  1. Thanks a lot! Yeah it seems like all you see there is just big vendors and no small businesses. I'd rather give my money to a local or small mom and pop shop than a big corporation.. I'm checkin that website out right now
  2. nice.. I can't wait to try it out..
  3. I would go with the Powell.. but that is just personal preference..
  4. what did you use it for? Froggin?
  5. What are the advantages and disadvantages of red braid? I just bought a spool of 50lb power pro.. thanks!
  6. Is anyone going to this? I will probably go up for a weekend just because I always do.. I never seem to find many real good deals on anything though..
  7. i'd like to try this one myself though.. im gonna tear into it next week here at school... what will i need on hand to get it done? (this reel was givin to me.. I was told all it needed was a pall and levelwind worm gear..) so for 10 bucks i have the parts.. just need to work up the guts to fix it..
  8. I'm anxious to use it.. pretty much all of my rods are 7ft MH.. and I have an 8ft flippin stick.. I wanted a little bit shorter rod with some back bone and I think i should be happy with this one.. if not, my fiancee is getting into fishing (i just bought her a pfleugar lady endevour baitcaster and rod from dicks for 14 bucks..) and i'm sure it'd be a good rod for her to use when i'm not using it..
  9. It is a Fast action.. They had Avids there and I even had a sales associate scan it in hopes that it would ring up cheaper.. but they were still full retail.. I dont really need the rod but it is one of the ones that are made in the USA so i figured i would give it a try... It was priced lower than the made in China Triumphs...
  10. I just picked up a St. Croix Premier on clearance at Dicks sporting goods for 39.99... I got the 6'6 MH Baitcasting rod... how did I do, and what would everyone use this rod for? It retails there for 119.99
  11. Hey all.. I called BPS and they sent me parts for my Extreme... I need to replace the levelwind worm gear and the pall.. can anyone give me a step by step on how to do this? I'd like to do it myself.. and while i'm replacing it, id also like to get some upgraded drag washers... does anyone know which ones from smooooth drag will work? I'm gonna order a set for my Revo Premier as well.. thanks for all the help!
  12. thinkin about upgrading the drag washers with smoooth drag for my BPS Extreme... its a little older version but do you think I will be able to use the same ones you used for your Pro Qualifier?
  13. very nice review! im thinkin about maybe pickin one up for froggin
  14. goodluck gettin a response man.. i put the same post on here a couple weeks ago asking the same thing and didn't get a response..
  15. count me in on the Pro Qualifier as well
  16. Hey all.. I just got a BPS Extreme LH reel recently. (Got a heck of a deal on it.) I'm not sure what I plan to use it on yet, but was thinking of using it as a backup jig or a frog reel.. The drag feels kinda weak on it (approx 10lb.) I'm just wondering if anyone can give me a link to somehwere i could get some better drag washers or something for it to improve the drag.. how much would you think it would increase the drag to? Also, I read on here before how others say the guts are pretty much the same as a Revo reel.. if thats the case, what washers would i need.. a little more info in case it is needed.. the model number is ETX 10HL... the guy from bass pro shops said it was made in 2006. Thanks!
  17. id go with either the RC or the Johnny Morris.. def not the nitro.. the other 2 have pretty good track records..
  18. good tip!.. i also do this, except i tie a swivel on to the end of it.. it unwinds and straightens out pretty good like this..
  19. yep.. i use it to know where i put my junk line on first.. spool half the spool with some 25lb cheap mono.. tie it to the fluoro with a double uni knot.. tape it down, then spool the rest up with some good fluorocarbon...
  20. thanks for the review... make sure you post another one whenever you use it a couple times.. I'm a big Revo fan and these seem to be built just like them...
  21. i agree.. the Powell's are a lot of bang for your buck.. which ones did u keep going back and holding?
  22. i use electrical as well..
