  1. I'm not sure what the final boat count was but for what it was, which was a lot, the start couldn't have been handled in any better way. Everybody got a boat number and you launched in groups of 5. Weigh-in was open between 2:30 and 3:30 and it was just done very well IMO. You see, I'm talking about the T and not our fishing day which was very forgettable. Caught some small keepers early but the wind came up bad between 10-11 and we fled to the rim and the d-holes which were very occupied. The Lake is falling fast and with the south and west wind Sunday, it almost seemed like the lake was 2-3 inches lower down south on Sunday.
  2. Going to be able to fish it-yeah! Powerhead in and broke in thanks to lapping around out at Holiday yesterday for about 4 hours in the goop. That is, unless something else goes wrong in my club tourney tomorrow out of BG. See you all out there and good luck to all participating
  3. A "dipper" is a Skinny Dipper made by Reaction Innovation. It can be rigged in various ways but it is usually fished anywhere from on surface to about 4-6" below. It is retrieved somewhat quickly and triggers reaction strikes. There are some similar baits such as a Flappin Shad by Gambler, a Bass Pro Shad-o and Zoom has a similar, the name of which escapes me at the moment. Bitter's Baits in Central Florida makes an excellent knock-off of a Skinny Dipper
  4. I saw it going into the 40's early next week.
  5. Sounds like a fine day. I'm on disabled list as the powerhead blew a week ago Saturday on the Rim Ditch. Val Osinski and partner had 24+ to win the G&G and 2nd had a bit over 20. Don't know what the boat count was. He said he was catching his on Big E-Zs.
  6. great job under the conditions and circumstances. Check your PM
  7. Congratulations...that was no easy win buddy! Sunday morning I walked outside (lake wales, FL) and was greeted by cold gusty winds that bent the scaffolds on our largest trees. I told Lois that we're going to concede to the pier on Lake Walk-In-Water (a private pier on the sheltered north shore). I spent a couple hours experimenting with different lures & deliveries. Happily, I was only interrupted once by a sub-legal bass that came unbuttoned 8-) Roger Thanks Roger. We went to bed on Sat night at Grape thinking it was going to be more moderate on Sunday. The wind howling through the live oak at 4AM shut that idea down. Sunday AM was full contact fishing LOL. Love that place though good results or not
  8. Had a tournament out of Lake Kissimmee over the weekend. The front came through up there on Thursday night and the water temp dropped from 75-76 Thursday AM to 60 on Sunday AM. We did pretty good on Saturday with about 19# but had a tough time yesterday with only 4#-but it was still enough to win. The fish really locked down on Sunday.
  9. Totally agree with this post and it was better said than I would have said it. You have to remember that as a co-angler, you are something of a guest on that boat. Maybe it's public water but the back seat of the boat is the boater's property and has to be respected as such. The comments to the effect that if a boater doesn't like it then they shouldn't take people out has the negative impact to the non-boater that fewer will go out to pre-fish. I'm kinda amazed there is this much controversy and debate about this. It's pretty simple: boater's boat/boater's rules. If you violate this, you will get a bad rep and you will sit a lot of pre-fish days, whether at the club level or the regional level. Of course, in the upper echelons like the BM Opens or FLW it's absolutely forbidden to share info as a non-boater-that should tell you something right there. The idea of doing it secretly-well that kinda tells you something right there too
  10. We just sent our entry in. I mean what would you rather be using than a FlappinShad, Big EZ, Ugly Otter or Cane Toad?
  11. Totally agree-what I am talking about is a spraying program that eradicates any sign of vegetation. Fortunately where I live they still honor "no spray" signs (for the time being)
  12. Most of them just don't get it. They see vegetation and think it is sign of trouble and not an indicator of an oxygenating lake. Certainly there have to be controls because only us hard-cores like to see mats LOL. I have gone to my HOA with a marine biologist to explain and the result is pretty much a vegetation-free lake due to overspray. It's like "don't bother me with the facts"
  13. Enjoy it while you can cause I am sure the spray brigade will be back as soon as some homeowner association dude sees one strand of grass. The knowledge base of these Homeowner Association is nil for the most part and the lake management companies they hire are more than willing to the HOAs money and spray away.
  14. I heard Carmen was running a trail out of the south end. Anybody have a link or information on it?
  15. I'm taking my grandson out tomorrow and want to find him some fish. Is the water still high? Anything working out there?
  16. water temps and air temps have cooled down a bit. Water is still very high and moving in the Glades at Holiday and at the Alley.
  17. Oh-so that's where all the fish I found on Friday went!!! LOL-great day out there! I had a solid pre-fish on Friday but Sunday in a club tournament turned a dud for me. The wind muddied up my water a bit and although I caught a lot of fish, the biggies moved-wah wah wah
  18. X2 Check out Grape Hammock area of Lake Kissimmee and there may be some rental housing up near Camp Mack. Up toward Toho in the city of Kissimmee, there is probably a rental agency for winter rentals.
  19. Keep your line wet; keep your ears and eyes open
  20. It didn't! Two dinks and a big fat zero with a BAD ATTITUDE! :-[ i fished the big fish tourny at the holey lands today. caught around 30 fish, but the problem was they were all 14 inches long. i caught one 3 pounder. a 6.7 won and i believe there were 2 guys who had 5 pounders. the water is moving way to fast for any of my spots to work. fished the west canal and all of my fish were caught behind the pads on a shakey head. the 3 pounder came in the east canal on a carolina rigged ace. the water was ripping everywhere we went. tough bite. The water is high but it's been higher for sure. I think it's the movement that's the problem-that's my story and I'm sticking to it. To the Lake for a T next weekend

  22. It's not about the baits-mental toughness and preparation.
  23. Anybody been out this week? I have a T on Saturday out of the rest area. Fished the MC on last Sunday and it was very tough. Caught 5 all day with maybe 2 small keepers and a 3. Knew we were in trouble when I got there at 6:30 and no one was there and left at 2 and no one was there LOL. Lots of boats/trailers at the west ramp in between. Any ideas or reports?
  24. Anytime you can make tough adverse conditions be your friend, you have a leg up on a lot of people who will mentally check out. My biggest issue is trying to worm/finesse fish in it as I lose contact with any feel. I am totally amazed and in awe when I see someone drop shopping on Lake Erie and they can barely stand up on the front of the boat I guess the lesson here is to try and power fish and hope that the wind has broken up the water enough that the fish get aggressive.
