  1. Just gorgeous. Are you stickin these out of private lakes or public? Goodness man.
  2. wow, that fish has a mouth on it. Great catch!
  3. As a side note, what i like about you J Francho is that you are consistently a good fisherman and you don't lie about the weight of your fish. Why it bothers my so much when people do, i don't know. Nevertheless it is refreshing. Beautiful smallie. It's been a while since i have gone for a smallie. Speakin of smallies, Road Warrior i am waiting for you to share some new big smallie stories. I love the story of your biggun that got away. Nice fish, keep it up J
  4. postspawn...oh no my friend. You are going to hit it right on the head full blown spawn. Top water always works during the spawn there. There is so much cover on most lakes that fish are usually not too deep. In addition, texas rig whatever your using. And you don't need to wacky rig a sinko. If the lake is not heavy populated put on a worm texas rigged. Jigs works as well. So, topwater-yes always (might not get many bites but it always works. Spinnerbait, your best bet for numbers and bass up to 4 pounds. 5 pounds and up, texas rigged worm. Here is an attachment of my fishing during the spawn in Minnesota around June 1st. You should consistently catch spawning bass till the third week of June. MN is the greatest place on earth. Go get em!
  5. My goodness. Your posts are always amazing. I wonder how many 10 pound bass you see a year... Nowadays, do you even get excited over a 7 -8 pound bass??? Unbelievable
  6. beautiful, just a flat out beauty
  7. Always look forward to your posts George. And you have never let me down. Great fish
  8. Yeh, you can go there with your gas motor. Just keep it up. Went there last month, it's beautiful and very pressured. Plan on only getting a few bites. Good luck
  9. priceless, even when i am not fishing i can still catch em! Thanks LHC, that made my morning ;D
  10. great job man, that looks fun. Hope you keep that momentum going
  11. Dwight i am convinced that you are the man
  12. big bass guru...hmm i just don't ever in my life remember ever calling myself that on this forum or anywhere! The lakes i am restricted to fish out of, it would be interesting to see how you do from them. It's only a win win situation for me if you did drop by and show me something from these lakes because they are desolate enough as it is. Now, don't be a man of words, i expect a heads up when you're down this neck of the woods and let's take your boat out! This raft can only fish pressured waters that are small and i'd love to hit some lakes. 3 double digits in a tournament in public waters is truly amazing. That is an incredible accomplishment and it clearly deserves respect. Let alone your 14.7 is just ridiculous. These types of accomplishments are impossible to discard hence why you have never seen me question accomplishments as such. In terms of bragging about EVERY fish over 4 pounds, to each his own. While i don't do that about every fish over 4, if i have a fun outing i just might say something about it just like you do for outings that are fun for you. That's what this site is all about. To most people on this site, a 4 pound bass is a great fish to catch any day. Plus you need to keep in mind, in some waters, a 4 pounder is a "huge" fish. It is funny to me though how out of nowhere you feel the need to prove yourself as a better angler than me. I love the competition of fishing and if you truly are a veteran of fishing than you know that you can lose on any given day. And again in all seriousness, if you did show me a thing or two on these small heavily pressured waters i'd only be grateful and i am man enough to admit when i have lost a battle here and there...but...are you??? : Aside from all trash talking, i think what makes fishing so fun is that you can beat the tar out of someone one day and get spanked the next. Fishing is truly amazing. Either way, if you don't make it down here and it's all talk, i do hope you keep catchin them cause that's what it's all about. And if you are the little "prodigy" as fourbizz says, then i hope you make us proud.
  13. Shimmy, I look forward to your input every time there is a thread where someone caught big bass. You are the most jealous person I have ever seen on BR and it always makes the thread way more fun when you come riding in touting why it isn't a "real" catch. I would love to come up to your home waters and show you how to really catch fish. Maybe next year during the Opens. Keep it up man Hmm...I could have sworn i said i was jealous of all the big fish he caught. As in most of my posts i make it clear that i am jealous of big bass. Besides this article and the fish in a barrel lake you fish, i don't take away from others catch. If you can show me than i would be pleased and obliged to apologize. Second of all, show me how to really catch bass??? I have never said i am the best but am up for a challenge any day. The lake you post all of your pictures from come from a lake people are dropping over 400 bucks a day to fish. And yes, as i stated on your thread, i am jealous of that place! So yes you are stating the obvious. However, as i always point out, you get guys like RoadWarrior, Mattlures, Paul, Big-O, Fish Chris and many many more on this sight who catch giants amidst all the pressure. They are great fisherman and you won't find a thread of me ever questioning their skills. I'm glad you do enjoy my posts and anytime you wanna show me up, i'd love to take the friendly challenge. You ask me not to get ahead of myself as you jump right in and tell me you'd teach me something about fishing!!! That's kinda funny I like that competitive side you have though, that's what makes a good fisherman. tight lines
  14. Given your logic, i can't tell if you're arguing just to argue or if you really have no idea. If you don't know the difference between a georgia private pond and kentucky lake as well as other pressured public waters then this argument is useless.
  15. it is an incredible feat, however, i read the story a while ago and am jealous of people like this fortunate enough to fish private ponds in Georgia. My only point was there is a reason he caught more ten pounders than any other elite tournament angler in the world and it's not because they are not using buzzbaits and ugly sticks
  16. sidenote, they were pretty much all private ponds. And yes, that does make a difference!
  17. good job son 8-)
  18. i think i am man enough to admit that i have seen this before as well. I pitched towards that stupid fish for half an hour before the light registered in my head...it's probably a carp! So i motored closer and sure enough it was. Happens to the best of us.
  19. where are you fishing? Minnesota's bass fishing season doesn't open for a few more weeks...
  20. i have a boot on top of the raft as well so i have no idea how i am going to put the stickers on this thing. I was thinking about putting them on a folder and keeping them with me in the boat. Not sure if that will satisfy the hunger of the DNR though.
  21. These aren't the biggest but it is what i have for the week. Fishing was tough. I am averaging 3-5 fish per 4 hours of fishing. Always tough fishing conditions but i usually get one out of the bunch that is picture worthy making it all worth while. It is interesting though, if anyone has ever fished Minnesota, they'd know that catching a 100 fish a day is average (given that you know the lake). The lakes i am restricted to fish up here in northern VA are kickin my trash. I wish i could get into the Potomac river though, that is one mighty fine fishery. Either way, the raft is treating me well, however, i got a ticket the other day from the warden on Lake Brittle for not having my raft registered! So, apparently a raft with a 30 lb thrust trolling motor is just too dangerous to not have registered. I swear, DNR guys must get such a kick out of giving tickets. It's one thing if you know better, but i mean come on; getting a ticket over something you thought was legal is ridiculous. These are from Lake Brittle using the old classic bubble gum colored 3 inch senko; the prodigy of artificial bass fishing. ----First one here is a 4.1 lb. I think it looks bigger than it really is. It was short, look at my hand to mouth ratio which helps make her see she is a wee bit smaller than what she is. She just likes the camera. ----Second one is my 5.2, short bass but really fat. Really bad hook set but was lucky to land her. ----Third one is my 6.1 lb 22.25 incher. She fought like a champ making her my favorite battle thus far this year. ----Fourth one, same fish but it looks like i am Sasquatch walking through the woods with my food ----Last one, (not pictured) is the monster i had shake me off 5 feet from the boat making my heart drop and i am still feeling the pain. At least she jumped high enough that i got to see all of her beauty. While in mid-air, she looked at me, i looked at her, and we both knew right then that she was not going to end up in my arms. Looked over 7 pounds. Just kept swimming towards me and i never could set the hook.
  22. Completely agree. This theory has proven time and again. His technique is for finicky fish and smaller bass <5 lbs.
  23. That 5.7 is a beauty. Even if you caught just one fish all day and it was that one, it would have been an incredible day. Numbers just don't matter (unless you're in a tournament). Good luck next week
  24. Dan, i would put that bass around 7.2 lb give or take recent body excretions.
