fishing at the same time.
