  1. Whats worse is when they make huge dents in your lures.
  2. Nightcrawlers always work.
  3. I always forget to open my bail. But another thing is casting out a line with bait and not noticing the bait flies off and leaving the pole out there for hours wondering why nothing ate the bait.
  4. Very Nice!
  5. All the time big snapping turtles or painted turtles eat up on my carp bait and it feels like you are reeling in a tires. Occasionally they will chomp down on my lures leaving huge dents.
  6. Thanks for the response. Was it any of these ponds you tried or somewhere else... Darlington Park Saddle River Park's Glen Rock Otto C. Pehle and Wild Duck Pond Samuel Nelkin Park Van Saun Park Wood Dale Park.
  7. Hey everybody, with school ending and summer starting, it gives me much more time to fish. I would like to know if anybody could direct me to good fishing holes in Bergen County. I do not have a boat so I fish from shore. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Brian
  8. In my local pond there aren't many bass but there are a lot of other things such as carp, catfish, perch, and many other odd things. A lot of times I catch nice size catfish using top-water lures. Every once in a while I will catch a two or three foot long eel using worms (they feel exactly like catfish when reeling in). And every now and then I catch huge snapping turtles of lures. But yesterday 5 minutes after I caught my first bass of the year I hooked a huge crappie in its back, which gave a pretty intense fight using a crank bait.
  9. Thanks a lot!
  10. Hey all! My name is Brian and I am from Bergen County NJ. I finally got back into fishing after having a long break. I recently went down to a local pond with a friend of mine and a caught a couple of bass, many white perches, catfish, and a few 3 foot plus carp which got me back into the fun. Saddly fishing season is winding down and I am going to try a few more holes, mostly for trout. Brian
