  1. How'd you like the king daddy?
  2. DO NOT buy anything under 7'6". Everyone is using 8' to 9' rods. They give longer casts, easier figure-8's, and take off a lot of fatigue from throwing heavy baits. I recommend a 8'6" XH, depending on what size lures you will throw. If you don't want to spend much you can't go wrong with Pete Maina signature series at Bass Pro. They have a new 8'6" thats good for lures weighing 4 to 10 ounces and they are on sale for $100.
  3. spro bronzeye frog - do not waste your money on any other brand. any color will do. the hardest part about fishing thick cover is seeing your bait so stick with a white or yellow. i like the standard size and i do not trim the tail 7'6" heavy rod - may consider 7'10". longer rods allow you to cast farther and you can get a better hookset. bass pro nitro rods are perfect for froggin' 30 to 50 lb. braid - i use suffix. i prefer 50 lb. but 30 lb. will let you cast slightly farther i suggest using a baitcasting combo if you have the means to buy any reel, get a abu garcia revo. stx is the best.
