  1. Think it'll be good for open water dropshotting? With the gammy dropshot hooks all you need is pressure on the line and the fish are hooked perfectly every time
  2. SO I have a smaller pfleuger supreme spinning reel that I have been wanting to put on a rod. I found a Loomis IMX SJR 721 for a deal I could not pass up. My question is what applications would you recommend using it for? And does anyone have any input on this rod? I love drop-shotting so I was thinking of using it with light line and dropshotting 1/16-1/4 oz Dropshots or shaky heads with the same weights. Any input?
  3. I like Power Team Lures JP Hammer Shad and Finicky Ticklers The new Berkely Twitchtail Minnows work great as well. GYCB 4" Senkos Nosehooked catch a lot of fish for me also. ALWAYS use a 1/0 or #1 Gamakatsu Splitshot/Dropshot hook
  4. All I can vouch for with St. Croix is a 7' M action Avid that I use for dropshotting. I would compare it equally to my Powell Max rods. Very sensitive. I just purchased a 6' L action Loomis IMX so hopefully it performs equally and I will be happy!
  5. try Cole Tackle. They make awesome rod covers. I am pretty sure they can custom make ones for you also depending on length. www.coletackle.com
  6. You must not have been holding your tongue the right way
  7. 1/0 Gamakatsu Splitshot/dropshot
  8. Help me out guys.. I am going to a public auction this afternoon and I just went and looked at some stuff. There are 4 G Loomis rods.. 1 is a crankbait series, 2 are Bronzebacks, and one is a GL2. These rods are at least 3+ years old and wouldnt doubt if they are older than that... what should I expect to pay for each of these rods and what are they worth? Thanks!
  9. Revos dont have a button.... The have a thumb screw which needs backed out.. then you rotate the side plate and pull off..
  10. I plan on using my new supreme today and tomorrow at my club tournament. I will give you an update this weekend
  11. In that price range I would go with the Powell Diesel.. If you aren't in a hurry I would wait until tackle warehouse has another 15% off sale..
  12. I agree. For 139.99 you cannot beat a Powell Max. If you are looking for a great, all around rod I woul recommend the Powell Ma 704c. It is 7' medium heavy action with an extra fast tip... I have used this rod for the last 3 years and it has never failed me... So light, sensitive and had plenty of backbone.... You will NOT be disappointed with a Powell Max.. I promise
  13. I would buy the Supreme in a heartbeat... I just picked up one for 20$... best 20$ ever spent..
  14. you shouldnt need to do anything more than drop shot to catchum..
  15. I have a tournament there next Saturday July 7. I have never fished it before but I am going the be going with primarily a dropshot, tube. Spider and ika.... And top water right off the bat in the morning
  16. Line goes on the outside of your spool... Not the inside
  17. Go to eBay and type in cals drag grease. You can purchase it from a guy who puts them in 1oz condiment containers... Same exact stuff he just bought bulk and is makin a profit... I bought some last year and didnt even put a dent in my supply.... Once u use drag grease you should Never need to apply more I believe
  18. Hmm... you just listed 3 moving baits... spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and jerkbaits.... try a soft plastic... The fish arent going after any moving type bait so throw out a senko or something and let it sink to the bottom and slowly twitch it back in..... If there are fish there... they will eat it. Good luck
  19. 15-17# flourocarbon with a Mh rod
  20. That would not be a selling point for me... I've never had a revo reels paint chip or anything on me... Some scratches add character and are not detrimental in helping me land a fish..
  21. I will keep that in mind... Thanks!
  22. Used. Very good condition mechanically and physically
