  1. I have the chance to get into a 2003 Triton TR19 with a Mercury 175HP Two Stroke EFI. Boat has incredibly low hours. I've know and trust the guy I will buying the boat from. I'm paying 8k for it and it has every available option you can get from the dealer. Even the trailer has brakes which is nice. My main concern is what I might be getting myself into. I just got burned by a used boat, albeit a lot older one than this. What issues might I run into with a boat that has sat that long. I know he put Stabil in the fuel tank but I'm not sure if the tank was full or not. I'm assuming I'm going to need all new batteries at the least. With a two stroke, will it sitting like that have screwed the fuel injectors? Should I just put some new batteries in there and fire it up? Any other things you would check for right off the bat? I know to look for major things like soft spots in the hull, spider cracks on the transom, etc. Though I doubt this boat has major problems like that. Thanks again!
  2. I was out on Lox yesterday. I don't think there are any Peacocks in there but there were dead Mayans everywhere. Water teamps were between 52-54 degrees. Fished in near gale force winds for 4 hours before giving up. Didn't get a single bite. First time I've seen the fishing this bad since I moved to FL. I thought the warmer temps of the past few days would have turned on the bite with pre-spawn feeding but I can't anything from the shore or the canal behind my house (C-16).
  3. I fish the lake alot even though it gets HEAVY fishing pressure because it's so close to my front door. I keep hearing there is a tournament the 1st Saturday of the month that is open to the public. This is stuff I usually hear while at the ramps loading or unloading. I can't find ANY info on who runs it but I was going to try and fish in it tomorrow. 1/2/2010. Anyone have any information on who runs this or if there is a website. I'm not even sure if it's going to happen tomorrow due to the holiday weekend. But I'll be at the ramp before sun-up just in case. Any of guys fish this tournament or have any information. I wouldn't sweat it as I not much of Flipper which is the technique that seems to win around here the most. Thanks, Brian
  4. Man I've fished there 3 times the past week. I can only access the Rim canal because I'm in a stupid pond prowler. But I'm not catching near that many fish. Are you launching from Lee Rd/Boynton Beach or Southern Blvd?
  5. I've been fishing Ida a lot the past couple of months. Caught an 8lb fish there on a Manns -1 crank. Been doing very well by the sandbar early in the morning. Lots of weeds even into the middle of the lake. The island around the sandbar in the back always holds a few bass because it goes from the sandbar to a big patch of hydrilla to 7' water. Also caught some big fish with a trap along the western side of the lake. Lake Osbourne is hard to fish from all the jet ski traffic and glut of boats. Plus seems like there is a tournament there every week so the pressure is insane. Been hitting the cental canals in Boyton between Osbourne and Ida, caught some tiny peacocks, a few small bass, and a couple hundred of those stupid Oscars. Would love some new places to fish. The canals are kinda boring and you are stuck just pounding the shore for miles on end. What is that at the end of Wiles? Could I get my Pond Prowler and 55lb? Gonna be windy this weekend but I'm gonna try and fish somewhere.
  6. I took the advice and started out with a Curado E200, Revo STX, and a Shimano Core MG100. No turning back to spinning now even though 40% of my baitcasting casts land in a tree branch, 40% result in a backlash, the other 20 percent end up in the water 20 feet short of what I was aiming for! Could hit a quarter from 75 yards with my spinning stuff though. Hopefully I can get this down in the next few months. Hard to catch fish when you are spending all day pulling line off the spool. It's funny because I thought I had it down pat after a day of fishing open water. Then when I got home and fished the canals and shoreline the problems started. I forgot how bad inaccuracy can ruin a day of fishing.
  7. I just bought a couple of rods in your price range. I got the Vendetta MH 7' and the Falcon Bucco 6'6"M. They are pretty sweet rods I gotta say. They both are sweet looking too.
  8. They hold well on my Ram 1500 seats!!!!! Grrrrr I put them on a $15.00 Lucky lure and caught a few bass. But now that the lure is worth like $25.00 I'm afraid to throw it! ;D
  9. *** for the win! Free T-shirt with every order. Free shipping on orders over $50 bucks. 49 cent coozies! ;D $5 2 day shipping, $10 for overnight. Incredibly fast shipping, awesome returns. They will even send you a reel to test out for free if you have spent a couple hundred with them. Top Notch!!
  10. Not sure if it's rude or not to reply to a thread this old but here it goes. I've tried the Senko too. It certainly takes extreme patience to use the bait weightless in anymore than 3-4 feet of water. Also they don't seem as durable as other soft plastics. Sometimes when I miss a strike or land a fish and it's too messed up for the hook to stay in any longer; I rip a bit of the end off and turn it around thus multiplying my bag of Senkos. Senkos are not my ultimate go to bait yet. That spot is still reserved for the 4" and 6" Zoom Lizards in Chartreuse. FOR ME anyway this thing will catch fish when absolutely NOTHING ELSE will. I don't care if it's 100 degrees and sunny, or 60 degrees and cloudy. I've caught more 4-6# fish on the 4" zoom lizard than every other lure in my tackle box and I'm pretty sure I have them all! Don't sleep on the 4" or 6" in Zoom lizard in Chartreuse with the 1/4oz bullet weight. AWESOME action and you can work it much faster or slow as the Senko if need be. I think the color works because every other boat on planet earth is throwing black or watermelon at them! Just my 2 cents.
  11. I got in the water around here for a few hours. I didn't have any problems though.
