  1. just break in and get it man! tell them the bait monkey told you to do so.. they'll understand! hahaha
  2. yep.. it is the best stuff... i like to tie a couple strands together and use it as a deer drag!
  3. nope.. i will be at the one in harrisburg in february
  4. speed.. where do you fish in PA? It looks like the Rooster is a pretty large bait..
  5. I havent tried the smokin roosters yet... how do you guys fish them?
  6. 6'6 or 7' MH vendetta should suit your needs perfectly
  7. just back it with some cheap, heavy mono... spool on half a spool of 20lbs first then tie on your braid.. makes an expensive spool of braid last twice as long! and the braid wont dig into your spool
  8. You will be fine with 50... I like using 20lb Fluoro for flipping and pitching as long as im just fishing in grass.. if there is wood involved, 50 should be fine.
  9. Hmm not a fan of mono for flipping. Just not very sensitive IMHO. I prefer fluro and usually use 17# for the most part. I should have specified more. Not actually flipping, just pitching jigs. For flipping I like braid. I would still go with fluoro.. Get some in 17lb and you are set. (Trilene 100% or Gamma)
  10. i caught a couple this year on a R2S Bully Wa Frog.. it was pretty exciting
  11. I love using Lizards... especially at one of my home lakes.. if the bite gets tough.. i'm almost guaranteed to start catching fish with one... I like to texas rig them with a very light tungsten weight (1/16 or 1/18 oz).. YUM Lizards... I like either Green Pumpkin with purple flakes.. or Black with red flakes..
  12. Spro Bronzeye Frog... Rainforest black.. 65lb Braid..
  13. get some black/blue paca chunks or some rage tail chunks... they r the best
  14. what do you want to use the rod for? and i wouldnt go below 7' for a rod. unless you are getting one to skip docks and need a shorter rod....
  15. hahahhah i couldn't have said it any better!
  16. welcome to the forum.. we just had a big discussion over the 7 soft plastics that you need to have in your tacklebox.. i suggest you read through that. You will see the top baits that everyone uses. I like my plastics in GreenPumpkin, Watermelon, and anything with red flakes. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1261499610
  17. i have the 8' Flippin rod... i'll weigh it tomorrow.
  18. yeah you can't beat the price TW has on the fuegos.. that'll give you a lot less stress than would a pflueger.. my first baitcasting setup was a Revo STX and it gave me a lot more confidence than if i would've been using a cheaper reel... for example: 2 of my buddies bought cheap quantums because dicks was having a sale on them... it was their first baitcasters and to this day all they use is spinning because they got so frustrated trying to learn on a cheaper reel.. let us know what rod you pick for sure... take it out once you get it and practice casting into a hat.. overhand, sidearm, pitchin flippin, by the time spring comes you will be good to go
  19. yep they have had these there for a while... they are always marked down to around 150.. i got one of those combos last year and am very impressed with it..
  20. I have 2 STX and an S and just got a Premier... Havent used the premier yet but i love the STX and S... no backlashes.. lots of power.. and mechanically sound!
  21. Abu Garcia Cardinal.. These are pretty much all I use and have never had a problem with them.. My favorite one I have had for at least 6 or 7 years and its a workhorse! Sometimes you can find them for under 50 so you can get some other goodies from BPS.
  22. x2! I use a Revo STX-L with 20lbs of Trilene 100% and it gets the job done
  23. its all about comfort... if you don't feel comfortable using your left hand don't... I feel totally in control cranking my spinning and baitcasting reels with my left so that is what I do... I have used some friends RH stuff at times and it just feels weird.. so do what you are comfortable with and don't change anything if you don't have to..
  24. I prefer a long rod... check out the archives and i'm sure you can find tons of info on them.. i like 7 1/2 -8ft rods for flippin and pitching... I have one of the Skeet rods for it and it does the job well
  25. if you are questioning it, bring them in! It wont hurt to have them in a nice warm house for the winter.. I'm sure you can make room for them in your house. I feel a lot more comfortable with mine in my bedroom then out freezing in the garage all winter.
