  1. Bassinlou nailed it. Down here heat or cold fronts they hunker down and hold tight. Some days the only way to catch them is put it right on there dinner table because they are t moving.
  2. ^^^hes alive!!
  3. Thas a good. Time of year is good right now!
  4. Nice report in the hudd gill and my god that bluegill is fat. What line and rod were you throwing the hudd gill on?
  5. Thats a good question as I have looked at both online too....on the surface, I'd have hard time paying $5 for the ike jig that's likely to get hung. On the other hand though, they do look great and I like the head design and hook.
  6. Did Ken stop putting the ROF on the back of the tails or something??
  7. Dang is that a spot???
  8. If youre only getting followers kill it and let it sit on the bottom motionless and wait for the thump!
  9. Like above. Owner beast.
  10. After more research this may be referred to as union road canal? If anyone knows anything about this place any insights are much appreciated!
  11. Keep in mind its not always how many different baits, but how you present it.....a stick bait/fluke can be flipped, dragged, hopped, jerked, wacky and even used as a topwater. If your budget is limited look for baits that can be versatile. The presentation is more important sometimes depending on the mood of the fish....if they're active they'll eat quickly once they've located your bait. If they're more neutral a slower presentation can entice them better sometimes. The advice given has been good, but keep it simple. It's hard to go wrong with a zoom super fluke, most days this will catch you some fish, just remember to try different retrieves to get them to bite.
  12. It appears that there's a boat launch to access the north side of the canal from US41 in Port of the Islands Marina. The launch looks primitive, but my question is, is this ramp accessible to the public? If it is are there any dangers in the canal when running it? Also, it is safe to leave your truck there overnight!!! I really appreciate any info/advice.
  13. Don osborne will take care of you. Good site
  14. 61 packs of huddleston huddle bugs. 45 bitsy flips.
  15. If you're punching down here look from half to 1 1/2 ounce punch weights. The pinch rig goes above your hook. The skirt gives more action and helps it slide through the mats easier. Put your own heavy wire hook on it.
  16. If your not using his flipping jigs definitely grab some extreme shakys. I've bought around 200 of them already and will be getting more in the near future. The heavy hook really helps when these south Florida bass bulldog into the heavy weeds where normal shaky head hooks can not get them out. That's why I fish it with 25# flouro as well.
  17. It's hard to say. I'd like to see someone catch a 20+ though. Seems like kuritas bass was the last big bass caught. even sightings of bass that size seems stagnant at the moment.
  18. First passage from the best bass fishing book ever written in my opinion. I still read that book even though I've read it several times already. Yes deep I agree as well. Big bass imo seem to be more selective and dismiss baits presented wrong or just seem off to them.
  19. My thoughts exactly. I'd bought two of them for that price!! I hope you stick that bass and post her pics up here man.
  20. The don father lives on here as well? Don wish you would chime in serums in your thoughts in other big bass threads!
  21. There's also a park in Naples with a small Lake or big pond. I've never been there but it looks like it has plenty of bank access.
  22. This is correct. I've caught peacocks out of golden gate canal. Not giants but still fun.
  23. Jeff I wad thinking the same thing. Deep seemed.to have them dialed in some time back with the hudd!
  24. Lol...I feel your pain. My buddy's order from is still backordered from months ago.
  25. I use the stanley top toad and it has good action and so far durability has been decent.
