  1. Guys, I really appreciate the input. It means alot, especially since in the area I live, alot of spots I could hop around too have been closed down do to people messing up the area. Its sad, I remember many days that I taught my kids how to fish there and have had lots of good times. Punish the bad guys not us fisherman! I am just worried that with my luck, the interceptor canal gate would be closed when I get there! I'll also look into the holeylands as well. Thanks for that tip evrgladesbasser! I've never heard of this place. If anyone knows, what is the water depth in the L28 canal? It looks pretty open on the google earth map. Is the bottom muddy, rocky, weedy. Just trying to get an idea of what to bring. I'm going to try huddlestons here also. Thanks everyone again! I can't wait to move out of Ft. Myers. Not a place for bank fisherman!!
  2. I just got mine in the mail today. My only concern is the bend at the end of each arm straightening on a large fish?? It is also alot smaller than I expected, 6 and 7 inch paddletails may not be a suitable option. I'll find out this weekend though! I am excited to give it a try.
  3. Haha. I fell for it. Should be here on Monday.
  4. Received and pm'd back. Sir, you really are a standup guy. Thanks very much! Tony
  5. Do you have better luck working the G2 slow waking it, twitching or cranking it down?
  6. I'm looking to do some shore fishing next weekend and was wondering if anyone could point out some places with ALOT of bank access. I am catch and release only and don't get out that way much. I've been on the rim canal before with a boat but don't have one this time. Is the bank fishing okay at the Clewiston area? I've also been on the Tamiami canal several times, but from the bank there I havn't figured it out all to well yet. If anyone has any spots they don't mind sharing please help me out. PM is fine too. Thank you very much.
  7. Awesome!!! I'm glad to hear the peas maybe coming back! I wish I could catch those here in Ft. Myers, I'd go to Miami to get em but don't know where to go!!
  8. Dude, you are very lucky! Glad that youre okay to fish another day. Drive safe!
  9. Awesome fish! That girl in your right hand is skinny! She looks like she should weigh over ten by spawn.
  10. Excellent story and fish! FishinDaddy you seem like a real class act! You've obviously put time in on the water.
  11. Very nice! Gets me pumped to break out the jigs again and get away from topwater action.
  12. LOL! That's kind of messed up though! Maybe you'll get a teener at Toho though. I wish you the best.
  13. Good luck! I have a baby bass wake jr sitting here for over a month that I'm waiting to use still! It's hard to put down the topwater frogs right now.
  14. Man I am jealous! I hope you boat over 500 pounds of bass this coming week!
  15. Agree! That rod could probably bring up a goliath grouper. Its not even a challenge when a bass gets hooked on it.
  16. That's a nice one for sure!
  17. Sorry Capt. Shane, although funny to watch, that's pretty messed up!! I give you credit for keeping your cool, although you did seem quite irritated by the prop wash. Wow, what a ***** thing to do!
  18. Kistler makes a rod called the broomstick. 7 XH magnesium casting rod. I have one of these and it is a broomstick. I think TW sells it for around $150 bucks, and $200 for the micro guide one.
  19. Owner ST-41 2x size 1. Overkill especially on KVD squares but it hasn't seem to effect the bite for me and I have not lost many fish at all since I changed them. Yes, they are a little big and tangle every once in awhile but I can deal with that considering my hook up ratio has increased x10!
  20. Agree, with JimH. I wonder how many bass could actually be in there. Anyways, with it being 4 ft at it's deepest, I'd try a topwater.
  21. AGREE 100%!! Maybe even a "teener".
  22. I caught one 8 on a rapala clackin crank earlier this year. Bleeding shad.
  23. I have searched all over the internet and can't seem to find many people's fishing experience with this bait. Does anyone have any and how have they worked for you? They look like they're fantastic baits and could be excellent at the right times. Looking for experiences with the bluegill and pumpkinseed and durability issues if any? Thanks
  24. Over the last year here in Florida I caught 7 bass over the 8 pound mark. Two were on zoom horny toads. One on a 4 inch swimbait. One on a Rapala clackin crank. One on a Manns jelly worm. Two on a Deps Buzzjet. Not big by Florida Standards but still nice fish to me.
  25. I like these! Are the skirts held in place with wire or rubber collar?
