  1. I fish blackie a lot.. I live about 10 minutes from there..
  2. great job!! what i would do to be able to fish right now!!
  3. A bunch of guys in my club are older gentleman and everyone of them swears by the Spiders.. i believe most of them use the ones made by Cabin Creek. Do any of you guys use spiders? if so how do you present them and what colors produce the best? A lot of these guys that is all they use and usually do very well in our tournaments.
  4. Curwensville is actually where my picture was taken.. My fiancee is from Curwensville and we go bank fishing there a lot..
  5. I would be fine with Curwensville.. when would be best for everyone? Early (March) or summer?
  6. My local tackle shop has a Stella on sale for I believe $399.. I dont know how many there are or if this is even a good deal.. anyone have any input?
  7. 7' ML for dropshot, 7'M for tubes..
  8. yeah Last fall a friend of mine was on their prostaff and he was informed that all of their stuff was 75% off.. I'm not sure what ever happened to them though.
  9. x2! The Bass Pro PQs and Extremes are also offerend in slow gear ratios and are great for cranking.. at a great price!
  10. the spinning combo is going to be great! I own a powell 703 and love it.. the sahara is made by shimano so its going to be a great reel... as for the casting, I own a 8ft flippin stick from W&M.. I like it.. I don't love it.. I will probably never own another Skeet rod... But I have a friend who has the S Glass rod you are talking about and he likes it.. And the revo s is a great reel! good choice on that one! Good Luck!
  11. I use the 15# InvsX FLuoro for texas rigs and jigs... I have it on an 09 Revo Premier paired with a Powell Max 703c... Sweet setup!
  12. yep it should! I just ordered (and actually it was delivered on my porch today) a 7ft ML for dropshotting.. The 7'H should work great for frogs..
  13. They are at home.. haha.. I'm stuck at school til friday! In addition to rods...you probably need some soft water too - huh? ;D haha that would be nice also!!
  14. And when the 20 yards you are actually fishing with gets weak you can take it off and put the good end out. In order to do this you would have to de-spool the reel without winding it onto anything else and then wind it back on again in reverse, or else reel it straight onto another reel. If you only have one, that could be a problem. How do you guys do it?? do it outside!
  15. They are at home.. haha.. I'm stuck at school til friday!
  16. x2 Yeah dude, tie on some junk line to back your braid with.. It isnt like mono or fluoro.. you dont need alot of braid on your spool.. backin it will save you money and prevent the braid from diggin into your spool..
  17. Alright.. here are my baitcasters... Don't mind the pink one.. that is my fiancee's haha 3 Revo STX, Revo Premier, Revo S RH and LH, BPS Extreme, Pfluegar Lady Endevour (Mary Beth's) 2 Abu Garcia SilverMax, Black Max, 2 Daiwa Capricorns, Daiwa Procaster
  18. Sell the gun... then buy the boat.
  19. Flipping: 20lb 100% Trilene Fluorocrabon 7ftMH: 15lb Seaguar InvsX fluorocarbon Spinning: 12lb Yozuri Hybrid..
  20. I agree! Or pair them up relatively evenly... 130 dollar rod (Powell) 120 dollar reel (Revo S or Citica)
  21. have you inspected the boat yourself yet? I would definitely look over it.. The other dude is the one making out on the deal.. He is trading a free boat for a 400 dollar gun.. have you checked your local craigslist? sometimes you can find jon boats pretty cheap.. If the plywood is shot already on the boat i would be a little weary if it was actually kept covered for all those years, and I would definitely make sure the motor is in good working order too before i pulled the trigger.. goodluck
  22. Yep Cville is another great option.. I really like that lake.. and you're right... it is a lot smaller and less traffic..
  23. Great suggestion! Powell rods are great... I have 703c paired with a Revo STX ... I got them both when TW had a sale.. I believe I spent under 250 on that one.. when the 09 STX's were getting replaced with the 2010 models..
