  1. Sorry about that first post. My question is does anybody know some links that i can go to for some cool looking Baitcast reels? Just to give you a general idea, i really like the reel handle on the older quantum tour edition baitcast reel( older model with the blue finish) thanks to all who reply to this post...tight lines
  2. LoL, thanks guys. Funny though...my wife is always asking me" how many rods, reels, and tackle do you need"? I just smile and walk away
  3. to birdley the rods are not on sale, i think last week was the cut off. And to captin O, thanks for the link
  4. your right alumabass, it is a good hurt
  5. I've been bass fishing for about three years and up untill about two weeks ago, I've used wal-mart combos. Well I decided that it was time to upgrade so over the past couple of weeks I have gotten a total of four bps carbonlite rods( two casting and two spinning). Went to the classic this morning and purchased two johnny morris elite casting reels and a pro qualifier spinning reel. I am very happy that I was able to upgrade but man....my wallet would float if i tossed it in the air right now.
  6. I looked at the skeet reese rods LONG and hard and put it next to a bps carbonlite rod. I honestly feel that the sr rods to be poorly made. So i went with the carbonlite rods. I have two casting(7 med/hvy casting and 7 med/hvy spinning) I must say that im very happy with my purchase
  7. i was worried that a 14 foot jon would be to much, i just wanted to make sure and now it's confirmed. To Carrington, thanks for your sharing your personal experience with loading a jon boat. I just kept telling myself that at 23 years old, that 113 pounds would be a piece of cake. But i didnt account the boat would be away from my body and so fourth. As for Fishing Rhino, once again, thanks for sharing your knowledge on loading a boat. I've got answers here and there but yours was very in depth and im grateful. Tight lines gentlemen.
  8. Thanks for the advice and to answer your question I'll be doing this( or attemping) alone. It does worry me that you have a hard time loading midway to your truck bed, while I'll have to load this boat way over my head. But I keep reminding myself that it's just 113 pounds.
  9. Hello to all my bassin family out there. As you can see from my post, I am planning on buying a 14foot tracker Jon boat and I will be transporting it with my chevy astro van. I know some might say" get a trailer", but the boat only weights 113 ponds...so Im confident that I can handle this task alone. So can anyone give me pointers on how I need to mount this on top of my van? If it helps my van is 9 ft in length and 5 feet wide. Thanks
  10. Thanks swimbasser, i just might have to check into the pro quailifer
  11. Thanks guys and I'm talking about that pass pro shops carbon lite casting reel. It only comes in one gear ratio.
  12. Hello to all, while I recently found out that it's possible to upgrade bearing inside a reel....I wanted to know if it's possible to upgrade or have the gear ratios CHANGED. If so can you please post a website or contact information. Thanks to anybody that replies to this post....tight lines.
