  1. howdy, thanks for starting a place for us ladies to share what we've learned on our own and what all the great guys on this forum have shared with us. and who knows maybe you guys will learn something from us
  2. the first few times out i didn't even get a bite. i don't think i caught my first bass till i'd fished maybe 5 times. but.. after every time out i put the pole down and jumped in the water and went swimming. it made my day and like others have said take the fishing slow and have a good time.
  3. i have decided on 4 different set ups and what i think i should use them for, i would appreciate any feedback on any part of my choices. 1.shimano compre 6'10 mh, xf graphite rod shimano curado 201e7 16lb. sun shooter fluoro green for spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and lipless crankbaits 2.daiwa iaconelli 6'4 mh,f graphite rod daiwa 153hstl a reel 40lb. power pro braid red for frogs, flipping creatures,jigs, and tubes 3.berkley cherrywood 7'0 m,m graphite rod abu garcia black max . 12lb. spiderwire xxx super mono clear for topwaters, floating worms,soft swimbaits,chatterbaits and buzzbaits 4. fenwick eagle gt 6'6, mh. f abu garcia cardinal 503 albi 20lb.yo-zuri hybrd ultra soft mist green for senkos, crawfish,tubes,shakeyhead worms, bucktail jigs and weighted swimbaits so those are my choices so far, what do you think i should keep or change and why. thanks
  4. welcome i'm new here too from southern maine, portland area, do you fish the palermo area? any good? i've been wanting to check out st.george but it's a long drive, is it worth it? these guys on this site know so much, i have already learned a ton a new things. the ice will be out soon! lol

  6. i'm not married, i fish with my daughter or anyone else i can drag along with me. lol. sometimes i fish alone so i don't give away my secret spots. and by the way i hope to go south someday to fish ga. and fla. and tx.

  8. happy holidays to everyone! i got a daiwa m. iaconelli 6'4" med. hvy. casting rod, a daiwa td advantage-a-cast 153hstl reel to put on it and sun metan green 16lb. fluorocarbon line to spool on it. i also got some strike king coffee tubes, 3.5" in honey and kvd kick. igot a new spinner in chartruse, 2 rapala crankbaits,a sub-surface walk the dog, and a long casting suspending shad rap profile. my 11 year old daughter got me a bill lewis rat-l-trap crank and some berkley powerbait worms. i also got a 40 4 gift card to cabelas so i will probably stock up on new hooks etc. great year for me!
  9. hi, i'm really excited to be part of your forum. i'm from southern maine and have just started fishing again after many years . when i was a kid growing up in connecticut i always had a fishing pole and a can of worms with me. today i caught my first true lunker, a 3# 16" large mouth bass. what a rush ! i don't have a boat so i do all my fishing from shore without all the electronics that the bass boats have. sometimes i think that makes me have to work harder to find the fish but i love the chase. the lakes in maine are always so pretty and clean and if i don't catch anything after a while i just jump in and enjoy the swim. again thanks for letting me in, i hope to learn a lot from all of you.
